Adam Michnik awarded for integrity, professionalism and high standards. Poland's No. 1 fascist?

highly respected Polish editor.

A highly respected "Polish"(?) editor who regards blood-dripping criminals of the Jaruzelski and Kiszczak ilk as "men of honour" and who has never called for the extraditon of his anti-Polish fugitive brother.

Yes, a highly respected Polish editor. Odd about your inverted commas.

Remember, Po, that not everyone shares your rather extreme views on politics and current affairs not least the various bodies that have given him awards for high-quality journalism.

the various bodies that have given him awards

The previous regime for spreading their propaganda for them, he surely deserved it.

The previous regime for spreading their propaganda for them

That would be the same 'previous regime' that jailed him as a dissident, would it....

No, the other regime jailed him for the other crimes, time in jail must have changed his mind so he started cooperating with the new regime. They brainwashed him so brutally that he can't stop stammering till today, has no my empathy anyway.

Very logical and cogent thinking there.

I'm quite sure you show no empathy (or sympathy) to anyone who is in any way different from you.

Very logical and cogent thinking there.

Sadly, I can't say the same about you.

I'm quite sure you show no empathy (or sympathy) to anyone who is in any way different from you.

I show no empathy to anyone malicious and Michnik is strongly in that group.

A communist. Is it a term of reproach, admiration, hatred or disgust or matter of fact?
Wulkan  - | 3136
2 Oct 2016 /  #250
it's a particularly weak example.

It's the example that is good enough to make you write a meaningless post.

Did she and her myriad gentleman callers find you in the end?

Why don't you ask Wroclaw Boy?

example

No, Wulky, that is not an example of any malice on the part of Poland's best known journalist. It is in fact a particularly weak example of clutching at straws. That is an 'example' only of your own irrational hatred towards a highly respected public figure on the basis of his ethnicity.

So in fact you have nothing really to say about the issue.

Just because you say so? That's not an argument.

Poland's best known journalist.

You must have forgotten that we talk about Michnik here so that's a bit off topic.

That is an 'example' only of your own irrational hatred towards a highly respected public figure on the basis of his ethnicity.

You failed to point out where do I mention his ethnicity.

That doesn't actually make much (or any) sense. And still, Adam Michnik, former jailed dissident and newspaper editor is highly respected.

Wulkan: the other regime jailed him for the other crimes

I wonder when Wulky will give us some details about these 'crimes'.

Just because your IQ is not high enough to comprehend written text doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.

I wonder when Wulky will give us some details about these 'crimes'

You think he went to jail for nothing?

I wonder when Wulky will give us some details about these 'crimes'.

Exactly. It's basically irrational hatred of a very highly respected and successful Pole.

We're not talking about Jaroslaw Kaczynski here.
jon357  73 | 23112

Jaroslaw Kaczynski

Much less respected than Adam Michnik.
Wulkan  - | 3136
2 Oct 2016 /  #259
If Michnik was so respected he wouldn't need the money from Geroge Soros to run commonly hated rag.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski is the lidder of the biggest party in Poland without the need of anybodies money but PiS wouldn't get 36% of the votes if Michnik was there.

Don't be so daft. The media group has wide ranging operations

run commonly hated rag.

Hated by the far-right, maybe.

lidder

Oh dear...

Hated by the far-right, maybe.

Hated by the people with common sense.

Just the first video from the GW youtube channel in which Michnik and others comment the results of the last elections. It has 18 thumbs up and 183 thumbs down. Yes he is commonly hated even on his own channel no matter you like it or not.

Oh dear...

I often spell "lidder" at work, that's why I made that mistake :-) and yes my English is better than your Polish will ever be.

You think he went to jail for nothing?

No. I think he went to jail for opposing the communists...... quite unlike some people here who can't forgive him for that.

Should we conclude, Wulky, that as you've been asked to go into detail about the crimes you claim Mr Michnik committed and you've replied with nothing except off-topic ad hom trolling that even you have realised that you made something of a mistake when posting such a laughable falsehood?
Wulkan  - | 3136
3 Oct 2016 /  #264
laughable falsehood?

Laughable falsehood like saying that Polish government invited me to Poland to show how to teach Russian language? Nah, I ever said that, you did.

Should we conclude, Wulky, that as you've been asked to go into detail about the crimes you claim Mr Michnik committed

He was in jail that's what we know and he claims that it was for fighting communists, maybe he repeatedly punched his communist mother in the face and they locked him for that. In that case his claim wouldn't be a lie.

He was in jail that's what we know

Once more you show the PiS centric absolute faith in the police force of the PRL. Well done!

And.... you have no backup for your weird claims. Quelle surprise!

Michnik was a part of illegal commission that searched through the archives of Security Service (Służba Bezpieczeństwa) for a couple of months in 1990 - the commission was supposed to be secret but there were some leaks

wpolityce.pl/historia/213976-krzysztof-wyszkowski-o-tajnej-komisji-michnika-ds-zbadania-archiwow-sb
it's the first link I found - I have read about the issue already in the 90's in a Mikke paper

Exactly, and he's still one of the most respected living Poles.

And.... you have no backup for your weird claims.

I don't think he would be sitting and laughing at one table with people like Kwaśniewski or Urban if he really suffered prison sentence for fighting communism. That's just my personal opinion.

and he's still one of the most respected living Poles.

Too bad there is no chance you can prove it in any way, therefore the argument about it is pointless.

most respected living Poles

Pole? A misnomer surely. Both ethnically and poltically alien -- his red borugeosie upbringing and his "soft on communism" behaviour is hardly a typically Polish attitude. He has never once condemned or called for the extraditon of his Stalinist brother Stefan with Polish blood on his hands.

Maybe he's just a better person than you, putting aside personal grievances so the country could move forward. When as Kaczyński ever put personal grievances aside?
