Are Polish People Being Discriminated Against? Problems getting a US visa.

The very idea that Poland is being singled out and discriminated against by US immigration policy is hilarious. I swear Poles claim victim status more than about any culture I know.

Why do Poles think they are so special to be discriminated against so exclusively?

Its complex question.

Don't judge him too harshly !

I didn't know anything about it. I judge him by his expressions. He get's what he deserves.

Current policy of USA government seems to be set at build up anti-American sentiment in Poland - which almost not existed there before!

You are a goddamn idiot. How many times does it have to be explained to you? Poland as a nation has not been following policy. Why is there no said "sentiment" against the Slovaks and Czechs? You think the US government actually prefers them to Poland???

you're right about that. This is not about sentiment or discrimination, it's about immigration policy based on bad statistics that Poles have overstaying visa.

USA have at the moment about 20 millions illegal immigrants from Latin America and Asia and Africa, so why bother about 2 , 3 or 5 millions potential immigrants from Poland?

Most of them are most likely Mexican, a few could be Canadian, too, but no one makes a big deal about the Canadians. If anyone should be yelling 'bias and prejudice' it should be the Mexicans. We have a lot of illegal Mexican immigrants because we share a border and they can easily sneak in. My guess is the govt has it's hands full with this so they try to discourage illegal immigration.

why?

I don't think the government cares. It almost seems like a tool in finishing off the American middle class. America simply cannot compete with China so things are turning pretty Chinese by use of cheap labor from Mexico.

I don't think Poles are discriminated any more than other nations. Heck, many Canadians complain about US birder crossings. I got eventually sick with the US border. Not so much gong into the US but leaving it. They checked people LEAVING the US.
PlasticPole  7 | 2641

why?

Because Americans complain about them more than illegal immigrants from other parts of the world. It's always "illegal immigration from Mexico" and there's a fence along parts of the US/Mexican border. You don't see one along the border with Canada and *news flash* that's where the terrorists have tried to enter the country...

Of course people complan. they complain about Poles, Mexicans, Canadians, Black, Asians. That's what people do, especially when the times are touch.

Still, how many Mexicans are being deported?
Don't they have free access to US medicare? Education?

You don't see one along the border with Canada and *news flash* that's where the terrorists have tried to enter the country...

And they were caught because the US/Canadian border is pretty close to being a real border. The one with Mexico is a farce. The US spends billions on defense and Homeland Security, while a big gaping hole called the border with Mexico is wide open. It's like installing security alarms on the bathroom vents but leaving the doors and windows open.

how do you know if nobody has the slightest clue who gets through?

It's not clear how many terrorists or people having connections to terror groups may have entered the US as OTMs. But FBI Director Robert Mueller, in a House Appropriations Committee hearing March 9, said he was aware that individuals from countries with known Al Qaeda ties had entered the US under false identities.

Well, nobody get's what one deserves:)
Don't be upset by someones remark on the Internet!

guess

Thank you for your guess but its only .....guess.

I don't think Poles are discriminated any more than other nations

Thats your opinion , everyone can form his own opinion on the subject:)

So drop in visas refusal in Warsaw and stricter law in USA (from 10% to 3%) is pure and simple coincidence?

Could someone explain above? Its a fact not guess or opinion:)

you're right about that. This is not about sentiment or discrimination, it's about immigration policy based on bad statistics that Poles have overstaying visa.

I love you ! You are so naive and full of trust:)

You are a goddamn idiot. How many times does it have to be explained to you? Poland as a nation has not been following policy. Why is there no said "sentiment" against the Slovaks and Czechs? You think the US government actually prefers them to Poland???

Watch your temper, and stop calling names!!.I'm not talking about sentiments but about effects of policy of the USA government.
Policy FEDERAL government of USA is pursuing in regard to Poland is starting to have a very real effect - anti-American sentiment is being born.

Thats not opinion or guess that the sad fact.
Its amazing, I mean your blind trust in your federal government - Sorry but I find it really hilarious!

But that isn't the place where the terrorists enter the country :D

Do you know exact spot? :)

this is what you want to believe. Imagination is all you got :-)
It's not very smart to make statements like that without knowing a person, don't you think?
When I said think I didn't mean to insult you :-)
One more advice for you ironside, don't play a game that you can't win.

We're blind because our goverment won't let you in whenever you want, let you stay however long you want? Let you skip whatever rules that apply to everyone else?

anti-American sentiment is being born.

Being born? It's probably a teenager by now. We're hated no matter we do. It's funny to most of us now. It doesn't really matter.

BTW: The evil old US Goverment is a key reason communism is not around anymore in Poland.

Seriously, how old are you? You are very simple minded.

The US is such an easy target for criticism because its usually the first nation to stand up and say 'i'm not taking this, i'm going to do something about it' The uS is criticised for everything from its foreign policy to its domestic laws. The US is a leading world power if not the, leading world power, everybody loves to get in line to have a shot.

I'm British and am sick and tired of listening to the rubbish talked about the US and other 'powerful' world nations, a lot of the time its jealousy or just ignorance. It must be hard for any governement to run a nation with a population of 700 Million, i mean for god sake the Chinese haven't even got past communism yet and America takes the flack for the smallest things.

