I have met a nice Polish man on Facebook. He and I have agreed to travel to a remote country together. He seems very trustworthy and honest and a reference I know says he and his travel business are legitimate. However, he is not nearly as direct as I am about our travel plans and meeting, getting our itinerary set, etc. We are within 2.5 months of our trip and I have already booked an expensive ticket but when I attempt to ask him about his booking and meeting me I get little or no response. I am getting a little anxious. Does anyone here have any thoughts on this?

Well first of all make your own thread.

But that sounds Sketch as Fu.ck Like really idk dude. I would make sure you can refund that ticket and why are you meeting somewhere totally strange to the both of you??? Like meet on either ones own turf. Ovby like at a cafe or something so if they are a creep they dont know where your house is.

his travel business are legitimate

What the hell does that even mean??? Does he meet alot of women in foreign lands??? and if so then why doesnt he pay for your ticket with all his mile high points??? or frequent flyer points????

Just saying sounds kinda sorta very sketch. I'd be very nervous.

We have known each other for close to two years on Facebook and my other agent says she knows his business is good. He has lots of great photos from all over the world. I even am in touch with someone who has used his services and said great things. I am just wondering if this is a cultural thing. Are us Americans more direct in communication?

Yes, I have some concerns. However, he is a busy guy and we are not leaving for Africa until late November so maybe I am rushing things? My worst fear is to arrive in this primitive country with $thousands on the line for over 2 weeks knowing nobody and unable to speak the language. What the hell would I do? I don't see this happening but always believe in a plan B.

That would be AWFUL lol but Africa sounds nice. But again what kind on agent are you using??? i'm very confused about if this is just like a hook up vacation or if this is through like a dating site or something. So then is he from Poland??? At least you guys have known each other for 2 years so i'm sure you guys have skyped and such. I mean like I said you seriously need to make sure that he is going or make sure that ticket is refundable!

This guy must be OK because he has complete travel business with many photos and lots of other Facebook friends including several who have used his services. I am just more the type to have everything arranged by now and trying to avoid having one of us wait long hours for the other on possibly different flights. We are going on a tour of Sierra Leone for 17 days with a tour guide who speaks Krio and English. My travel agent I used for my wonderful trip to Costa Rica knows of his business and reputation so I should be good hopefully. I could not get a refundable ticket at a decent price. Getting to Africa from US is very costly.

idream-travel/ This is his site - I think quite good.
