Scottish & Polish relationships

Must one submit a name for approval before the child can be named? Who decides? Is there a list of approved names?
I see how this could lead to things like ethnic discrimination.
Why are people so intent on controlling others even in things of little consequence?

most students would agree on that one! lol mind you kids in Poland used to go to school Monday-Saturday some years ago (i'm pretty sure my Mom said she did)

How about this: Instead of programming them with all this manipulative BS, we instead just teach kids about other cultures and tell them to be nice to everyone and leave it at that, and let them make up their own minds what and how to think of others.

Where do you draw the line between programming and teaching when the latter can, and often does, overlap with the former? I'm surprised Randal, I think most Poles go in for something bordering on indoctrination. Devout Catholics do for sure. They believe in what Sunday school represents, instilling moral values and raising awareness.

Thats what the School is about.
The Aims of the school were probably written for an application of charity status or to get grants or something.

Kids are kids, they aren't bothered about multiculturism and stuff.

I think it is a good example of how Polish migrants are being welcomed.

I'm not sure about others but I cry every night.

Some work well, some don't.

I am sure the aims of the school are good. Even if they have been coerced by the grants standards enforced. Money influences everything, often not for the better.

I am not some intolerant jerk. I am just against telling kids what to think. Teach them facts and let them figure out on their own how and what to think about it. Of course those facts would include that the world is a better place if everyone shows tolerance and acceptance of others so everyone can get along -but don’t coerce it.

While at the same time there are very good examples across societies that have struggled greatly under all this engineered “rich diversity”. So it is not settled science by any means. Maybe those taught facts should include this information? But I am doubting the grant underwriters would approve of kids being taught such facts.

You make a good point about willful indoctrination, Seanus. But there is great difference between willful and unwitting. The latter seems almost criminal to me. It’s just not right, even if the intent is good.

Oh, I completely agree. I've never been for the paternal state dictating what you should believe. For that reason, I dislike the RCC which I believe to be a little too much of an encroaching body.

What is this RCC?

Depends on whose facts are being presented. I am sure there might be a slight discrepancy between facts presented by let's say... Hamas vs. facts presented by the IDF. Isn't it the general societies policy (in Scotja's link) of Christian types welcoming other Christian types? If it was a center in the frontier lands in western Pakistan, they might not get the same reception.

I would agree. But the thing is there are folks out there who because Polish folks are different, they are a [threat, negative influence, cause of all problems, pick one or use your own]. Hence the need to influence the kids to say "hey, they're ok, don't pick on them" and as kids, if they truly learn that lesson, they will likely take that lesson with them for the rest of their lives. Can't be a bad thing in my opinion.
