What exactly is Wieczór panieński - Bridal Shower?

What exactly means Wieczór panieński and what do they do? One of my friend said that Wieczór panieński means inviting some male strip teasers and making them have fun with the Bridegroom? Is it true in Poland that bride groom have such kind of night?

It's a female bachelor party. The girl who is getting married gets a party with her female friends. Usually it includes doing some crazy things, but of course it's not obligatory to have a stripper. I'm pretty sure you have the same in Germany.

wieczór panieński is a hen night, you're meant to go out and have fun with the girls before the big day. bridal shower is having a little get together and giving gifts for the future bride isn't it.
