I'm curious, what would you put on the banner?

Why, that the foreigners are sought-after obviously. When they don't speak you can easily miss them!

Take my lad, Zeti? ;) ;) I don't have a lad, I have a lassie :)

Only ginger hair is under my arms, in my armpits. Or oxters in Scottish (Doric anyway) :)

That depends. I know why I have difficulties finding a non-Pole here. But what's wrong with all those beautiful Polish gals around you?

I thought its short form for a lady, sorry :)

Tell her that you are so bored that Poland will soon mean for you a country of never ending tortures... Everyone needs some entertaiment from time to time ;)

Why?And why non-Pole?Do you reject all polish men a priori?

I don't. I just lived abroad for too long and now have problems to fit in. I seem to get along with non-Poles/ or the Poles who traveled -better. And your sudden correctness sound ironic after your previous remarks.

What previous remarks? You openly discriminate towards Polakow. And even accept different race!I cannot believe how it is possible to reject Poles and accept Indians etc, this is a reversion.

Someone hasnt been reading the thread properly have they? The OP has already stated, she is looking for English speaking, this does not just mean Brits but people who speak English as their first language..

are you going to try to pimp me out?

That might upset Southern (he's definately sniffing) and:

I live in Olkusz, is that close enough to Katowice for you?

The OP doesn't write native english speaking so she means any foreigner who lives in Poland and speaks english, that is anybody except a Pole.(even an english speaking one).

No I was reading very carefully. She stated that she like british accents and for the most an accent of Jude Law. So it can mean that she want meet an Englishman (or some other Britishman)

She just rejects scottish accent.

Hi...I have seen some comments of southern and any 'race' conversation seems to be a kind of a road to nowhere (no offence)...but here I admit that you (greenclover1) discriminate Polish people...You say that you prefer non-Pole companionship...I bet you based your opinion on your own experience (as we all do) but the fact that you met a few idiots does not mean that the rest is alike (btw can someone tell me if it is correct to use 'alike' in this context, shouldn't be better to use 'the same'?) ...yes, we are not perfect but it is slightly unfair to say that you do not bother to speak to anybody who is not an English native speaker or a Polish globtrotter (at least this is the impression I got of you)…I believe that you can have a rally nice chat with a Polish/German/Indian/Blugarian/Japanese/French, etc guy in English although he is not a native speaker...ooo one more thing…love life associated with English…wow!

I wish I had such limited & defined love requirements and could stick to them with such determination…life would be much easier:)…OK, joking a bit, deep inside I hope there are some other features you expect the guy to have except cultural background and linguistic fluency.

PS. Guys, it is stated at the very beginning...'a native English speaker':)

Ah Kasha83, soon you will come to realise that you have to speak very, very slowly and be prepared to repeat key messages many times before the majority of us slowly understand. Be patient;)

No I was reading very carefully.

(evidently not carefully enough)

But I never said British only. I said native English speakers.

I noticed that too, but zit evidently didnt.

As to the rest of your post, I think you were a little bit harsh on the OP, I dont think she was saying she had anything in particular against all Polish men, but she just has a preference for others...they just happened to be native English speakers or Poles who were well travelled...

So if OP is looking for young Americans she should try to find some Mormons. In my city there are lots of handsome boys from Utah (and other states) who try to save from hell poor souls of polish catholics ;>

Wow so now a racist. And I'm discriminating against the Poles. That's a first... Ok just because some of you were so nice to me today and the others seem to be so eager to straighten me out- I will try to explain what I mean.

I find myself open minded. Even too open for some people liking as I've seen today. One thing is that I used to live abroad for a long time so now it is quite tricky for me to readjust to the Polish mentality. So living in Poland with someone with similar experience might be helpful. The other thing- you might call it a fetish :) I love English. I speak other languages too but -as it happens all my ex's were either American or Brits- not their fault - I just met them there. So as I mentioned I was thinking about native English speakers- that means English, Scottish, Irish, American, Canadian, Australian, S.African- just to mention a few. One of my close friends is Samoan. That would count too- if he wasn't gay.

Yes, after having read it once again I may say I went a bit too far...but that is why I noted it is an impression I got...it does not have to be the truth...

...greenclover1 I do apologise...but just out of curiosity... living in PL and looking for foreigners because you prefer their company....with all due respect, but why did you move back to PL than?...I can understand if it was a must but if it was your free will than rather bad choice bearing in mind that you do not get along with most of the countrymen

so what options do I have ? Any tips anyone?

There are some expat groups that you can find in facebook. Some are really active and they even organize trips (irregular but quite often) to different parts of Poland, you can subscribe and try to attend their activities.

You openly discriminate towards Polakow.

Nice catch. Indeed, discrimination is discrimination. For her to attack one while promoting the other is PC hypocrisy. So much for her "open minded" claim...

There is a charismatic American that goes there.

Oh! So now we're a tourist attraction! I see how it is. What's next, you'll be putting us in circus sideshows?!

"Oo, look at the American. Let's feed it a banana. Don't get too close to it... "

:p

When did I attack anyone?- because clearly I must have missed that. And since when having your preferences is a discrimination? Be PC but don't be absurd.

thanks for the tip!

I came back because I wanted to- and believe me I don't regret it. I never said I didn't get along with people here- I said it's not always simple. I moved back for many reasons- my family, the job opportunities I have here, nostalgia too. I don't think I'm contradicting myself if I want to live in my country but at the same time long for the part of life I used to have. Life is complicated, you have to make different choices and live with the consequences. But I believe you have a right to chose and you don't need to apologize to anyone for it.

Southern, how old are you? Your posts are so amusing sometimes...

I'm an American with native English, but I'm living in Krakow. Find anyone at that expat bar? Perhaps pick up an English speaker in the big city and lure then out to Katowice? ;)

Greenclover1, I agree with you 100%, why live a life of sadness conforming to other peoples ideas and needs, when you can follow your own path,be happy and contribute.
