Congrats to Poland - your people realize industry is important.

It seems your GDP is higher than the Portuguese one and probably will surpass the Italian one and then the Spanish.
It's because your people realize industry is important. What Italy, Spain, Greece and Portugal don't realize is that a country that mostly relies on tourism is set for being a unstable and poor. I don't know why, but almost all of the countries where tourism is the main sector are poor.

While I feel sorry for the nice people of Portugal and Athens, I don't really care about lazy Italians and Spaniards. They live like gypsies and are very very rude. And their customer service is just as bad as Central European ones. :P I guess Poland has superior culture than Spain and superior work ethics than both of them. All Italy has is it's Roman past and the art. But I've met more nice Polish people than nice Spaniards and Italians. Most Spaniards and Italians make Germans seem like the nicest people on Earth!

Tourism relies on only a few scenic or historically interesting locations within a country. It doesn't require an entire country's population to support this.

Even if other jobs like in hotels and restaurants are created, tourism can be seasonal and people don't often return to the same places when they holiday because they are always looking for something new. That or they had a very bad experience especially from other loutish tourist (like all the British who go abroad on once in a lifetime dirt cheap package holidays because they will never afford one again).

The tourism industry doesn't require any great skills and so the wages are usually very low. Some countries rely on foreign migrants to support their tourism industries because of this. But this can put tourists off especially when they are paying for an experience and looking for local authenticity but it isn't there. Indeed, who wants to visit places like Poznan, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Warsaw, etc. and run into native English speakers from the UK? E

This is why Poland has a very diverse economy that supports Polish jobs in Poland for native Polish workers.

Has a British/English person ever hurt you? It must have been a terrible experience because you seem to be so sore about them....

Shitonya Brits obviously had a bad experience in The UK.
Maybe he was one of those rare things,a lazy Pole......rare,but they do exist.
A lazy Pole would not do well in The UK,not least because British people expect Poles to out perform the native populaton..... :-)
