How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland.

I think the 850,000 or so of poles in the UK will continue to send money home, they will be not be removed from the UK, also given the two year timeline you will find that many more poles will go to the UK before the deadline , I could easily see another 1m poles in the UK.

.
As for Scotland apart from oil (Which will be gone in 20 years) they make no real financial contribution to the UK.

@ dolnoslask
not sure, think a lot of financial services (eg Scottish Widows, Bank of Scotland,) are based there.

Good point Roz, but don't forget they will have to pick up their share of the national debt, which is about 100,000

But, Just think if Scotland picked up the London banking sector which is 35% of UK GDP, Wow.

Brexit = the UK is doomed they are all doomed

financial sector make up 75% of Britain GDP.Britain needs very good negotiating team to make sure EU dont restrict Britain financial sector operating in the Otherwise it will be bad for Britain, very bad. banks will move to EU or even switzerland if they get better conditions.

Britain will gonna have to waive off even more tax to banks to keep them in London.but Sadiq Khan want to increase taxation of financial sector in order to pay for his promises such as freezing transport fares ect.and now hes demanding more autonomy for London.crazy

As side effect It would also hit other businesses - building industry, all coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, various services....

Just lots of 'disposable cash' would move abroad.

If there were a revote, LEAVE would win by an even larger margin today after seeing the leaked "superstate" reports.

Nightmare for the average London hipster, there will be riots in the street.

I doubt that very much. The UK was already outside Schengen, and was treated as a special case.

I am doings so as we speak.

A very good idea Dolno. I wasn't panicking up to now, but let's all remove our assets where we can, and screw the UK. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

This market bounce is temporary I fear. I can smell the bears' breath.

More like dead cat bounce,

Doug, the people I have spoken to in my old world of working in manufacturing is, that part of their heart would say stuff the EU bureaucrats but he real realty is that Britain is no longer in any state to dictate terms, orders are already being lost because EU buyers have got the hump over Brexit and it is only going to get worse.

I am not British. Britain would have been forced to shoulder much of recession and migrant crisis loads anyway.

Rubbish. Britain is the second highest aid contributor worldwide, and was allowed by the EU to be treated as a special case as such. Poland on the other hand, has contributed to the square root of FootballAssociation. Also known as bugger all. Because they are racist and anti-humanitarian.

If you have to comment, at least read up on the facts.

? That's exactly what I said. Are you disagreeing with my use of the term "forced" and instead feel England would willingly do it
Dougpol1  29 | 2497
29 Jun 2016 /  #228
That is not what you said. You suggested that the EU could have "forced" the UK to take migrants. If you are talking about refugees, then no.

If you are talking about people from other EU countries - they are not "migrants" LOL. They are peoples who are allowed to travel and live where they want to under European Union rules.

And Brexit will not be able to stop that, if the UK wants access to the Single Market. It is clear that the EU holds all the cards and the new Prime Minister will have to grovel. She should be good at that, after apologising for her husband's misplaced business dealings.

Seems Juncker is going to force 8 countries who were supposed to be using the Euro but arent, to use it, by force !!.

Source?

Anyway , Slowakia has survived. And good riddance to the Polish currency dealers who make a living at, what for the rest of us, is uncertainty and a widely fluctuating zloty.

Although it looks as if the UK is trying the old "Divide and Conquer" stunt again. The tabloids rave about the Danes, the Dutch, the Swedish and the French supposedly wanting out of the EU. They hope that Britain will wait with the exit until other countries in the EU follow their lead. Seems the leading political class in Britain is out to destroy Europe (again) with their backward British Empire mentality.

Personally, I love the idea of surrendering the liberty of a national military. Surely there is noway a German ran Brussels would march troops because we "aren't cracking down on racism" or "not having democratic leadership" or "need to accept North-African refugees instead of Ukrainian"

No clear understanding of a transition plan on one hand and from the other camp no indication on what the EU future direction might look like.

Completely agree with you !!!!!

I voted to remain although I sympathise with some of the concerns of the Brexit supporters. I ended up choosing to ignore the hyperbole and focus on the facts and soon realised that the Brexit campaigners had zero facts they could offer as they didn't know what would happen if we left the EU. Sadly, my fellow Brits were all too happy to vote for the country to leap into the darkness

I don't think many politicians involved in the campaign have done themselves proud. The Leave campaign persuading the electorate that everything will be better and not afraid to use Immigration as their trump card in order to win the votes. Cameron trying to play down fears that Turkey will be assured of EU membership soon but when I read his speeches from 3-4 years ago he was very clear that he wants Turkey to join as soon as possible.

I fear for the future. Our leaders cannot try to legitimise racism and then put that genie back in the bottle once it has served it's purpose and yet the paradox is that we REALLY needed an open and frank debate on immigration. I'm not sure that can happen now.

There are wider implications as we seem to be moving towards an era where the electorate are tired of the old political establishment and are prepared to support populist and nationalistic politicians like Farage and Trump.

The UK deserves what it gets by ignoring the aggressive growth of Islamic culture in the country and venting those frustration on white European migrants instead.

What parliament wants is irrelevant. There was a referendum.

Wrong actually. A referendum has no statutory power. It is basically like a big opinion poll. Parliament could choose to ignore the results...........though that could be political suicide. It's not impossible though.

not afraid to use Immigration as their trump card in order to win the votes

The biggest joke is that it was the U.K. which was the greatest advocate of EU enlargement to the east, and that it was the Tony Blair who decided to lift border controls for Central/Eastern European immigrants. Now they have the audacity to complain about immigration and foreigners taking away British jobs. Clowns.

yes mass immigration was introduced by TB and GB, how does that mean that nobody has the right to question it?
Clown.

Of course you can question it, but then you should stop blaming the EU for your own faults. Clownette... ;)
