Bronsiałw Komorowski has just marked his 100th day in office. During that time he has signed 50 bills into law, revitalised the National Security Council, awarded state decorations and travelled to Brussels, Paris, Berlin and the Vatican. He is soon due to meet President Mevedev in Poland. How do you assess his performance so far? In Poland and Polonia views range from distinguished statesman to bumbling buffoon.

For sure he's better than the last one who made Poland and Poles the laughing stock of world.

In Poland and Polonia views range from distinguished statesman to bumbling buffoon.

He's doing exactly the job he was elected to do - be a figurehead, not a politican. He's corrected some of the absurd injustices of the Kaczynski era (such as the refusal to recognise Michnik) and he's doing the job peacefully and quietly.

A TNS OBOP poll taken earlier this month showed that 43% believed Komorowski was fulfilling his presidential duties properly, 21% expressed the opposite view and 36% were undecided.

43% believed Komorowski was fulfilling his presidential duties properly

that's a lot as for a president not elected by people in a regular election...

It's normal finally. I like Komorowski very much.
He is modest, able to cooperate with wise people. People respect him. I do respect him too very much. Besides, he looks very good. He is a very positive good diplomat.

He's doing the undistinguished but generally acceptable job I was expecting him to do.

Polish politics is brutal and savage enough without the president jumping into the middle of the scrum.

The presidency works best in Poland as a mostly ceremonial position with a minimum of active politicking.

I agree.
The thing I hate the most about Polish politics is it's aggressive language and being rough. I am happy that Komorowski is so reasonable and he seems to think many times before making steps in public.

Being brutal in media is a big mistake. Finally we have a president who is different.
I hope he will become better, smarter, wiser, more experienced with every decision he will take and more self confident. He has all features that allows him to gain higher popularity and respect of his voters.

hehe Komorowski reasonable and devoid of agressive tones - you guys really don't pay much attention to what is going on in Polish politics - you should've read how his 'support commitee' senior members were spitting hatred in front of the news cameras - Andrzej Wajda and Władysław Bartoszewski the most outspoken in that event

I hate when somebody is too critical. I try to see positive aspects of his behaviour and trials to rule the strange and overcritical Polish society. I try to see good sides, and of course, I can see only "haha" as an answer. This is really awful. No matter how much people try to be good, every time somebody will see something negative. Weird Polish character!

Gosh!
Polish people! Notice good things! Notice small things! Don't criticize too much. It depends only on You what will You see!
I see Komorowski is handsome, he has a beautiful wife, he wants the best for us!
Ohhh, and yes, I think he is handsome.
;)
Maybe instead of seeing negative sides will You try a bit harder to find a good ones?
Be patriots Polacy!

yes noreen - Mr Komorowski was always really well-meaning classy guy - no sarcasm no Kaczyński bashing ever - and he is a real diplomat - while in Moscow victory parade this year made some sweet comments about how Polish troops are once again in Moscow the firts time being in 1610 (Polish occupation of Moscow in the aftermath of a war lost by Muscovites) -

to follow that Mr Komorowski gained a nickname Jamajka (Jamaica) for his 'well-meaning' commenst that Poland is somehow being ridiculed in Jamaican press for some exploits of the PiS government - he also was very quick to judge Lech Kaczynski's visit to Georgia and the delegation being caught in a skirmish with some Ossetian militia supporting the Russians in their invasion - he said something like 'an attempt/attack in the same league as the visit' (jaka wizyta, taki zamach in Polish)

he was one of the most active Kaczyński bashers anyway - though I haven't followed his 'words of wisdom' that much

Ohhh, and yes, I think he is handsome. - handsomeness is not a political quality in my eyes and doesn't actually tell much about the person in question

to my eyes Komorowski is just another hypocrite of whom there's plenty in PO (Civic Platform)

I'm waiting for all the reforms that should be on their way. Sadly, nothing will happen - ever or until PO winning another election. This stagnation is still better than what it could have been under pis..

Sadly, nothing will happen

Sadly many things will happen but nothing advantageous for an average Pole or for the future of Poland!
PO will be only making excuses!

My family in Poland thinks he is doing a good job under the circumstances he inherited after LK. A 100 days is not enough to judge him yet.

On the other hand..Obama..oh, never mind.
