More anti Polish sentiment in western media ("Apple is worth more than Poland")

He said it purposely to mock Poland.

And according to you he did that because he is a Jew. You fight alleged mockery with bigotry. Please do not claim to be Polish.

Always amusing to see members of Polonia spewing out the anti-semitic attitudes which they are foolish enough to believe are representative of Poles.

Based off reading ADL surveys, it seems many Poles are pretty anti-Semitic to be honest...

Dude open ur eyes.

Do you really think he's go some sort of anti-Polish agenda?

He said it purposely to mock Poland.

Nonsense.

Funny that out of those countries he just so happened to pick Poland as an example, degrading one, pointing out that a some company is worth more than a country. And funny that the author is a David Goldman. Zionist prick.

???
I'm starting to wonder if this is just a giant troll thread that some members are in on. What in the world would give anyone the idea Poland was being degraded- the numbers seem rather impassionate. If you can debate the numbers then do so but emotional outbursts serve no real purpose here, do they?

Seriously...the real concern here is that some morons are making threats against the author and his family.

Quite. The OP evidently thinks journalists should only write things which promote Poland. Laughable really.

No I do not. You just pulled that out of your ass.

Why should he choose them rather than Poland? Why should anyone take offence at the article which isn't an example of 'anti-Polish sentiment at all'? Even though the very existence of this thread here suggests there is such a thing as Pol-Am internet paranoia.

I dont mind that they chose Poland. But they consistently choose Poland in a bad light. That is the point and nothing more. One piece of a trend that you can clearly see if you follow it. You do not need to be a so called PolAm schizophrenic to see it.

I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe the author wanted to take a personal dig at Poland, but that would mean that he also wanted to take a dig at Sweden and Saudi Arabia. I think that he wanted to show how fast the value of Apple shares is going up. It is an unfortunate comparison, but I would just ignore, as I would ignore a troll on PF.

Apple's valuation is now higher than the gross domestic product of Poland, Belgium, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, or Taiwan.' Funny that out of those countries he just so happened to pick Poland as an example, degrading one, pointing out that a some company is worth more than a country.

It is odd that only Poland was mentioned in the headline. It is possible that this was done as some 'polish joke'. Additionally, as others have pointed out, the value of a country is not just the GDP but the inventory and services within it. The headline was amateurish and in poor taste.

Speaking of (the) GDP, out of the nearly 200 countries in the world, Poland is ranked 20th in that department.

Ironic coming from the most racist race on the planet. They have racism built into their religion FFS.

Yes thank you. I didn't say he wanted to destroy Poland like some ppl here interpreted my comment. All I'm saying is he took a slight dig a Poland, switching countries around in the title.

I think it's dangerous to interpret the article in any sort of negative way regarding Poland and even more dangerous to look for imaginary slights.

That's the quote. Hardly a dig; it's either accurate or inaccurate.

Sure he did.

Let's take a look at the man behind the mask, David Goldman 'is an economist and author. As a religious Jew, Goldman says that he writes from a Judeo-Christian perspective and often focuses on demographic and economic factors in his analyses; he says his subject matter proceeds "from the theme formulated by Rosenzweig: the mortality of nations and its causes, Western secularism, Asian anomie, and unadaptable Islam." Hmm. yea sure looks like a typical Americanized Jew. He sound like a Zionist anti all ****.

As a religious Jew,

What's that got to do with anything?
PennBoy  76 | 2429

Well as true Catholics who believe in everything the bible teaches them (including Jews enemy killing Jesus) religious Jews believe in the Kabbalah, that they're the chosen ones and are anti everyone and everything that opposes or threatens their beliefs.
PlasticPole  7 | 2641

That's just an intrinsic part of western religions. Catholics believe those without baptism are heathens who will be condemned to the firey, worm ridden, bowels of hell. Muslims believe they are the ones and all else are the infidels. Jews will not be left out of this manner of believing.

It's very dangerous, I agree.

Europe (and even America) is looking at Poland as a stable, grown up country - not a spoiled child that whines and complains whenever anyone makes the slightest insult about her. That stable, grown up image is good for Poland - people aren't going to put money into spoiled brats, like (for example) Serbia.

I think it’s dangerous to ignore it, as the authors who write this sort of BS are often of certain extraction with a definite agenda behind it. It’s not an oops, IMO.

Inquisitive mind? or is it your interpretive reading, looking for imaginary slights? Take it at face value; After all,I have plainly stated it’s just my opinion.

First of all the article is in no way a dig at Poland or any other country mentioned. Apple is one of the most powerful corporations in the world. The author chose countries that fit the revenue scheme that is all. Why Poland is mentioned in the title? Perhaps the author was trying to be symetrical as Poland is in the middle as far as size of countries mentioned. It is not as if Apple is worth nothing and Poland was compared to that. IMO the OP is being hyper sensitive drawing conclusions out of thin air. The object of the article was to showcase how large and powerful Apple is not how poor the other countries are. Being compared with argueably the most powerful corporation in the world is no dig it is a compliment.

That sort of paranoia is what led Poland to disaster in 2005, and before it, 1935-1939.

Being compared with argueably the most powerful corporation in the world is no dig it is a compliment.

Indeed, if Poland had the kind of global reach and power that Apple has right now (with millions of people hanging on every word that they say) - Poland would be a very wealthy country.

Looking for an "agenda" here where there isn't one is almost certainly the domain of right wing racists. No surprise that the US Polonia are screaming, as per usual.

Would you have thought that if the author's last name wasn't Goldman?

You obviously don't live in the US and don't know anything about it. If the author was comparing African Americans ghetto living standards to a third world country, it would be WWIII. But he thinks it's ok to slip in a slight mockery of Poland.

Very true.

And if an author said something negative about the jews or israel, he would instantly lose his job.

Here's a question. Why do Poles get so offended over such silly things? I swear you guys are the most sensitive people on earth. Go cry somewhere else.

False. See above.

Why is it that every single person who sees "Polonophobia" is also obsessed with Jews?

news flash, this is a zionist jew, in america, taking slight of poland, it may not even be intentional because he himself is brainwashed to say such things.

the three people posting here with "why" or "oh" your wasting your time, because these three people never have a good word for poland on here anyway

edit: obviously slighting saudi arabia and sweden and belgium, your a fool if you think a financial analyst is unintentionally comparing a countries gdp to apple
