Sexual diseases! Please tell me how I go about getting tested in Poland?

The HIV clinic in Warsaw has no shortage of patients, and there is a high incidence of HIV and STDs in Poland. Instead of posting fantasy, check out the statistics - they are available online.

Aside from the obvious differences in population size between the countries you mention, and the greater financial ability in Poland to be diagniosed and treated privately and discreetly, and the ability of Poles to travel and reside interstate to somewhere that has better healthcare, you might like to look at the latest analysis. And of course the number of people in Berlin, London etc receiving treatment who identify as Polish.

Though in fact you're trying to evade the issue - that you said the only people in PL with STDs are prostututes and African immigrants - care to back that up?

i have never heard (in real life)of any person until they went to a foreign country or had contact with some 'exotic' foreigner have a major std, only the crabs or something minor like that. Poland isn't a place where you have to put on a condom before having sex with a Polish girl for fear of catching something, u know she's got to be clean (90% of the time) , the condom is for not getting her pregnant, nothing else.

Not according to the Polish Ministry of Health who sponsor campaigns to remind people that this is simply not true.

BTW, those Poles I know to have HIV (about half a dozen) neither travel abroad particularly or sleep with what you call 'African immigrants'.

The Ministry of Health is scaring people teaching them to watch out just in case not that there is a serious problem, just like they teach kids about drugs, i doubt there are as many coke or heroin junkies in Poland as the west. are those half a dozen u know homosexuals?

Polish girls don't have no STDs, maybe prostitutes

And when this prostitute has sex with a Polish guy , who then has sex with a Polish girl....what do you think happens...?

They don't have a limitless budget - every penny has to be targeted to where it is moist needed, tzn, where the problem lies. They canb't afford to just 'scare people'. And after all, the Polish authorities have to run a lot of STD clinics.

I understand, but who infected that prostitute? Aids don't come from Poland and it's not widely spread in our country, other people bringing it in, 1 prostitute isn't gonna infect a million ppl

exactly, so they treat the ones that are, and do commercials trying to target as many people as possible for that money to prevent it

Because the number of clinics, all staffed by venereologists, suggests they aren't short of patients.

Aids don't come from Poland

Nobody knows for sure where it came from, but it certainly exists in Poland. When I picked up the results of my last test, the pile of envelopes with the results suggests that plenty are getting tested. My friend who had the test at the same time wasn't as lucky as I was. :-(

In numbers it seams like alot 10 thousand but it really isn't when compared to other countries, in numbers or percentage either way you look at it.

  • estimated number of people with hiv/aids

1 prostitute isn't gonna infect a million ppl

She doesn,t need to....she infects ten clients , each of them infects five girlfriends , who then infect five boyfriends...are you adding up the numbers..??

In a month , that can be a hell of a lot of people with a dose of something nasty , and thats just one prositute...

Why would any guy want to screw a prostitute or get a mail order bride?? With all the beauties in Poland, the guy must be ugly as sin. Or just plain stupid.

There aren't that many intravenous drug users in Poland. That probably helps quite a bit.

Reminds me of the old song:

One day she had a ride, with a sailor from the Clyde,
And she wondered why he held her very close,
But when he finished screwing, she knew what he'd been doing,
For he'd left her with a good and proper dose.

She gave it to her father, who gave it to her mother,
Who gave it to the Reverend John Brown.
Who gave it to a cousin, who gave it to a dozen,
And now its half way round the town.

It was not advising against medical institutions or personnel, it was advising in peventive measures, as is understood and accepted "Prevention is better than cure". No other prevention is better than being responsible in the ethical way. You have no idea of morality, so I'll not even discuss that with you. Keep bla bla-ing.

You may be able to reduce your chances of catching an STD by not having sex, but you cannot prevent it utterly. As I mentioned, public toilets? Hotel bedsheets? Do you really trust the woman you pay 1.50zl to REALLY clean the cubicle each time its used in Dworzec Centralny toilets.

Of course, you won't catch HIV this way, but there are plenty other diseases out there just waiting to jump under your foreskin. Advising monogomy has NOTHING to do with preventing the infection of sexual diseases.

Go get some education ...

public toilets? Hotel bedsheets?

Good hotels ... hygiene. Its possible.

by not having sex

Sex is a fundamental human right ... but there are the "right" way of doing things ...

But many people are not supposed to understand .. maybe you are one of em'. Therefore the disease is here to stay.

your imagination is huge Richfilth - as far as I know hotel bedsheets tend to be washed after every client - public toilets - hmm as far as I know sexual organs don't have any contact with any toilet utensils during normal use of these - how high is in your opinion a chance of getting infected through healthy skin on your legs?
jonni  16 | 2475

Exactly - though PL has quite an incidence of Scabies (ƚwierzb) - not really an STD, but can come from bedlinen used by a carrier (and sex too) and the little buggers survive laundry. Bedbugs as well, but you can get those in even the cleanest homes, and they like the warmth of Polish flats.

I have never seen a bedbug before I went to London
you would hear about them as a pest from the past in Poland
I don't know what are realities now in big cities - but I still believe they are not even nearly as common a nuisance as in London (don't know about the UK in general)

I don't know about scabies at large in Poland but if my memory does not fail me I have never met a person with scabies

They're quite common in London apparently, and my last flat in Warsaw had them. The place I lived in when I first moved to PL, too. A traditional Polish remedy is to rub the legs of the bed with spirytus to stop them climbing up at night. But I just called out the dezinsekcja people instead.

I have never met a person with scabies

Unfortunately I have, in Warsaw. Didn't tell me he had them until after he'd stayed in my home. :-( There was a huge outbreak of them in Warsaw and Poznan a couple of years ago, with some chemists running out of the lotion.
