America knows very well that profits are made from war. Tell me, what was the rationale for Vietnam? Was it a run out for troops, anti-communism, what? You want your money back? Go and run to Raytheon, Lockheed Martin or the other 5 arms firms that sit on the ATC.

yawwwnn.. so anyway..

avoiding commenting on IMF and the World Bank politics

Ahh you didn't ask me anything about it. I can't avoid an imaginary question, can I??.. What are you ******** about now? We don't pay enough into it or something?

You have just proved my point, scrappy. Your laziness costs you. So many Americans just don't care enough. You are callous! You are very easily exploited!

The 'go back to bed America' sketch of Bill Hicks is so relevant.

You are part Polish and proud when it suits you. Proud of Copernicus?

Proud of Copernicus?

Oh yeah, every minute of the day. The earth revolves around the sun. I p.ss my pants with excitement about it. ???

The 'go back to bed America' sketch of Bill Hicks is so relevant.

That's a comedy sketch, dude. :-( You know entertainment? .. Funny how you introduce Hicks into all kinds on your "intellectual" debates.

You have just proved my point, scrappy. Your laziness costs you. So many Americans just don't care enough. You are callous! You are very easily exploited

Look go to hell you damn clown.. Easily exploited? We live in the richest country on the planet? A lot of people would like to be "exploited" like we are. You are a rambling twit.

BEAT IT.

Be glad to be alive and to have God's blessing :)

Intellectual debates? That's not my intention. Hicks was a really smart guy anyway.

You are confusing two things. Being rich doesn't equate with being easily expolited. I meant by the media and by other forces.

Beat It? Ok, I knew you'd come round in the end.
Michael Jackson for ya :)

Beat It? Ok, I knew you'd come round in the end.

What do you know about the negative impact of those 2 organizations?? I will be waiting for your answer my friend:))))))

moving right along..

I'm not your friend ass wipe.. What did you expect a book report about it? I know what it is in general. I'm failing to see how it's the evil arm of America though. Maybe you don't know anything about it.

What did you expect a book report about it?

I'm failing to see how it's the evil arm of America though.

I have never said that.

Maybe you don't know anything about it.

oh, I do, but you can read as well, can't you?

We live in the richest country on the planet?

It depends how you look at it. In terms of GDP per capita you're in
10th position in the world.

A lot of people would like to be "exploited" like we are.

That is correct. That's why they keep coming to your country in droves and that's
why, as I said before, you must be doing something right to attract all those people
from all over the world. Looks like US, despite having some terrible as*sholes as
yourself, is still a great country with great potential. Too bad that your foreign
policies towards other countries are very often unfair.

If America had to pay off all their debts, where would they be?

Torq just summed America up in the second para.

Well you kicked that LowFunk guy out of your country. He's a student and was paying taxes. You don't see us starting threads about it and crying about the complete injustice of it.

Well you kicked that LowFunk guy out of your country. He's a student and was paying taxes.

He was ejected from Poland for not having a work permit. He was led to believe
that he doesn't need one and because of that he's in trouble now. I'm quite sure
that if he applied for it, he would get it without any problem (and certainly he
wouldn't be refused because of his nationality).

You don't see us starting threads about it and crying about the complete injustice of it.

That's because it doesn't happen very often. It's just a sporadic case.

Lowfunk99, go to the second page of the forum and look about 6 posts down. You can PM the member called TrinityLegal. He was here earlier and, as I said, I'll let you know when he's online.

Legal service for expats living in Poland is the name of the thread. Message him, he may well get back to you.

The US relaxed visa restrictions (i.e. got rid of them) from the Baltic States and Czech Republic but not Poland because Poland had a too-high rejection rate for visas. Once the rejection rate comes down, all the restrictions will be removed.

Yes.. Thank God in Heaven. All us stupid bastards who've managed to create one of the most successful societies ever, not even 250 years old. We know why you hate us.. you'd hate us if there were no visa restrictions, it wouldn't matter.

Successful ? You mean powerful ...
Nihil novi sub sole :)
Its nothing new, every Empire on Earth as soon as become one, were looking for an explanation of the reason they become so successful.
No surprises there ...every one of them come to a conclusion that its so because there special (read better) !
Do you recognize yourself scrappy? ;) its amusing - I mean your believe that because you are an American you are better :)
And your indignation and anger when "lesser beings" don't see it your way.
Manifest Destiny, special place in the Gods plans its all come from puritans from New England - they had that thingy about being Chosen Children of God and about building New Israel in New land.

Its common dream to start afresh but its only a dream;)
Anyway treatment of the girl by USA officials it is something you should be ashamed of ...
What next they start shoot people for a traffic offenses ?

The US relaxed visa restrictions (i.e. got rid of them) from the Baltic States and Czech Republic but not Poland because Poland had a too-high rejection rate for visas. Once the rejection rate comes down, all the restrictions will be removed.

