Hi Everyone.

So as many other foreigners in this beautiful country i have meet a very nice polish girl, in which i am now going to take out for a first date this weekend.

So what i would really like from you, is inspiration. I was thinking about taking her to a good restaurant, have a meal and a nice bottle of wine. But at the same time i really feel like thats quiet boring, and not very good for a first date.

So please tell me what have you been doing on your first dates? both good and bad. And also i would like to know if there is something special i need to know about dating in Poland?

Id really appresiate all answers :-)

Hello

Remember that girls in poland are like no others, so your paying for everything :) Reaustaurant with wine is not so bad idea at all. You could spice it a little bit with.... walk thro old town maby I ain't an expert its just a suggestion.

Best of luck lad.

And yea walk thru old town could also be a great idea, thank you!

Yes mix it up a bit
A walk by the wisla worked wonders for me on a few occasions, but may be a bit chilly in the evening at this time of the year.

Yeah I lived in same belife till I started watching polandia. Its polish online show about foren ppl, preaty cool to know waht others think about you.

And get this, in some countries when you go on date you split the check and you meet up in restaurant, when usualy you will pick up your date.

Little twisted for me but hey, that's just me.

walk thro old town

or take a horse carriage - that's fancy!
Restaurants: try Aperitif at Sienna street (Maly Rynek) or Klimaty Poludnia (deeper in the backyard of Gertrudy street). From both places you can take this carriage, but maybe it'll be a better start to start off with the carriage which would take you directly to the restaurant after a short trip?

Jezzz... this is not my section. :)

or take a horse carriage

Im no specialist here Olaf, but taking her on a carriage ride on the first date kinda lame?
I mean if you barely know each other it seems quiet romantic and intimet thing to do, not to mention probably the cost of such ride.

I could be totally wrong?

No, you are probably right! I just suck at dating, that's all. I shouldn't have written anything here in the first place.
Horse carriage would be better for some next dates I guess..

No no, i think it was def good advice for later dates!

But im also curious as to if theres anything special or different where you can bring your girl on a date here in krakow?

You mean like the Aquarium, ice skating rink?
I think an invitation to a meal is perfectly enough for the first date, more than enough. First one can be just at a cafe only.

Yes exactly stuff like that sounds awesome!
Okay, so just taking a girl to a cafe/restaurant would be good enough for a first date?

And also are you expected to come pick up your date at her place? Or is it okay to arrange a place to meet before the dinner?

She'll certainly never forget it if you take her to a strip club. The trick is that you never take your eyes off her.

Bunkier Sztuki would be the place to go

it is warm, chilled out and full of the most bizarre and frankly hilarious exhibitions of modern art

always lots of topic of conversation

then off to the cafe for a cup of hot chocolate

if it is a first date it is a mellow venue

I think so. But in any case here's the Aquarium in Krakow - English lang. version seems not to be working now
and ice skating rink in krakow - no Eng. version here too, but Google Translate will help.

I am not supposed to give advice on these topics;)) but you can choose a nice cafe, arrange to meet in some place close by, take her there and have a date there, I'd go for ice cream deserts after coffee.

Next time pick her up and take to some other place. But maybe do not follow Harry's advice. I've seen it in The Graduate. Tempting as it is, but do not! :D

Harry, I spilled my coffee on the keyboard because of you!

Merged: Date ideas (Krakow)

Taking a local girl out, but not sure what to choose, as I'm relatively new to Krakow. Any ideas/suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

How about a trip to the salt mine in Wieliczka? If she's local, she probably hasn't been since a school trip. It's now highly organised and well worth a visit.

If you have a car a trip out to kyrspinow may be worth it. Can have a nice relaxing walk and hang around near the lake there. It's out towards the airport so not very convenient if you have to take other transport but worth it.

Take her for a meal at Hotel Stary on the patio overlooking the rynek.
Walk along the Wisla and around Planty.
Go to Zblizenia or Le Scandale in Kazimierz for good drinks.
Go for a religious service together at Mariacki (if that's your thing)

etc etc etc. Lots to do in Krakow :)

Plants section at Leroy Merlin. Buy her a rubber plant and tell her with a wink it's because you're ecologically minded and wish to replace what you are about to use.

Ah Wieliczka is where my husband proposed to me, in the cathedral down there. It was awesome.

We ate at some great restaurants in Krakow, very impressive. One I believe was Indus Tandoor, another was Gruzinskie Chaczapuri. Then afterwards we'd go have a hot chocolate at the chocolate drinkery in the main square Pijalnia Czeckolady.

Magical city. My favourite in the world.

The roof top terrace cafe at the Hotel Pod Wawelem: hotelpodwawelem.pl/index.php/en/ is about as good as it gets in Krk.
The place is not pretentious in any way the prices are normal although the views are in my opinion the best in Krk. enjoy
