Racism & study with part time jobs in Warsaw ?

Hi everyone.
I am an Indian National and very interested to study in Warsaw University of Technology. I want to know is there any racism or discrimination exists for South-Asian people as i have noticed in some other countries. What is the real situation there and how is the social life ? People are friendly or not. And what about Girls over there ? Those things are very important for me to settle in a new place.

Secondly will i able to earn 200Euros a month by doing part-times. If i have the right to work. Shall be thankful for positive replies.

Polish girls are very hospitable towards foreigners, but on the other hand they discriminate against poor men...

Girls study in primary and secondary schools. Why do you want to know that?

And then find a white girlfriend, marry her and get your permanent visa to the EU like thousands of other male Indians?


There's very few people who think you are a bad person because you're Indian. So in Europe there's not much racism.
However there's many people who don't like 3rld world people invading their country.
I hope you don't call them racists. They are brave defenders of their country.


Probably no difference with India, friendly and unfriendly people are everywhere.

If you are a student, you will NOT have the rights to work legally. It would probably be better for you to stay in your own country and work to support your studies.

Study tech in Poland? They're behind India in Tech.One intelsat is as far as they've got. The only tech you'll be playing with is what Germany threw away. Study in India.Best is South Korea (over 60 sats for comparison) if you can't get in to MIT, of course.

You could earn that much by working 15 hours a week. The problem is that you won't be able to work that much: you will need each and every employer to get a work permit for you (in addition to your residency visa) and employers simply will not bother doing that for a part-time member of staff.

If you're Indian and need to work, forget about it. No-one is going to go to the effort of getting a work permit for someone that works part time - and I'm not sure that a work permit would even be granted for such work.

Ruffryder, the unforunate thing for you, is your peers in Poland, have established a very bad reputation, in 2011 the Polish girls are not interested in Asians and the business owners don't want the hassle that comes with Asians, it is all paperwork.The things that are important to you will not happen better go to the middle east or south africa.

Why come to study Technology in Poland?
The best for you is to attend the CENTRAL EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY IN BUDAPEST ,HUNGARY ( sponsored by Georges Soros) if you are bright you may get a scolarship because 80% of their students do and the courses are in English.

As the PF members told you it would be near to impossible to work on a part time basis in Warsaw because you are not from the European Union and life is more expensive in Poland than in Hungary.

How about the Europeans who travel out of Poland for work? There are millions of them in several countries, namely USA, UK .. and all of West Europe. Few Poles make a scene when immigrants move to Poland for work, whereas, they forget than there are millions of Poles spread globally. Now thats what we call 'Globalization'

It's fine if you want to move to Poland to study. If you want to silently pick up a job, make money - I'd say think it twice, its not easy especially now to pick up and job and yes, legal work is even harder, I have no idea for any illegal work. And someone said it right, ' you got no money - you get no woman; you got money, you get woman' :)

You say "they" don't like people invading their country and are defending their country, yet you are not Polish and are living in Poland. And you say "Europe is for Europeans".

You seem to be confused. You are from another COUNTRY in Europe (which is not a COUNTRY, but a CONTINENT), yet don't think Poland (a COUNTRY) should defend their COUNTRY from invaders from other COUNTRIES (such as yourself, who is not Polish, but living in Poland).

To the original poster: I studied in Warsaw (at Szkoła Główna Handlowa SGH) and am not Polish and had a great time. You will more than likely not find a job in Poland (unless you babysit or something), so save. There are plenty of foreigners in Warsaw, especially if you're among the Erasmus students, of which there are hundreds. I say go for it, and good luck.

Some of the ones I've met weren't that bad after about a bottle of vodka (for me, a bottle for them is just breakfast).

lol guys from India, Poland isn't any dreamland. If you don't speak Polish, forget about living in Poland. This is not an English speaking country. And yes, Poles can be racist as well. I am European too and I am not against foreigners but seriously 200 EUROS is nothing as per European standards. You got to make 400-500 EUROS minimum. But I am very much sure no employer would be willing to hire you for that money unless you got some special skills. My advise is to stay back in your country and improve your skills until you get to the standards of US, Europe or elsewhere.

Yeah,what about them?You saying "USA","UK" and "all of West Europe",are you American (born and raised in the US),British or West European?I guess you are neither so keep your mouth shut at least until some Poles travel to India for work.It may take some time though so you need to be patient.

I NEED JOB IN WARSAW FOR PART TIME...PLEASE HELP ME OUT..

I am studying at Poland atm with and Erasmus scholarship and believe me the level of studies here it is LOW in general. stay at your country and study there, there are probably better universities at India or choose a better country (UK, Germany,etc) with a better level. Also you'll need Polish and it is not a language you'll learn in one or two years. I have a C1 of English and French and I speak my native Spanish yet I am struggling so much at learning Polish. And also, you're not getting hired at any job unless you have a good level of Polish which will take time.

About racism I believe if you are cautious you won't feel racism in general. Some Spaniards are very tan and polish seem to love it and think of it as very attractive.

As Erasmus "student" you have no right to opinion about quality of studies in Poland. Everybody knows that Erasmus is a touristic organization and people from that program have different program than locals and easier exams.

I was referring to the Polish education, at least the one received by nurses and physiotherapists. it is incredibly low, by Spanish standards, however the same happens with the UK or France. i am a lot more prepared than my Polish counterparts.

Then be more specific. I think that work of a nurse is not the same in every country. I've heard that in USA nurses prescribe drugs, while in Poland it's a right reserved to doctors.

'spanish standards' is that why half of Spain is not working? because their standards are so high?

The crisis has not much to do with quality of education in Spain.

Education does not start at third level education. It starts from a very early age when children learn a certain way of living. It is not a co-incidence that most southern European countries are struggling while still maintaining a high level of third level education.

What else would you name as the reasons for the struggle of southern Europe if not education?
