Exploring this site and seeing the most ridiculous topics discussed. I live in Ontario and hate the snow if I have to shovel it or drive in it ,why would polish people feel any different?

I would buy them arctic fox fur coat, the warmest, then again using same climate - homeotherm driven logic, they would have to wear a little to none underneath.

I like winter. I come back to life when snows and rains.

I hate wet weather but I understand we need some rain from time to time. Snowy conditions can unfortunately be wet and damp too. But when there is a couple of degrees of frost and there is significant amount of snow - say some 10 cm or more it's really lovely then. But snow and winters wears on you pretty soon. 2 months of good snowy winter and nice amount of frost on top of that are enough. Then away with the snow I say.

I especially like the general rainy atmosphere of central Europe the streets with humidity and some obscure sky and little fog where you walk and smell the wet leaves while it is certain that a mesmerizing slavic existence will soon pass under her umbrella.The classic heels sound on the pavement reminds you that this is not Greece in winter the architecture is central european.

I love the winter. Living in Washington state we don't see snow much until recent years, but I always loved the winters in Poland especially in Kalisz.

I have found a lot of Poles (in Kraków anyway) seem to just go about as normal in winter, maybe just stay in a bit more. Personally, I loved winter in Poland. It's so bitterly cold, but so dry and fresh, and (a big thing from someone from Glasgow) EVERYTHING still works!

This is coming from someone living in a part of Scotland you cannot physically get to if there is too much wind, rain or snow!!

When I was in high school I usually spent 2 weeks in the winter skating on the lakes in my area. Brilliant way of spending time provided one checks the thickness of ice.

I have lived in Poland and Canada.
I would say the winters in the Warsaw area and Toronto areas are about the same.

I would say the extremes are worst in Canada (especially if you go away from the USA border, or north of the Great Lakes) than even other parts of Poland.

I dont have a problem with winter except when it snows alot. I dont like shoveling feet of snow (I dont have a snow blower or anything like that).

Aside from that its a nice change of weather. Skiing is fairly fun. And Christmas just isnt Christmas without snow!