I'm not a fan of everything US, in fact far from it, they could learn not to shoot at our troops (The Brits) and concentrate more on the enemy, they could also do with getting their laws sorted out (LIke having the same accross all States) apart from that though their not a bad lot :)

excellent answer

We're hated no matter we do. It's funny to most of us now. It doesn't really matter.

It's a same when they're calling us arrogant. What the hell they expect, us being nice after having to hear the same ole crap about our country and people? Just look how they react on this forum when you just disagree with them. It tells you everything.

How true, thank you :-)

hey, nothing against healthy criticism, we do it too.

I have no doubt that in others matters you are far from naive :)

Yeah and this is them uncensored. I've come to the conclusion they're basically not all that smart. For the most part, except for the Irish and Italians, you're better off avoiding the European if you're American. Don't travel there either. You'll just be harassed. My opinion.

so what would your alternative be??

Amanda I think I love you

yeah i love you too and this is the first time i've posted to you, lol (j/k)

As for immigration, i've been saying for ages that the UK & US need a workable effective immigration policy, its not difficult and could be introduced at anytime.

I have no problem with people coming to the UK who are going to benefit this country but if they have nothing to offer and just want to live off the state they can just turn round and jump back on whatever plane, bus or underside of a lorry they came on and go back ;) SIMPLE

now you're trying to be a typical Polish smarta**. I've met plenty of your kind in Poland.
I told you not to play a game that you can't win. Making this statement you showed everyone here your real face. How does it feel to be a born underachiever and the civilized World's most favorite jester? Do us a favor and make more stupid statements like the last one and you'll beat decisively the well known commercial for Polish vodka.

No you are blind because you support everything what US Government does and you believe everything US government says - its not exclusively about visas.

What rules? Rules keep changing .....

Being born? It's probably a teenager by now. We're hated no matter we do. It's funny to most of us now. It doesn't really matter.

Are you on medication scrappy? Because I have never said about hate ! Right now is disappointment- got it?
You see enemies everywhere ? you losing it man!

BTW: The evil old US Goverment is a key reason communism is not around anymore in Poland.

oh pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

Seriously, how old are you? You are very simple minded.

I think the same about you......seriously:)
I'm old enough to hold university degree and work for living so I don't have time to write essays about my views on certain subjects.

What about you ? are you in some nursing home for crazy vets ?
I'm asking questions for a reason but I will not take an opinion for definite answer.

Listen all this anti-US just because a few Polaks get refused a VISA!!!!! Really is that what this is all about, were not school children in here, we are adults i hope???

The US or any other country for that fact has a right to decide who and who does not have permission to enter their country. Surely that is one of the fundamental rights of a nation, to be able to select who and who does not come into the country. Sometimes i think the world is becoming to obsessed with this 'freedom to move' than is healthy.

Otherwise what is the point in having borders?? If you let every ski, scu and abdul into the coutnry there will be no control on the population and the potential for over population becomes a real issue. (for the UK anyway, we are a small island)

oh pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

You think it's funny? We helped to bankrupt the Soviet. Any historian will tell you that.

Are you on medication scrappy?

I think you need some, Iron Balls. Funny how you never got back to me why Slovaks and Czechs are allowed into the US and you're not. Just a complete hate campaign geared toward the nation of Poland, right?

What about you ? are you in some nursing home for crazy vets ?

Veteran but not in a nursing home.

I'm old enough to hold university degree and work for living so I don't have time to write essays about my views on certain subjects.

You don't have time to write sense either. You are an emotional kid echoing what your communism-era parents /grandparents tell you. You've never even set foot in the US, which is good becaue WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?? Who the hell are you to dictate policy to us?

All the things you accuse us of you do times 10. You are nothing but stupid generalizations typical of a European or Canadian. You don't even know what you're talking about.

if you don't like Europeans etc etc who do you want in your country?? I mean look how many people in America are not actually American by birth. What immigration policy would you like to see in the states or are you just against the Poles??? if so why???

ow and know i'm not Polish, i'm from the UK and just interested in why you talk so lowly of the Poles, Europeans etc??
scrappleton  - | 829
5 Aug 2009 /  #239
Turn about is fair play.. that's why. They do it to us constantly. No you're goddamned right I don't like the European. UK being some of the worse. I see them as lazy whiners who constantly criticize. F*uck them. Who are we to apologize to you?? Why because we live better?

if you don't like Europeans etc etc who do you want in your country??

How about the 290 million plus Americans already here? They're enough for me. My own people are enough. I don't need some arrogant European coming over here and demanding some special treatment and upper management job. How's that, limey?

the UK complaining about the Americans?? really?? when have we been doing that, what apology are we asking for?? Its strange the way you speak about the UK considering a lot of your cities. towns etc are named after English cities and towns :) I'm interested to know where your bitterness comes from, what inspired it??

How about the 290 plus Americans already here? They're enough for me. My own people are enough. I don't need some arrogant European coming over here and demanding some special treatment and upper management job. How's that, limey?

what demanding?? nobody is demanding?? well not from the UK anyway as far as i know. If somebody goes to the US from the UK i can promise you any position they acquire in your country is 'worked for' rather than handed out.

i'm shocked at your hatred, especially as it seems based on unfounded information somebody has fed you, or that you have dreamed up yourself.
