Poland Elections oct 2011/your feed back about RP Janusz Palikot? Poland is changing!

My own opinion on Palikot is that he's a clown and badly suited toward any serious kind of work in government. Think of Lepper with better table manners.

I also kind of assume the whole 'ruch Palikota' thing was to deal with disaffected young voters.

I deal with young educated people all the time. Overwhelmingly they

- don't like PiS

- don't like PO much better (they dislike PO less than they dislike PiS is the best way to put it)

PO types realized they needed a haven for youth protest votes (since youth support for PO is mostly negatively oriented) or they would probably go with SLD. Thus, the Palikot movement!

And it largely worked. For all his faults he was saying some things that the 'beton' of all the other parties couldn't / wouldn't say.

RP won't be able to do anything in the Sejm and probably won't be part of a coalition and the element of youthful rebellion is successfully dealt with and quashed.

mafketis you very often prove to be very well oriented in the Polish politics - and I agree with you diagnose almost 100 per cent - what is more I actually think before the next election the media will put their stake on Palikot (if he or his 'members' don't make an utter fool of him in the meantime) because the PO will be 'worn-out'

But he did get 10% votes. I for one do not think that he is a clown - he is more of a jester.

he should suck on a rubber penis of his - I'm sure you would like it even more then/

What feedback about JP? who cares about that particular idiot.

Yep me too but it only proves that majority of peeps are idiots .
.

There are regions in Poland, where the Catholic Church is the main political and economical power.

Whats wrong with that ?

he's not an idiot - he's a pretty skillful cheat and manipulator

Well, I mean to say that for me he is an idiot.

I'm not saying he's not - but how exactly has he cheated and manipulated you (or anyone else for that matter) so far? Care to enlighten me?

Why don't you people do some basic research. Palikot is for slashing the budget and fiscal responsibility, a lot more than PO.
He is also against the war on drugs, much like ron paul.

Well - the only problem is that this is founded by taxpayer. By taxpayer who may be Catholic or Jew or Muslim or even Atheist - no matter what's one's believes - he would pay nonetheless.

Just imagine what can you buy for the 5mld PLN per year!

The other problem - only the Catholic church gets such a support. No other religion.
And clergy has got a certain privileges. No income tax for instance.

The best example is the building of my High School. Before war it was hospital (not owned by the church of course). In my times it was a Lyceum and Medical School for nurses. Right now this is Catholic Seminary. And of course - the Church get this building for free.

Who need nurses in the hospital?

That's not a very gracious thing to say and it only reflects badly on yourself.

I wonder how many of the people who voted for Anna Grodzka actually knew who they are voting for

Who cares ? the Tennis world had Martina Navratilova and now Polish Political life has Anna Grodzka, what matters whether we are talking about Politics or Sports or any profession is to win.

you see there are other ways to achieve stopping the state from funding the RCC and even taking some property back than voting for Palikot - the other things in the Palikot bundle make it not worth voting for it - YES I AM VERY MUCH FOR CUTTING THE RCC (aka Catholic Church) FROM THE TIT OF THE STATE

I lol'd on the Palikot's plan on taxes.
What he wants is 3x18%.

That means that the rich would pay 18% instead of 32%.
And the poor would pay 18% (exactly what he paying right now).
Only the rich would benefit.

Of course - Palikot's personal income is in the highest tier. :)

Who cares ?

well maybe those people actually would care if they knew - for me it shows they don't know who they are voting for (neither on broader nor stricter scale)

Of course - Palikot's personal income is in the highest tier. :)

and the VAT on food items is now 7 per cent - I guess he would like to have it 18 per cent (no ohter way to balance a budget)

well maybe those people actually would care if they knew

or - just maybe - the people who voted knew who she was and did not care? maybe that's the kind of people they are?

sure we cannot dismiss such a possibility - but well I'm not very convinced it is indeed the case

Actually - only the Kaczynski is so old-fasioned to kiss a women's hand. :)
Once he even kissed a man (by mistake of course).

ah you are jealous ! that monies are not going to pay for bishops luxury residences and mistresses if that what you are jealous about nor it goes to one dude but rather to finance a lot of socially useful projects, and it is not as if the Church was getting some monies for free,

And clergy has got a certain privileges. No income tax for instance.

you are wrong here mister, clergy if have an income do pay taxes, if priest is teaching in school and working in parish he get taxed twice, once as a teacher and second time as a businessman paying towards ZUS 600 zl(or 800, don't remember now).

The best example is the building of my High School. Before war it was hospital (not owned by the church of course). In my times it was a Lyceum and Medical School for nurses. Right now this is Catholic Seminary.

Whats wrong with that ?

So, gumi, what is needed in religion beyond belief and a place of worship? I don't see your answer. Palikot doesn't believe that the state should throw money at the church. Doesn't he have a point? People have their belief and they have their churches. What more is needed?
OP LwowskaKrakow  28 | 431

rather to finance a lot of socially useful projects, and it is not as if the Church was getting some monies for free,

Do you agree that Poland beeing a secular Republic public funds and tax money should not go to any Religious group in Poland?
Only church goers in Poland and the Vatican and the wealthy Roman Catholic Church should pay for that , it has to be paid privately.

verything - unless they bought it

or got it as a compensation for lost property after commies confiscated it .....they are getting back only fraction of property they owned before the war
