Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?!

Well, isn't this a contentious issue? I'm have mixed feelings about this whole thing (and I'm quite surprised that he would be buried there.)

i watched Medvedew interviev for "russia today"and one could see how affected he was by this death.i dont thing so it would be the case if it was moron Kwasniewski.

I im not really into politics but i didnt feel sorrow after death of John Paul 2.But for some reason i was realy sad by death of Kaczynski.

All leaders showed their horror and sadness about the crash and his early demise. It is called decency and they would do it with everyone who would have been PL-president.

Definitely no. He became a loved leader after his death. While he was alive, he was "loved" by no more, than 20% of Poles, while a majority thought he was an inappropriate person for this office.

Counting myself within this majority, I really admired Lech Kaczyński for his trials to improve relations with Jews, Ukrainians and Lithuanians, even against his party. Unfortunately, these were the only cases of LK going against his party's line. And I'm sad, that Jarosław Kaczyński managed to spoil mourning and divide Poles with such an idea. He must have known it would be a provocation. No one would say a bad word about LK, if Jarosław had not come with it.


Wannabe is not enough. Poniatowski is remebered for commanding Polish forces in Napoleonic Wars and dying in a battle, Sikorski is remembered for commanding Polish forces in exile during WWII and dying on that occasion, Piłsudski is remembered as a father of independence and CiC during the Polish Soviet War (although his merits for Poland could be debated). Does Kaczyński really fit there? He will be remembered as a president, who died in an aircrash.

Very true, he really didn't shape up to their stature. They were streets ahead in their commitment to Polish causes. LK was a patriot, yes, but his actions were not seen in the same light/vein as real Polish heroes.

Seanus, are you a moron or something? Kaczynski wasn't invited to the ceremony. As President, someone who is supposed to represent the state at just these kinds of ceremonies, it was his duty to go anyway, invited or not. The fact that Tusk and the Russian government backstabbed him, didn't deter him from taking part in a very, very important ceremony for all Poles. You've lived in Poland how long, Seanus? And you still don't know that? You must be taking in too much lead my friend, your brain is really behind.

What have you done for Poland, oh Polish Patriot, to even have a say in saying who is, and who is worthy? Why do you live in the States instead of building our country up, like Kaczynski had as a mission?

First off, no. Yes, he wasn't invited, that's right. His duty, says who? How many times did he go before? Where did I say that they didn't backstab him? They did and LK was fed up of being snubbed.

Ask my wife that, I often criticised him and his brother. I made a point of not criticising on the day of his death and the immediate aftermath. I, unlike others, towed a consistent line.

If you look at many posts closely, you will see the merit in them, Filios. I'm not into pretending to have numerous friends btw. Many do that on FB and it's sad. At least I'm well educated, respectful and highly successful on many fronts.

LK can be buried there because it is in the private, Catholic part of the grounds which is not res publicae. His daughter also wished it, although she would have preferred somewhere closer to her place of residence.
