Poland Should Beef Up Military

All I'm saying and you probably don't understand is that Iran is trying to start a war it's heading towards it!! I didn't say they did start one!

And what's I'm saying is that it is highly unlikely. Nobody has recently invaded the US, vice versa the US invaded other countries. And the Achmadinezhad's rhetoric towards the US to the large extent caused by apriori hostile attitude of the US and their permanent will to stick its nose wherever it's possible.

and if you haven been paying attention that I'll just remind you that Iran just fired a satellite in to space.

I see you didn't pay attention to mine post. Launch of satellite is a bluff.

The US makes it as if there're loads of enemies all around and they all dream about attempt upon American "democracy" and that serves for the only purpose of puffing up military budget and get out unpunished after Iraq-like oil-operations.

Will nobody want to buy our goods anymore? Does the world dislike us?

Germany is experiencing weaker export demand. Germany's reliance on foreign demand is a drag on their economy so much so that the IMF predicts that GDP will fall this year in Germany to a greater extent than GDP sinks in countries like France, Italy, or Spain.

How democratic of you!

After WWII your beloved representative democracy brought Hitler and plenty of dictatorship regimes in newly created national republics, including Poland. How can you still defend Wilson's system when we already know tragic outcome?

PS: Unified Germany now has one of the highest living standards of the world without being a military super power...go figure!

Small states are always more efficient, compare GDP per capita of smaller and bigger states in western Europe or in Central Europe. German centralized state is already socialistic and will face consequences whether you like it or not. German economy had 'crisis' already before problems in the US appeared. I have not intention to argue with you about this issue, I know that you are a socialist and such people never listen anyway.

Beside of that your attitude is silly, you seems to have a personal mission to show German politics always in good light. Unlike myself, I hate when Polish politicians are wrong and I do criticize them sharply, very often.

Please, in the east the military were told to put down arms. ... the other three sides were being bombared by Nazi's, ... fought on every front

So your point here is that the Army saved Poland? No, Celinski, as you say, the army was massacred and Poland was occupied. Poland's liberation came not at the hands of the military but decades later at the hands of the free market and the hands of the common people.

You want to refrase that last quote Mr. Bubbles?

Why should I do that? The military watched the borders. The military provided backup when the police couldn't do their job. The military effectively ran the country during martial law.

Armies enforce the will of whoever's in power - they don't save people.

Some provocation there. I'd doubt that somehow but it may well be superior. France is also a nuclear power thus a deterrent force.

Yeah sure....credit crunch and housing bubbles are so much betten than engineering and selling high quality products world wide, sure!
But of course a globalized economy will be made to suffer too even if it isn't her own fault but in the end is the producer and seller of goods better prepared to overcome all obstacles as economies who concentrate on gherkins or "financial services" alone, so no fear for Germany!:)

your beloved representative democracy

Well yes, I prefer democracy so sue me!
I really wonder why you then shoot so often against an "undemocratic" EU, it should be your cup of tea..

But to call Germany socialist is another freepy thing to say by you...but if it is it's a damned successfull socialism! :):):)

Hey BB do you know that French army is 10 time stronger than German army!! French army would take over Germany with in 15 days!

Heh...to bad that Germany will soon station troops in France again for the first time since the war.
So I think we can rule out THAT special vision :):):)

And to call Germany socialist is another freepy thing to say by you...

Germany are socialist. However nowadays socialists don't use a term "socialism" but "social welfare" . Sounds better -means the same.

Few facts about Germany:

"average economic growth beween 2001-05 was only 0.6%"

Age structure:
"0-14 years: 13.8% (male 5,826,066/female 5,524,568)
15-64 years: 66.2% (male 27,763,917/female 26,739,934)
65 years and over: 20% (male 6,892,743/female 9,622,320) (2008 est.)"

Well Russians and Germans play in one team. I don't understand why Russia thinks that "she" can decide about Polish aliances or military development.

Last time Russia threaten Poland several times ...

So weaker Russia is in Polish interest as long as Russia tries to reduce Polish suverenity.

America has nothing against Poland as strong country so American domination is in Polish interest.

Russians and some other countries have problem with Poland being stronger and making own choices ...

Stronger China isn't in western interest in general but when we look on Russia ... I have nothing against strong China.

Now Russia is allied with China but in long term .... such alliance is suicide for Russia :)

When we look on Russians politicans statements that gas supplies will be like tank divisions . Poland should look for other natural resources suppliers.

We shouldn't buy their products.

Just out of curiosity... do you have any over there except for oil and gas?

P.S. Think you understand that your message on the whole is hardly commentable.

"average economic growth beween 2001-05 was only 0.6%"

And still we are richer and more successful than most others! HOW DO WE DO THAT?

Not to mention that your data is outdated, better take that from 2007:

German Economy in Best Form Since 2000

Germany is getting back into economic shape after six meager years

Germany has won back its place as the driving force in the European economy, striding into the fastest growth for six years in 2006 and slashing its public deficit, data showed on Thursday.

The German economy, the biggest in the 13-country euro zone, expanded by 2.5 percent in 2006, its fastest rate of growth since 2000, the German federal statistics office Destatis

"2006 was a successful year for Germany," Economy Minister Michael Glos said. "The world's champion exporter is now also an economic locomotive."

