The planned premiere of the Polish feature film "Smolensk" has been called off in Berlin by the PC forces that be. The reason given was that the film is "too controversial". The PC dicatorship have once again demonstrated their total hypocrisy and active suppression of free speech. They have no obejctions to pornography, works ridiculing Chrsitianity or glorifying homosexual lifestyles, which are certainly controversial, but in such cases the PC folks claim that is "artistic freedom". When they disagree, they cite "controversiality" or any otehr convenient excuse to justify their suppression of artistic expression.
Hypocritical PC dictatorship bans Polish film in Berlin
Normally I would agree with you on this p3 but with pis in power and it's timing I am not so sure. Haven't seen it but it smells of bs before that and I wonder what unsubstantiated claims it contains. It's just a suspicion so will leave the rest until I see it, maybe I am wrong.
The moment Poles try to behave normally and deflect from usual pattern of behavior that is imposed and then expected from them, fog of isolation spread around Poland.
When would YOU Poles understand that West isn`t outside of Poland but in the very heart of Poland, in Slavic world. In the heart of every single Pole and Slav (ie Sarmatian) in general.
So, don`t seek respect from those who decided to take you down.

Thanks Dolno for the link in German, which indeed confirms what Polly wrote. I hope they manage to find another cinema for the screening. However controversial the film might be (it is a pure guess, I haven't seen it), it should be allowed on screen..
unsubstantiated claims
Don't forget, this is a feature film, not a documentary. Feature films present all sorts of fiction and nonsense to mention only Dracula, Frankinstein, Star Wars, Hitler meeting JFK and dinosaurs attcking people in the 20th century.
German news source
Please notice that security concerns were given in second place, in first palce was its controversial nature: der Film sei zu kontrovers.
security concerns
No, the only reason given by the theater was Sicherheitsbedenken (security concerns).
The whole sentence is:
Den Vorwurf, der Film sei zu kontrovers, wies der Botschafter zurück.
Literally,
The accusation (acc) the film was too controversial, pointed the ambassador back (here: point back = reject)
More freely
The ambassador rejected the accusation that the film was too controversial.
But the accusation is not attributed to anyone in the story.

So they feared ISIS terrorists would blow up the cinema? Smolensk to them is wholly insignificant. So it's just a pretext for the PC dictatorship to again rear its ugly head, is it?

I make no claim about their thinking may be. I was just pointing that nothing in the article linked indicated that "controversy" was a reason for the cancellation.
So it's just a pretext for the PC dictatorship to again rear its ugly head, is it?
What isn't just a pretext for the PC dictatorship to again rear its ugly head?
Who financed the movie? I am wondering why the Polish embassy is involved in movie premieres....
According to the source that Pol3 provided, it's a tiny movie theater in Charlottenburg that cancelled the show due to security concerns. The movie will still be shown in other cities such as "Hamburg, München, Düsseldorf and Köln".
That's not true. Security concerns were mentioned right above and below the headline.
Nonsense. Maybe the venue is owned by Poles who don't like the movie? :)

Has anyone seen this film or are we all guessing?
If Serbian move under the exact title - `Srpski film` (Serbian movie) wasn`t ban by international festivals, I don`t see how anybody can ban that Polish movie `Smolensk`. Its because `Serbian movie` belong to genre of movies that deal, to say that way, with `behind extreme violence`. So, to ban Polish movie `Smolensk` because of `controversial things`, as i look at that, represent nothing but provocation of Poles.

I just watched official trailer of `Smolensk` movie. Somebody in the movie said something like that `truth about what happened in Smolensk could horrify Poles`. Well, that would mean that truth must be that NATO and EU killed Polish president. Only that could ` horrify Poles`. If Russians did it, it wouldn`t neither surprise, neither horrify Poles. I mean, by the Polish mind-set.
What I want to tell you, I now understand why is movie banned from Germany. Movie point on Polish partners from NATO as possible killers of Polish president. BDW, long time ago I said that I also thinks how NATO and EU did it.
By the God, that would be scandal if some ``Wikileaks`` confirms how are NATO and EU behind that. If that don`t push Poland to immediately initiate Intermarium, nothing would.

Now it's 5072 users who have given a weighted average vote of 1.1 / 10. Must be a really crappy movie.

One movie theater in Berlin decided not to show it, Crow. One! But I now understand why they did it. They were concerned that disappointed customers would smash the cinema to pieces after watching the film...

I am not at all in favour of the conspirationnists' theories (either that the crash was caused by the Russians, or Crow's very own, that the crash was caused by Poland's NATO allies) but I find this 1.1/10 score way too low not to be suspicious, especially when the lowest ranked of IMDB bottom 100 films scores 1.5..

my own?
Wasn`t that Jarosław Kaczyński, brother of late Polish president Lech, who said that he believe that assassination of his bother was organized in Germany?
Well since he's trying to recreate the PRL he'd have to engineer a break with the west and resubjugation under Russia.... He clearly hates the west and westernized Poles far more than he hates Russia.
resubjugation under Russia?
Why always when Poles wants to be truly independent, somebody always frighten them with Russia? Always, always and always. Is that manipulation?

resubjugation under Russia?
That was the PRL and that's the only kind of relationship that Russia knows (and you would know it too if Serbia had ever shared a border wit Russia). Actually if it had then Serbians and their language would barely exist. No nation thrives because of a close relationship with Russia.
when Poles wants to be truly independent, somebody always frighten them with Russia?
Look at history. Russia's traditional relationship with Poland is much like Turkey and Serbia....
and that`s it? just like that? More explanations for fear? Always that discussion. Now, we just have to split on those who agree with you and those who disagree with you. So while we all focus on Russia, western Europe via instruments of EU (and NATO) hold Poland in subjugation.
No, my dear. End of discussion. Poland is Poland and Russia is Russia. Russia won`t move finger against Poland. Russia wouldn`t dare and Russia even started to think better. See, era when Serbia temporarily didn`t exist on European map as independent state is over. We are back now and we bringing balance.

embassy is involved
Embassies the world over host cultural events in the countries they're based in -- book-signings, film showings, exhibiitons. lectures, concerts, etc.
Russia wouldn`t dare
Russia wouldn't dare attack Poland only thanks to NATO -- the gretaest defensive alliance in history. I know you don't like the Alliance and have a whole litany of excuses justifying your compatriots genocide at Srebrenica, but if NATO hadn't intervened, you Serbs would have slaughtered not a "mere" 7,000 Bosniaks but maybe 9 or 12 thousand non-Serbs, additional Bosniaks and Kossovars Albanians.
Poloniuse3, you are still so deluded with NATO/EU anti-Serbian propaganda. I shall follow your evolution when you see how NATO/EU behave on Poland.
And NATO is for you `the gretaest defensive alliance in history`? defensive? Alright, alright. As i said, you shall see.
Watch the movie `Smolensk`! to begin with.