Who cares?
But its a bullish anyway and why people have to pay for a privilege of applying for visa - 100$ ?
Torq
Stop arguing in such a way you do with scrappelton it doesn't look good , sorry my opinion :)

Who cares? The US Gov't cares, for one. Certain benchmarks have to be met before the restrictions can be lifted.

Payments are because for the cost of processing. The embassy isn't making money off visa application fees.

Look, I'm for removing visa restrictions.

Do you recognize yourself scrappy? ;

Do you? You're just as arrogant as me. You in particular think if somebody farts in a room it must have been soley intended for the Pole's nose. Ridiculous.. There is no genuine manifest hate for the Polish in the United States. Aside from probably Jews. I will neither confirm or deny that though. Honestly, I don't pal around with Jews.. so I really don't know.

I mean your believe that because you are an American you are better :)

You guys always say this stuff - Okay, you're better than us. Happy? Frankly, I don't really care. I don't get up everyday and beat my chest with some Tarzan yell because I'm American. I don't view it as an empire really. I'm not going to debate you anymore, Torq maybe, not you. You remind of a dog chasing its tail.

We'd be better off it's countries that are holding our debt (like China) who would miss out.

Look, I'm for removing visa restrictions.

Listen, I'm not interested in removing visa restriction:)
For all I care USA government can keep those restrictions in place for ever.
All I want is for others to recognize that such restrictions are nothing more then political games and in a way it is discrimination of Poland.

Who cares? The US Gov't cares, for one. Certain benchmarks have to be met before the restrictions can be lifted.

Could you explain in plain English what is all about?
Because so far I understand that certain number of Polish citizens are refused visas to USA and based on the quota of those refusals US government is forming is visa policy?!

Its seems like a catch22 :)
Embassy in Warsaw should give more visas and problem is solved - question - why they refuse visas to so many people?
PlasticPole  7 | 2641
20 Jul 2009 /  #174
They probably refuse the ones who don't qualify and grant visas to the ones who do. It's the same complaint from other places in the world, not just Poland. People all over complain about the agony they go thru getting a US Visa.

He was ejected from Poland for not having a work permit.

No, he was ejected for overstaying his tourist visa. Although the working without a work permit thing didn't really help his case.

That's a pretty stupid statement. There is no such "discrimination."

There is no "Catch-22."

There are a certain percentage of people who apply for a US visa and are denied. This percentage is too high and deemed unacceptable by the US Government. Countries like the Baltic States has percentages that were much lower, so the Government deemed that there was no much risk of illegal immigration from these countries.

The people that do the interviews at the embassy at trained to judge and evaluate the interviewees.
They refuse applicants because they:
A) Think the people are lying. i.e. Giving a reason to go the US, when all the really want to do is immigrate illegally.

B) They think that the person applying for the visa has no intention of returning to Poland.
C) They apply for work visas when they do not have proof of employment (i.e. a note from a US employer saying "I have promised this person has a job here.")

You might say, "Well who cares if they emigrate to the US?" But the Government is not interested in people who do not have jobs coming and many fear that the State will have to support them (through stuff like Welfare.)

It's all about the risk of people trying to stay illegally in the States. When the State Dept. decides that this risk is low—which right now it isn't, because there are a lot of Poles who are denied visas—the restrictions will be totally removed.

Do you? You're just as arrogant as me

Well, but its only me, And it has nothing to do with my country or government :)

There is no genuine manifest hate for the Poles.

You still don't get it! Do you ?
We are discussing American government not American people for you there no difference ...happy days ...

You in particular think if somebody farts in a room it must have been soley intended for the Pole's nose. Ridiculous.

Oh ! I know how insignificant Poland is nowadays but I hope it will change:)
Well, if all people in the room fart in the face of a Pole its not ridiculous anymore.

Really?, you are not that cartoon character from American Dad? :)
You will not debate me because you have not arguments apart from petty insults and generalizations.

That's a pretty stupid statement. There is no such "discrimination."

Well, I said in a way it is discrimination :)
Its explains - there are is every reason to treat Poland better then for example - Baltic states!

The people that do the interviews at the embassy at trained to judge and evaluate the interviewees.

What if people in the embassy are biased because in the past Poles indeed overstayed their visas?

However I thank You for your explanations I can recognize quality when I see one :)

And it was a political decision :) back to square one?

Its funny as I have been succumbed to participate in that pointless discussion about visas.
I wanted only to express my disgust about the way the US official treated the Polish girl!
I also wanted ask scrappy about his opinion on the subject of the Polish girl but now I cannot as he is not talking to me because he is afraid:)

Ah! Also he is a man of integrity - maybe :)
I'm disappointed though that he is not that cartoon character from American Dad, dam !

Scrappy will bail out when he is confronted with rational arguments that are backed up by facts. Don't let him take it down to mindless ranting as he has a penchant for that.
