I was interested in the stereotypes (besides Nazi) that Polish people have for us!
Accept stereotypes from a Russian? There you go. Germans are:
1) cold, aloof 2) good engineers, hard working 3) ill-mannered (farting on public), loud 4) mean (the expression "nemeckiy schet" (German count) is the same as "to go Dutch" in the US) 5) lustful, shameless, pûrnography inventors
I should say on the whole your people are highly respected.
The Germans are seen as stiff and mechanical but let's put that to one side and feel the loss of the German national side in losing their first-choice keeper in an apparent suicide.
Enke, probably depressed after losing his daughter back in 2006, threw himself under a train and sustained fatal injuries.
I don't like it if someone is pissing on his own people just to score some points, that's all.
LOL I was just wondering, I love my country, but we need to make fun of ourselves sometimes, agreed? :) Plus, I always knew the Polish stereotypes, and had always wondered what other stereotypes besides "nazi" they had
I've mentioned in other threads before, there are stereotypes that are considered positive ones, such as Asian students being intelligent. In college I usually tried to pair up with Asian students for various group classroom projects. It was kind of like a guaranteed letter grade 'A' for my project.
I've also found other stereotypes sometimes have a kernel of truth. Such as Middle Eastern men being women chasers. Last time I dined at a Middle Eastern restaurant, I practically needed a bodyguard!
