I am 59 and did not believe the a woman 12 years younger would be interested in me, but we are very much in love and I plan to move to Poland in the near future.

P.S. I am not wealthy.

Well then I got one for you all.

I am 42 year old black man and my girlfriend now for 2 years is 23 (19year difference) and yes she is Polish. And the funnest thing for me was that her family and friends had a much easier time accepting me being older then me being black. Her mom was happy that she was with an older man that would make sure her little girl was safe and even the father accepts me with the age differences. And so far we are still very much in love, and yes every once in a while I notice that she miss maybe living that young life and I try to allow her to enjoy that age. In the end all I can do is be understanding and not expect her to have the life understanding that I have. So in the end, love can bridge the gaps that comes with both age and racial difficulties.

Anyone who needs to get great advice about age gap relationships can find a very helpful forum called Ageless Love. At one time, I was in an age gap relationship and it was a fantastic source of information.

They have great archives with just about every concern. Stories of success and failures and community support. Here is the link:

I don't believe such age differences should be a problem when you're dating or looking for something more casual, and I really don't think age differences of about ten years should cause much problems in more serious or long-term relationships either. But twenty four years? It's pretty obvious that you'll still be in the middle of your life when you're about thirty six. He'll be sixty then. I think you should seriously ask yourself if that's what you *really* want.

I don't see many men raise teenagers in their early sixties, do you? I mean, if you're going to have a child with him this or next year, or even later, then that child will be fourteen when he's sixty one, sixty two or sixty three. (And he talks about more kids?) He shouldn't be too selfish and think about *your* future as well, because you already *have* three kids of your own. Hey, it's not *my* life, but I wouldn't go along with this plan if I were you. I guess it would be different if he accepted the fact that you already have three children of your own, but then again who am I to tell you what will or won't work out for you guys? Just saying that a bigger age difference in a relationship is one thing, but when kids are involved you *should* give it more thought.

Give it a go - what have you got to lose? Well, tell me exactly what. A man who treats you like a Queen and you hesitate? .... Well then, go back to your older men who treat you like dirt if that's what you want, because you seem to prefer that.

Even if you only have 5 years with him - they will be the happiest 5 years of your life - but then again....you don't want to be happy, now, DO YOU?

it is a fear of being ridiculed by other people I presume - it is definitely not one easy thing to overcome - like fighting oneself

btw I wouldn't pressurize a woman I love into anything - I guess if he shows patience and perseverance it's gonna be much easier for you in time

Fear of being ridiculed - aha, so now I understand perfectly ... I can only do or say the things other people approve of.
They will tell me who I can go out with, they will tell me how old he must be, they will tell me what I should do. O yeah...that's right. We must all listen to other people's opinions otherwise they will disapprove of us and laugh at us.

Yeah, right, that's the philosophy we must all adopt in life....

there is not perfect love sure and real love is posible but it will depend of some things like a relation between a 40 and 20 in the begining it will be magical but in 10 or 15 years later the younger person will have temptations to have a younger couple unles they live in a remote isladnd so is importan to be realistic :P

From what I saw Poland has a much more "flat" society than Anglo culture. I went into a bar/club in krakow and ages ranged from 17 to 50+. You never see this in the u.s.

And I saw plenty of older guys with super hot younger women. More like 35-40 year olds with 18-24 year olds though. I guess this is probably a "gold digger" situation but it sounds to me like you've got enough "gold" by Polish standards to not really even need to worry about it. All men pay their women one way or another. She might as well still have her looks.
