It seems you got infected with the cancer of communism......

You know my points of view on many issues, pawian. But look back - this thread is really pointless and stupid. It serves nobody any good. Really.

Yes, and I respect you for your views and intelligence like hell. :):):)

Yes, but ..... it is still a nice opportunity to take sides with Am Polonia who are irritating on everyday life basis, but in times of trouble, never fails.

You mean like how they rushed to Poland post-WW2, pre-September 1st 1939, mid 1989 and all those other times?

Those who left Poland in the 80s (like my family), sent money and care packages to their families back in Poland to help them make ends meet. Most of these migrants were barely making enough for themselves yet they still managed to send whatever they could to help. It is said that most Poles have family abroad so it is quite possible that a good chuck of Poland's population received some kind of aide from their family members who left. Much of this support continued through the early 90s...

Especially the Jews. Every good member of the North American Polonia lusts for the days between the wars when Jews really did know their place.

I realize many members of the polonia (especially those in chicago, for instance) are prostaki from bialystok/zakopane, but you are totally ignoring the fact that Poles in Poland are still racist/prejudiced. Unfortunately you may not be exposed to this as you do not speak Polish and therefore miss out on a lot of things being said.

It means that Am Polonia are of true Polish origin.

PS. Dear guys, isn`t it time to start loving each other at last? After all, most of us are of Christian roots, even non-believers. Peace!

Lots of anger there at people who are not in Poland, but still hold her dear in their hearts.
Why?
Do you ever ask yourself why are you so mad at those "Polonians"?
Why start all those threads about who knows more about Poland, accusing them of not being Polish, all those fights trying to strip them of their "Polishness".

Really, why?
The only explanation I can think of is that those angry ones (delph, for sure!) are not happy living in Poland, and are jealous at those who still feel the connection but don't have to live there.

Could it be??
Or maybe they're frustrated with the difficulty of learning Polish language. Maybe that's it. ;)

my point is that those current residents of Poland do not seem to have a very good time there, and are angry at those "Polonians" who, right or wrong, remember it fondly.

"Busia" is a Polish term for "grandmother". Using this term is not all all indicative of moronism. Claiming otherwise is indicative of Grade A moronism.

I'll be honest I dont think I have ever heard that. Babcia is most often used, something Babusia.

Whoever leaves Poland to US, turns right. It is a rule. Simple. Don`t hold it against them. Do youm know any Polish leftist guys in US???

This is not true. I dont know how it is in USA, but in Canada, Poles (both fresh from the boat and several generations) have a variety of opinions.

I think its around 50/50 around here, although the recent elections had a Pole running for the Conservatives so most Poles voted for him (because hes Polish).

my point is that those current residents of Poland do not seem to have a very good time there, and are angry at those "Polonians" who, right or wrong, remember it fondly.

Only Delphdope and maybe "sobieski" come to mind. At least when it comes to hatred of Polonia.

PS. Dear guys, isn`t it time to start loving each other at last? After all, most of us are of Christian roots, even non-believers. Peace!

Again I have no hate for Poles. I value Poles more than Canadians in many cases. Its usually "visitors" (WASP or some other minority) to Poland like Delp who are screaming "evil evil PolAms" at every turn.

oh, I'm not talking about the overt hatred of Poland. Not at all.
I'm talking about English speaking people, living in Poland, who will not admit that they're not sitting on top of the world.
You can only deduce it by watching who they're getting mad at, and how often they're just plain angry.

How come they are typically affiliated with the Democratic party?

According to the Modern Polonia Survey, a plurality of Polonia is affili-
ated with the Democratic Party (36.5%). Slightly fewer Polish Americans declare
themselves as Independents (33.2%), and 26.1% consider themselves Republi-
can. 4.2% chose “Other.”

Source: apacouncil.info/docs/PolishAmericansToday-PiastInst.pdf

Not that I consider that Democratic affiliation particularly smart. By the way - take a look at that pdf - it paints a picture of the Polonia being neither particularly conservative, nor liberal, but rather libertarian-leaning, compared to the US and Polish general populations.

If that is your point, sorry, it is a miss.

It is mostly Am Poles who are constantly trying to tell Poland Poles how to live, who to vote etc. and are not afraid to show their anger, even fury, when we make other choices.

And Pawian is either a really sarcastic or, insane.

Sorry, but I got distracted a little and don`t know what you are talking about now. Do you mean sth particular I wrote here or you are thinking in general?

Simply untrue.

Maybe. I won`t defend it like Kmicic defended Częstochowa.

I love you Pawianku!

Your love is requited. You never cease to give me a feeling of enormous security. Thanks.

PS> You remind me of my father whom I barely knew because he was kidnapped by bad people when I was a baby.

That is indeed one of the hugely annoying things about Polonia. But what I really object to is the way that they damage the image of Poland and Polish people around the world. For example, say the grandchild of an Sobibor survivor wishes to find out more about the country that their grandparent was born in, perhaps even make a trip over from the USA to visit Poland. They hit google and this site comes up as one of the top listings (as it does). They then come here and read the foul bigotry displayed against Jews by people who claim here to speak for Polonia and therefore conclude that the rubbish by the likes of Yitzhak Shamir is actually understatement. As a result they never come to Poland and instead simply further the problems that the Polish-Jewish relationship suffers from. The individual person in question misses out and Poland as a whole may well miss out too. That is simply not acceptable.

Poles in Poland are still racist/prejudiced.

No, they are not. That people such as you who claim to be Polonia come out with such utter bollocks is just one of the problems that self-declared 'Polish' people cause Poland. Of course some Poles are racist but some of every group will be deeply unpleasant individuals.

