Polish Wedding Venue near Krakow

Any good suggestions?

We are not Catholic, which rules out a few nice places (such as Wawel Castle) as they only perform religious ceremonies.

Also, we need somewhere with accommodation for approx 100 people, so preferably somewhere out of town, ideally no more than 1 hour away (otherwise we may as well go the extra distance and head straight for Zakopane).

Obviously we would love a traditional castle-like place that allows us to bring our own alcohol (it seems a decent number of venues do allow this which is good), but right now we are struggling to find anything as most places are too small :-(

How about a Messianic synagogue? And they'd allow alcohol.

Would they do non-religious ceremonies (I'm guessing probably not)?

When we asked about a civil ceremony at Wawel they told us they do not agree with that type of marriage and that was that (not saying of course that will be the response elsewhere)!

Willa Decjusza looks lovely, but they don't seem to have much accomodation, so will get in touch and see what they recommend...

Are they a Messianic synagogue? They'd probably be very helpful, then. They probably have Reform (Progressive, Liberal) seekers and ex-Reform members who come in all the time asking about civil ceremonies.

There are now numerous domy weselne (wedding houses) around Poland, many of which can accommodate 100 guests. And BYOB is accepted there. Dunno if registrar officials are allowed ot perform civil ceremeoneis at venues outside their USC (urzędy stanu cywilnego)..

There's plenty of accomodation to be found in Kraków, does it really have to be all in the same place?

Advice: don't do it at Dom Weselny. It's country-like, not castle-like.

We actually had a look at U Ziyada this weekend, its on the maybe list, however although the views are great I wasn't massively impressed with the inside. Also the hotel accomodation (although cheap and clean) isn't the most appealing (the main building itself only has very limited accomodation).

Hipis- The ceremony doesn't have to be in the same place as the reception, but obviously closer is preferable. However the accomodation has to be in the same place as the reception, otherwise people won't be so likely to stick around til the early hours...

So ideally you need to find a hotel with space for 100 with a function room but the ceremony could be anywhere with a traditional Polish "feel" about it but with a nice dash of romance for such a special occasion? Does it have to be in the Kraków area? Have you looked at Wieliczka salt mine? I know there's a few chapels there and I know they do weddings but not sure if they'd do a civil ceremony.

She was born in Krakow so she would definitely prefer it to be near Krakow.

We have no religious beliefs and would feel a bit uncomfortable in a religious venue, so we would definitely prefer the non-religious option if possible.

Have been working through that list, unfortunately the castle's are all out due to accomodation issues / they won't do non-catholic ceremonies / too far from Krakow.

Paszkowka Palace & Villa Decius we're speaking to, just waiting for responses to our questions.

The Salt Mines we're going to ask, was really hoping for a castle/palace, but will try anyway...

Still struggling here! There are a few venues big enough, but they all seem to be booked up :-(

Try the Palac pod Baranami on the Rynek - they have gorgeous function rooms.

There are plenty of good hotels within walking distance and a beautiful square. I have seen events taking place there.

they are responsible for some historical building/Hotels/Palaces known as DOM ARCHITEKTA "SARP" or the Polish Historical society who ca put you in contact with the owners.

My future husband and I are looking to get married in Poland and are looking for some help in finding a venue. We are trying to find somewhere in or around Krakow as this is where my partners family is based.

Our main problem is that Polish weddings are usually a big family affair but as our families are quite small we need to find a smallish venue or venues for our ceremony and reception.

Any ideas or even previous wedding venue experiences would be gratefully welcome.

I will marry my lovely Polish fiancee next year... and we would like to organize weeding in Krakow area or more south in mountains.
Could you share some ideas about the best wedding venues...and any great advices in regard of wedding organisation in this area ?

For the ceremony we eventually went for Willa Decjusza, which was great, no complaints there.

For the reception we went for the Crown Piast, basically because of the size. On the day they were fine, but the amount of arguments and frankly poor service with/by the staff (mainly caused by management to be fair) during the organisation and build up would make me hesitant in recommending them.
