where are you from?? i mean live?? just so i can get it straight what you mean by your sentence
It is difficult to narrow the inventor of the internet down to one person or invention
Agreed. My remark showed that.
Berners Lee is widely accepted as the inventor of the internet as he was the creator of embedded hyperlinking between web pages.
You are mixing two concepts here. HTTP (used for HTML) is just an application layer. Internet was operational by 1981, HTML spec were first proposed in early 1990's, and they followed many other application layers already in existence, SMTP (used for email) being one of them.
AD HOMINEM!
You started. I bounced it back, so stop behaving like a spoiled kid.
SO ARE U GOING TO ADMIT UR STATEMENT ABOUT MY STATEMENT WAS FALLACIOUS OR NOT?
It wasn't. Yours was simply stupid. You claimed that foreign PhDs in the US consitute 0.05% of the population. The population of the US is 300 mil. There are just over 16 million graduates in the US, which makes it 0.05333... % of that population. It's all simple arithmetic. Go back to school. Oh, and I don't mean a graduate school. Waaaaay to early for you.

i wouldn't quite say that you appreciate them more, maybe there is just less of a public voice about immigration. You must remember that the US is a much bigger country than the UK and you have just a little more space for a few extra workers, students etc :)
I know all about how small the UK is. The only voice we have regarding immigration is the illegal. I can't truely understand immigration from the UK's perspective, so it's almost pointless to comment on this. I can understand the Brit's are aggrivated by the numbers, but I can also understand why the PL are leaving for better opportunity. I'd prob. do the same if I was raised in PL, but i don't think I'd chose the UK. There are many of other countries that offer sth special, but the language barrier in these other countries would be a problem.
Polish people should come to Canada. In my unprofessional opinion, we are a vast empty land that needs more people. Welcome :)
At least they can come without a visa for 3 months now. Just don't expect any free handouts and you'll do fine :)

By a few i mean like less than .05% of the population.
So I never said less than? here is a logical statement invalidate if if its fallacious.
If i said less than .05% of the population then I did not mean they constituted .05% of the population and I meant that any percent less than .05% would be correct. =) Invalidate it with a deduction then!

or you can just come to the UK for free and get all the hand outs you want, lol.

ok, then do the math for 0.04999999999999999999999%.
There, you gained a hair of one person. Feel free to consider it a US born person, ir an immigrant.
RockyMason - you are still in school? that is great! and good for you. But DO check your facts before and maybe get out of CA a little more? Ah...perhaps you were still wearing a diaper when the biggest boom of "imports" was happening (i was not even referring to PhD's) ...
And before you call anyone a moron, especially pertaining to the lack of knowledge or improper use of english language...look at your own
(
... your use of word "like" is improper here. And mind - some people on this forum are very likely using english as their second language (i do too)....so not bad, not bad at all! doing quite well!

Again u are making fallacious statements!! Yes that case scenario could b correct! Is it correct? U can't prove it but yes it is less than .05%. However less than .05% is ambiguous mean that any case scenario less than .05% could be correct. I never proclaimed wat the real % was i just said it was less tha .05%. So then in the statment less than 100% of people use drugs I am correct. =D Does that mean im sayin 99.9% of people use drugs NOPE! U should go join the military zdarius they promise u UP TO 40,000$ FOR COLLEGE. UNDER UR LOGIC THAT WOULD MEAN 39999$ THEN RIGHT?
" Therefore the humble is the root of the noble. The low is the foundation of the high."
Okay get used to slang and improper words mocksha! The English spoken is full of slang terms and improper grammar!!! Im not going to think twice on a post just to help some silly foreigners who can't understand it!
I never proclaimed wat the real % was i just said it was less tha .05%.
Not really. This is what you said:
I meant that any percent less than .05% would be correct.
Therefore, the 0.04999999999999999999999% I proposed is correct as per your own conditions.
Again u are making fallacious statements!!
You wouldn't be able to tell a fallacious statement from a logical one if you tripped over it. You don't even have the intelligence to verify what you really wrote before throwing in yet another bull, let alone to remember your own post.
Now go to your daddy and apologize for wasting his money on his intelligence resistant offspring. You are such a waste of gene pool.

