Lech Walesa vs Immigration: Brits humiliated him at London Heathrow Airport

It will be a disaster for Western Civilization.

It never led to a disaster when countries had open borders for centuries and centuries before.

You lot who believe the media spoon feeds you are a strange bunch. Always pessimistic, always against change and the betterment of man.
Humans have survived generations and generations of moving from country to country, from continent to continent. We enjoy moving and challenges. Image where you'd be if your ancestors had never left his cave in Africa in the hope of finding pastures greener?

This anti-immigration is pure, media-fed nonsense. We are all sons and daughter of immigrants and our sons and daughter will all give birth to emigrants as well.

It human nature to move and to find places where we can live better, happier lives.

This blog post from the Daily Telegraph is a bit of a kneejerk conservative thing and says perhaps more about journalists' techniques and attitudes than Polish immigration to the UK, however it is still very worth reading.

This was a ridiculous insult to one of the greatest heroes generated by Poland.

Would be the same as let their f****ing queen naked on Chopin Airport.

Ridiculous. Pathetic. Utterly Disgusted.

Unfortunately this happened during the weak Komorowski times. Now with a leader like Duda, had that happened again, would not pass so quietly.

Yawn. Duda would probably enjoy every second of it, given that Wałęsa is hated by PiS.

Try harder.

By the way, Komorowski will prove in time to be a far stronger leader than the puppet Duda.

Rubbish. He went through the normal screening procedures that anyone without a diplomatic passport is subject to if deemed appropriate.

Now with a leader like Duda, had that happened again, would not pass so quietly.

Duda would relish it - he hates Walesa. And if he decided to make trouble, the answer would be the same - "get lost".

But good to know that the search function works with 'London' as the search term where you are.

I actually get the feeling that Duda would rather tell him to shut up than anything else.

Still, got to love these expert Polish political opinions by South Americans that live in Saudi, eh?

delphiandomine, i am not whoever you are thinking i am.

but it is good to know that there are more people with common sense like me.

jon, did you read the article? This is not about a screening procedure, this was about a arrogant and disrespectful way that the british officer treated Walesa.

Read it years ago, long before you dredged the thread up for whatever strange reason. He was treated like anyone else in the same circumstances - being a Knight of the British Empire as Lech is doesn't confer any special status at airports, nor is he a diplomat.

Everyone can make their arguements. Its all nit picking, at the end of the day, they singled him out and completely disrespected him. Even if they were just doing their job, they made a spectical of it.

They didn't disrespect him at all. Security in the UK is known to be thorough and usually over-the-top - he was treated like everyone else.

Bear in mind that we should be glad that no-one gets special treatment there.

they singled him out

They have strict criteria to follow when deciding who to check.

and completely disrespected him

They treated him in the same way as anyone else - why would they do otherwise?

they made a spectical of it.

Nonsense. The only person to make a spectacle was him, huffing and puffing and expecting to circumvent the rules.

yes, this was very interesting topic and true, still worth to be actual. But i really don`t understand why Brits needed to rape Walesa, to humiliate him publicly at the airport. It for sure was kind of message to Poles

Is it that what awaits Poles in ``United`` Kingdom? Kind of rape?

Don't be silly. It was just a normal check. He probably thought he was entitled to some sort of special treatment. He already gets VIP treatment at Heathrow anyway. Just (like anyone else other than diplomats or serving heads of state) not at customs or security. Even Bill Clinton and George Bush aren't exempt...

Normal check with wild finger? That check?

Poles will remember every humiliation and penetration. Don`t complaint when Polish finger finds you.

It never led to a disaster when countries had open borders for centuries and centuries before.

Centuries and centuries before you had to work to eat. Today, you just google for the nearest welfare office where my money will happily jump into the pocket of a foreign illegal scumbag. If not as cash, it will be medical care. Or schools for his kids. And I don't like this one damn bit.