I'll be honest I dont think I have ever heard that.

And you won't find it in Polish dictionaries either.

English speaking people, living in Poland, who will not admit that they're not sitting on top of the world.

I'll happily put my hand up and say that I'm not sitting at the top of the world. But I most certainly am quite contented with my comfortable seat thank you very much.

Those who left Poland in the 80s (like my family), sent money and care packages to their families back in Poland to help them make ends meet.

And? We should be made to feel forever in the debt to a few morons across the pond because of a few parcels that mostly contained junk anyway?

I don't speak Polish? Strange... I just had a meeting in Polish with someone that doesn't speak English. What language was I using, if it wasn't Polish?

The fact that you, in your typically arrogant Polonia fashion, claim all Poles to be "racist and prejudiced" marks you out as one of them. You're no better than Poles in Poland, no matter how hard you try.

The only explanation I can think of is that those angry ones (delph, for sure!) are not happy living in Poland, and are jealous at those who still feel the connection but don't have to live there.

Or we're sick of seeing our adopted country abused by a bunch of racist North Americans who haven't got a clue - and who do it endless harm with the braindead racist statements?

Only Delphdope and maybe "sobieski" come to mind. At least when it comes to hatred of Polonia.

Oh, look, bellend is making observations again! Nurse!

Its usually "visitors" (WASP or some other minority) to Poland like Delp who are screaming "evil evil PolAms" at every turn.

I can happily introduce you to many Poles who despise the attitude of the Polonia too. Would you like to meet some?

I'm talking about English speaking people, living in Poland, who will not admit that they're not sitting on top of the world.

None of us on here are sitting on top of the world, but I'm doing just fine.

How come they are typically affiliated with the Democratic party?

I don't understand it - how can someone vote PiS and yet Democratic?

It is mostly Am Poles who are constantly trying to tell Poland Poles how to live, who to vote etc. and are not afraid to show their anger, even fury, when we make other choices.

We can read what Polonius says - he routinely ridicules Poles for making "the wrong choice".

It is a common belief that most of those who tarnish the image of Poland in the way you just described are hired agents who do it for money or other benefits.

Whether they come from Jewish or another group, is the matter to be researched.

I don't understand it - how can someone vote PiS and yet Democratic?

It is the Imp of Perverse syndrome.

I don't understand it - how can someone vote PiS and yet Democratic?

It's very simple: they vote Democrat when it comes to how they themselves might be governed but they indulge themselves by voting PiS when it comes to saying how other people should live.

It is a common belief that most of those who tarnish the image of Poland in the way you just described are hired agents who do it for money or other benefits.

Why would anybody want to pay somebody to tarnish the image of Poland? Who can gain from that?! And anyway, as some of the Polonia who post here show, there are so many morons who tarnish the image of Poland for free that there is no need to pay for more of them.

Exactly. Why would Russia (or anyone else) waste good money when these guys do an excellent job of portraying Poland as a backwater racist hellhole that no-one would want to work with?

Remember Prussian, then German propaganda against Poland?

In the towns Germans were the victims of insane incitement, leading to a state of boycott, terror, and direct danger to life, which the Warsaw Government tolerated and

encouraged.

archive.org/stream/PolishAtrocitiesAgainstTheGermanMinorityInPoland/Poland_djvu.txt

Why, can you tell me?

This outbreak of concentrated fury and Polish national passion directed against everything German and invoked by the Polish officials, seemed to be the
unavoidable solution for putting an end to the intolerable tension between Germany and Poland. When, therefore, on Sept. 1, 1939 the ever increasing avalanche of defence
measures against the Polish provocations and attacks, which led to open raids by Polish soldiery into German territory, culminated in the entry of German troops into Poland,

Remember that the two people had recently fought over where the borders of their states should be?

Who would now pay to tarnish the image of Poland (especially when there are so many failures living in their parents basements who can't help doing it for free)?

Exactly. All they'd have to do is get in touch with some prominent Polonia types and ask them to keep going.

That old chap PolskiMoc was a fantastic example of Polonia who were hell bent on destroying the image of Poland on the internet.

Have you actually met any prominent Polonian, and by that I mean prominent and not just sticking out...? Say, someone awarded Polonia Restituta and diplomatic passport by the Polish government, fluent in Polish with close ties to his old country, say, halfway living in Poland, supporting a lot of charities and all kinds of positive projects in Poland, paying tax there due his business activities etc, I wonder....

They are - frankly - a tiny minority. They aren't Polonia, they can be called Polish.

The people we routinely ridicule on this forum don't speak Polish, they don't visit Poland, they think they know what's best for Poland and they use their "Polishness" as an excuse for some vicious racism. Your father, I assume, is none of these things.

I don't understand it - how can someone vote PiS and yet Democratic?

There are 11 million Polonians in the USA. Only a few thousand Polonians, in the USA, vote in Polish elections. Those that vote in Polish elections for PiS probably don't vote Democratic in American elections, but they are a tiny minority of American Polonians. Do you now understand now why there is no contradiction in the data showing that the most highly supported political party amongst American Polonians is the Democratic Party?

It is great to read all the Poles and Polonians on this thread defending Polonia against the bigoted bitterness of the non-Polish expatriates that are trying to bully Polonians here. The trolls have definately lost on this thread and Polonia is laughing at them! Hahahahahahahahahaha! Go suck an egg trolls!

Delph's definition of the "Polonian" he's ranting about is getting narrower and narrower. I think it's been proven that he should not generalize so much.