Remember we are arguing about wat I said not wat u said! So initially when u made this statement can u finally admit u were wrong?
The statment u claim I made I never made. Ur statement about the .049% is correct however it is not correct to say I made a specific statement regarding the actual percent of PHDs. I never made a claim regarding wat i believed to specifically be the % of PHDs..... u simply misinterpreted! Are u really so stubborn that u can't admit u were wrong u just admitted you were!
I have an IQ of 162 Im techincally almost ingenius so shush about the intelligence thing! Wat do u do for a living Darius? =)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Okay so ur telling me that there are many executives in the USA and important business ppl who don't know english? HA Im not talking about external trading for goods i am talking about living and working in the US. Ur english is terrible i don't think ur quite understanding my post. If u mean experts yes we import a few PHDs im sure to work on very special projects. By a few i mean like less than .05% of the population.
Do u enjoy arguing so much that u won't admit wat u do wrong just to argue? I think thats y u kept saying BS b/c u just knew i'd respond lol. U were wrong though and are wrong when u say that u were not wrong. The whole argument here was to show that wat i said would b valid. It was =) If u cannot c that then seriously I highly doubt any unversity would ever award u a degree!

Wow! Then the majority of people with advanced degrees in the US are foreigners.

You confuse your height in centimeters with an IQ. It's not the same buddy.
Also, there is nothing in IQ tests about the mythical king, so I don't even know why you mention him. So technically, reading the above, your IQ appears to be in upper double digits.

So who am I to believe u or the Psychiatrist with the MD and my counseler with a MA in psychology? U still can't admit u were wrong so nothing u say carries any credibility! If u never accept that u are wrong then it must b awefully difficult to ever learn anything!
Rocky have you been to Europe....???
Yep ive been to... london, brussels, lucerne, zermatt, munich, rotenburg, amsterdam, paris, and austria. If italy and the mediterranian count ive been to alot more!
not sure what you meant by "if"....RockyMason?
you poor bastard....read the book by Susan Jacoby "the age of american unreason" ....(we all need to read it!!) but that might help you understand more about your so called "high IQ score"....K? pretty please? promise?.... as you will find out some day - arrogance is NOT a good thing...most (normal) people i know with (real) high IQ scores would never make it a public statement....just fyi...stop being childish...
and you should have never made the "0.05%" statement in a first place....it makes it sound as if you chose a "safe approximate" because you had NO IDEA what the real numbers are....it makes no sense in a first place (way too vague) .....
tha tha....cheers!

That is true.. all the cramping us limitations.. expensive schools, no insurance, no job opportunities without work papers. I loved US and it was a heart-breaking experience for me to leave but I could not stay there anymore with my hands tied. N.

A surprising number of Polish immigrants are packing up, closing their bank accounts, and leaving the United States
Sounds a little like Carpetbaggers.
How about "Polish expats leave America for Europe"?Anyway, not only Poles are leaving.I personally knew whole bunch of Lithuenians and Latvians who left US about 2 years ago. Before that left they maxed out their credit cards. But I don't think this is any problem for US, since I see many new LEGAL expats from Somalia and Tchad.

You were illegal, right? Bit rich to be complaining.
You come from the biggest nation of immigrants the world has ever known. Bit rich to be complaining.

I was really surprised by a statistic recently pulished (I posted is somewhere already), that in US the wealth of a black or latin single women is about $100-150, while for white single women is over $41,000! It's not the black or spanish statistic that surprises me, it's the white single women. You go girls!

I was surprised by a statistic I read that the Irish diaspora are the richest in America.
I don't know if it is true but if it is even close to being true it is impressive, since Irish people were not wanted and treated like sub-humans for quite a while.
I will try to find the link.
It is also what I love most about America, that with hard work and some good ideas anyone can make it :)

this just sounds like nature taking it's course. Poles can move around more freely now, they can go to any country in the EU and look for work, so part of this is simply times changing. this "surprising number" is completely subjective. what is a "surprising number"? 2%? 5%?
I also think it's worth mentioning that I'd like to see the paperwork histories of those Polish immigrants who are "frustrated with the process to become legal immigrants," if you catch my drift.
the majority of America's Polish population is not going anywhere.

Yea, I catch your drift. You can see my paperwork if you want and IF you manage to get it from USCIS ,coz they say "case can not be found".I have receipt from them stating that my "paperwork" was received 18 months ago but now "case can not be found".And yes I am frustrated.