Glos added that he thought Germany would be able to maintain its upswing in 2007.

"We have every reason to be optimistic about the future," he said. "The favorable 2006 GDP data is a good basis for a continuation of the upturn in 2007."

However nowadays socialists don't use a term "socialism" but "social welfare" . Sounds better -means the same

Well...we can afford it, figure that!
A rich, successful country offers a relative good and secure life not only for the broad society but even for the poorest of their society and it works!

"Baby shock: Germans are dying out."

Yeah...no breeding contest here! We are thinking about our (and our planets future) too...
Breeding like rabbits is for losers without thought if they or the environment can feed them... better is quality but quantity!

I've realized that we don't. So I've edited my post before your :) We shouldn't buy your gas because it is like heroine. :)

In my opinion it is.

Russia - wants to reduce Polish suverenity.

America, UK, France, Spain, China, Japan ... have nothing agaist Polish being suverign country.

I like Russian literature but policy of your regime towards Poland ...
Bratwurst Boy  8 | 11801
11 Feb 2009 /  #227
PS. at the end I prefere Russians than Germans :)

But you know that much help and support to build up Poland souvereignity and "strongness" comes from german pockets and not from russian, don't you?

Your polish illogicality and irrationality will be your downfall again and again...

Well, when your economy used to growth 0.6% per year for a six years in a row 2.5% is a huuuge success for the whole German nation ;-]

I didn't try it intravenously yet. Can't say for sure. :)

It is not boring Sasha I realy like Russian literature but ...

Russian policy towards Poland is hostile. We are last country in EU with gas being cut off ...

Russian policy towards Poland is hostile and Russia tries to reduce Polish suverenity.

After so many people being murdered by Russian NKVD after WWII ... I'd say nothing new

Yes, the german nation is a huge success! Thank you for agreeing!

I doubt another country would have mastered the task of bringing up a half of their country up to first world standard and rebuilding it so well and bravely without shirking their other duties and still coming out on top afterwards again...

Russian policy towards Poland is hostile.

Nor Polish is better.... Agggrreeeee?! :)

Boring is that you never attemt to see things in a positive way. I do realize that there're currently lots of problems and mutual jabs between two our countries but the position like "you're hostile and we're shiny friendly thence f*ck off" is not constructive at all and doesn't any facilitate to resolve the issue. The strength of the whole is in the power of single; and the more of those who care not shutting his eyes on the problems, the better we get along. I do believe in our really friendly future... unlike to you, I guess.

Russia doesn't respect trade agreements. Poland with gas being cut off is the best prove. That is why Europe should build Nabucco and other alternative pipe lines just to avoid Russia. After Poland other countries will be in danger.

Poland doesn't have gas.... we have paid for this gas. Why Russia cut off only Poland ?
Bratwurst Boy  8 | 11801

Poland doesn't have gas.... we have paid for this gas.

A link?

After Poland other countries will be in danger.

Oh yeah... sure... Poland first of all as the hub of the Universe. It's like to carry out surgery on eyes through the rectum. Don't you think so?

Poland doesn't have gas.... we have paid for this gas

Could I read about it? In other words... links?

Why Russia cut off only Poland ?

Why is Polish international policy based on opposing to Russia?

But...but...but...they so LOVE this mantra!

I wish it wasn't true.. :((

Poland's gas deliveries via Ukraine still short

unian.net/eng/news/news-299044.html

Poland`s national gas monopoly said Wednesday it is still suffering significant shortages in gas deliveries coming through Ukraine, long after a deal between Moscow and Kiev ended a bitter pricing dispute that prompted a temporary halt to supplies, AP reported.

Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) is receiving only 76 percent of its total contracted deliveries from Russia

Now we have 11.02.2009 and we don't have gas.

Yes, the german nation is a huuuuuuuuuge success!

Well, I won't mention the German sucesses in the last century.
Germans are a sensitive subject to me.
I really appreciate their inventions, their poets and philosophs but
20th century seems to cross out their great achievements.
I used to live and work in Hamburg (beautiful city), Germany for over one year
and I had that feeling that I'm gonna suffocate in there.
In London I feel just fine.

I doubt another country would have mastered the task of bringing up a half of their country up to first world standard

It's only a facade...
Matyjasz  2 | 1543

No, not really! He was a mad man and I doubt he really gave a shit about the Germans there, he used them as a tool.
But the feelings of the german folks was real, he rode on it to power!
Without that treaty he wouldn't had came to power in the first place, I'm sure of that...

But this treaty gave you the independence...so what now?

There really isn't an easy answer to that question. It was impossible to please both parties.

I'm sure that we still will have a different take on those events, but than again, we don't have to agree with each other on this. The important thing is that we were able to hear both versions of the event.

Prince, my questions:

1) do you personally suffer gas shortage?
2) why are you sure that Poland suffers gas shortage? considering your government's mainstream I wouldn't be any amazed if they simply made it up.

3) If this true, why are you so sure that it's Russia that should take responsibility for that shortage?

My general question is "are you sure that your view on the whole is not affected by some of your personal preferences which don't have anything to do with the objective reality"? I think that you should clear your mind of prejudices first.
