I'd like to get married with my girlfriend in Krakow. A simple ceremony place?

My girlfriend and I would like to get married in/near Krakow. We do not want anything official as we are both non-traditional and no-religious, but we would like to be husband and wife to each other. We are looking for a nice/pretty place to have a simple ceremony with just the two of us and an official/priest. This is just for us, and we do not want become submerged in paperwork. Just us, and someone to marry us, somewhere. Any help is appreciated.

My girlfriend and I would like to get married in/near Krakow.

St Adalbert`s Church in the Market Square is the temple I was married to my wife many years ago.

However, we did it in broad daylight, with thousands of witnesses, Polish and foreign tourists. It was one giant show because I wanted to teach my shy girlfriend how to be assertive in life.

Try to bribe the head priest there to wed you at night! He will understand.

you married your girlfriend because she was shy, if she becomes assertive bye bye marriage.

That's right. Both partners should be assertive and should negotiate from positions of strength and equality. Only weak men want a weak woman.

I like the idea of the old stone church...still looking for other options though.

This is just for us, and we do not want become submerged in paperwork.

Tough luck: there is no way to legally get married in Poland without dealing which chunks of paperwork. To give just one example: your certificate of no impediment to marry will take 3 weeks to get, require at least one trip to the British embassy in Warsaw and quite possibly two trips and cost you 716zl.

Frankly, in your position I'd be checking flights to Vegas.

I will not be officially filing in the UK, so no paperwork needed. Just need a willing official.

Another one who doesn't understand that things are different here.

There is no such thing as a "willing official". They will not - repeat - will not do anything to legitimise such a marriage if the paperwork isn't completed to the satisfaction of the Polish authorities. The Polish authorities demand a "certificate of no impediment", which for you as a UK citizen, costs 716zl as a result of needing to pay for the Embassy in Warsaw.

If you want someone to say some random vows and to say "right, you're husband and wife" - that's easy to get. But it won't be accepted as a legal marriage in Poland.

no every house needs an assertive woman

After delivering 1, 2, 3 or more children, every woman becomes a lioness. :):):) But that is normal and males should accept it as sth natural. If they don`t, they have a problem.

Only weak men want a weak woman.

That`s disputable. Sometimes strong partners feel a need to take care of weaker ones. :):):)

I would suggest that you read the original start of the thread. I am not filing this in any country. If you want to put it in the ugly terms of random vowes, then yes, that is what I want. "That is easy to find" is not very helpful, is it?

In your first post you said you wanted to

get married in/near Krakow

by

an official/priest

Now you want something unofficial.

Make your mind up mate!

Yes.

You can "get married" in a humanist ceremony -

What is a humanist wedding?

The bride and groom together with the celebrant establish what elements they would like to include in the ceremony this special day for them. May freely choose together words, music, gestures and symbols through which they would like to tell us about yourself and the relationship that unites them.

Marriage is a humanist, because everything is directed at the man.

Through the humanist wedding two people expresses the social community their INDIVIDUALISM. They express in it its own aesthetic, their views and desires. It could be something deadly pathetic or extravagantly humorous. Humanistic ceremonies may amuse, shock and delight.

They impact on the emotions and the intellect. Their shape is always a matter of taste of young couple, which of course is not always the taste of all gathered.

Frankly speaking, it's complete nonsense - it has no legal value and is not registered anywhere. You could just as well hire and actor. You could just as well buy a ring and call each other husband and wife without bothering with any ceremony, to the same legal effect.

No official or priest is going to marry you without the paperwork.

Perhaps I have not yet been clear enough. An official is sometimes referred to as someone who performs a wedding ceremony. So if I was married by a witch the witch would be the official. Either way, I can see that I am barking up the wrong forest with the crowd on this site.

Thank you landora for a helpful response, that's what I was looking for. Cheers!
