It'll be interesting to see what figure they decide to multiply their US prices by.

I have yet to buy anything in any Timberland shop in Poland: just go in, try stuff on and then buy from the US on ebay for half the price.

I was wondering the same thing. maybe they will figure that every body has a ciocia or wojek that live in the u.s that will send back stuff that come from the outlets.

I'm wearing Gap at present. A nice top as it's getting colder. Good that you wrote Gap with a capital letter as I could have misconstrued it otherwise ;)

for those of you that need your Gap fix

Thought you were referring to fixing the following type kind of gap:

maybe they will figure that every body has a ciocia or wojek that live in the u.s that will send back stuff that come from the outlets.

I'm surprised none of my relatives have asked me to send Gap clothing to Poland. We've got it coming out of our ears in the US.

you can get it here too. People with family in north america send it back so their relatives can sell it on Allegro. Their quality has cheapened over the years but it will probably be successful here because Polish people want it here and will pay for the inflated prices of it. A few years ago we were in Hood River, Oregon and did some outlet shopping at Gap- the clothes were stupidly priced and the dollar was at 1:2 to the zloty- underwear for 99 cents, a jacket for 20$--it was crazy.

You've hit the nail on the head there.

I often wonder what Polish people would make of LL Bean.

Merged: GAP store opening in Warsaw

Just read that a new GAP store is opening in Warsaw(Arkadia center) ,i found it interesting because Gap is no longer doing very well in the US but apparently after the conducted market research it should be very successful in Poland.

I believe Gap will be doing fine with the GAP kids branch because Children' clothing stores in Poland are no longer that great and they are as expensive if not more than Gap ( ex: 5,10,15/ Crocodillus )

I hope you pay sales tax applicable?

It isn't. Sales tax is charged at source.

How else does one get a parcel out of the customs office?

Good luck Warszawa. Gap ain't that good anymore. It used to have lower prices and nice clothes. But now, it's all about high prices and not interesting, plain designs. Yuck. Enjoy. :)

I agree. I remember when C&A first came to Warsaw and I kept seeing people turning up to things wearing near identical clothes. Not that cheap either.

At least Zara change their stock every month.

This practice makes one of my friends in Barcelona very rich, she design and manufactures a lot of the clothing in Turkey, as a Zara external partner.

Zara has great sales. Unlike GAP.

you have got to be kidding me. It doesn't take a real estate genius to predict that gap in warsaw will fly here. mark this date and time- I predict gap in Poland will exceed all european gap yearly sales within the first six months.

anybody care to make a friendly wager??

I heard some Germans call C&A "Cheap & Awful" , i agree with PIP that Gap will be doing very well, i v noticed that city Poles especially young and old women spend a lot of money on clothes , shoes, cosmetics, hairdos, they seem to dress up even to take their dogs out.

Poles in general are elegant even over the week end.

It will do well here, no question. It doesn't matter about the quality- all that matters is the logo. My husband had a business trip to London not too long ago and all of his colleagues desperately wanted to go the the Gap. duh- it's American, not British. Doesn't matter- they needed to get the logo.
