I apologise, I forgot these "young kids" need 34 weeks just to learn how to drive a car without crashing, and even then, they still needed extra lessons!
Frankly, Poland doesn't need unqualified and inexperienced buffoons "protecting" us, especially if they're such snowflakes that they "have it tough" when living a comfortable existence in the Polish countryside.
Why does BAITING, TROLLING & ABUSE come to my mind here. I wish my "Report this post" X was activated. Can you turn it back on please so I can report all three of the above post.
moving thousands of US troops close to the border of Belarus would be provocative
I believe that ground forces are of no real value in Europe. At the height of the Cold War they always said that the troops in western Europe have about 2 minutes before they get vaporized by a nuke. So why waste money?
The article said one vehicle had a problem, happens sometimes when you're towing heavy artillery. I was going to ask if you ever had problems with your car before, like a broken axle, but then I remembered you can't afford a car.
If by "military strategy", you mean "poorly trained and equipped American soliders blocking traffic in Polish cities for hours", then...yes, you're right, I'm completely unfamiliar with such embarrassments.
Another example of how the great American occupation of Poland is turning out:
rt.com/news/412533-us-army-poland-road-accident
With such unprofessionalism, we would be far better off inviting British or German forces to station themselves in Poland instead.
Who needs tanks, exactly? It's not as if the Americans will actually be able to deploy any given their inability to transport themselves from A to B without incident.
You keep speaking of "we" as if you are pretending to be a Polish citizen and not a Scottish guest in Poland which you are.
Correct me Sig but I thought I read that Russia has seven time the amount of tanks available as NATO has in the EU. A ground war would last no longer then a week if Russia decided to keep it a ground war. And why are we talking war in the first place ? America's occupation in the EU has been out dated for decades. WE are only there to boosts the EU economy as I see it.
Russia has more tanks in the Donbas region of Ukraine, than in the entirety of all European armies combined. But don't ask me, ask the military expert after he's done stapling his coloring books for tomorrows lesson.
Poland seeks permanent US troop presence to deter Russia. The Onet.pl news portal reported that Poland is seeking the permanent deployment of a U.S. armored division and is offering up to $2 billion to help build the infrastructure.
Help build ? Who's tax money pays to build the rest of it ? It says the defense ministry has written to U.S. politicians and the U.S. Congress with details of the proposal. That ought to make the Polish girls happy.
It's basically the same as hiring a security guard to protect your house... only in this case its poland hiring the u.s. and basically bribing them to maintain a permanent presence instead of rotating around.
Waste of poles money imo.. we already exceed the 2% gdp requirement which very few nato partners do.
Wed be better off starting a secret nuke program and neither confirming nor denying we have one. Or we could just outsource the whole thing. Im sure Pakistan could spare 5 to 10 nukes for 2 billion
No - a peaceful Europe is in the interests of the US. Basically doubles the size of the market for US companies, in the 50s this might of been Coca-Cola or General Motors, these days it is Amazon, Google and Apple. What is more ending the global ambitions of the UK. Germany and France also is better for US security.
If the voters of the US wished to then of course they can withdraw from protecting Europe - but that will probably lead to a nuclear armed Germany. Is there anyone would like that?
Waste of poles money imo.. we already exceed the 2% gdp requirement which very few nato partners do
NATO partners? Give the US more such "partners" and US will go bankrupt a lot sooner. Just look at that joke, Germany, and their 1.2% contribution vs the US 3.5%.
My question is: why is US paying anything? All of those weasels in Europe are just theatrical props with all the heavy hitting left for us. The US should be PAID to protect their Euro butts.
Just look at that joke, Germany, and their 1.2% contribution vs the US 3.5%.
I guess you don't understand why the Germans are holding back on that one. Given their GDP, 2% spending on the military would automatically turn the Germans into the largest military force on the continent. Nobody in Europe wants that, and Germany acts accordingly and responsibly.
but that will probably lead to a nuclear armed Germany.
They had the chance in the 1950s already, but declined if I recall correctly. Maybe this time they'll team up with the French and develop their own nuclear deterrent. Would take them a year or so, I guess. Again: nobody in Europe wants that, but if the US continue on their current path other EU nations might join the French and Germans. Then NATO is really dead, and with it the political influence of America in Europe. From there to ditching the dollar as the global reserve currency is only a small step.
Man, do I love being an ugly American.
Yup, and that sh*it attitude will bite you in the ass one day.
The USA has pretty much lost against China in the south china sea, they sail a couple of feeble ships past now reduced to being useless spectators. North and south Korea will make their own deal in the end, nothing to do with usa, China will be the major power there. Middle east has many players now including Russia and no one is listening to Washingtons Iran sanctions, even India rejected them yesterday and said they only abide by un sanctions not anything else. Germany should get nukes as should Poland no need for usa to be involved.
2% spending would turn the Germans into the largest military force on the continent. Nobody in Europe wants that...
There is a US Treasury office (we call it IRS) near me where I just delivered a check for 40 billion bucks. They took it gladly and even said thank you. Germany can do the same. Would you like the address?
I have to admit that you were funny: Germany acting responsibly by being a cheap weasel, happily riding my back.
Is flooding Europe with Muslims nobody wants also acting responsibly?
