Want to watch BBC iplayer in Poland?

While it's always been possible to tunnel into the iPlayer from outside the UK via a Virtual Private Network, the average user would probably find this too much hassle to set up, and VPNs often charge a monthly fee. To solve the problem, a new free app called Expat Shield has launched this month from AnchorFree, the same stable as Hotspot Shield which offers the same service for US users.

Ive been looking for weeks for something that allows me to watch british T.V here in Poland,if anybody else is having the same problem here is the solution..Happy viewing :)

Expat shield just about works but isn't great. Apparently there's going to be a non-geoblocked version of Iplayer sometime soon.

There was a really good one with huge bandwidth mentioned here about a year or so ago. I used it during the free trial and it worked like a dream.

Likewise, and I suspect it will have a limited service. UKPolska gave some good links a few weeks ago.

It just seemed too much of a coincidence since it happened at exactly the time I installed expat shield, and there's a bit written on the internet about it. Expat shield is two programs in one, and it's the second of the two that causes the problem.

You should try filmon.com it costs 10 euro a month but you get real time streams for most UK channels including bbc1, 2 itv1, 2, 3 c4 e4 more 4 five fiver and a load more.

I have been using this for about five months now and the stream is always perfect never any problems and 10 euro is not much.

Not sure what point you are trying to make here but BBC prime doesn't exist anymore. Just to clear something up YOU pay your tv license so YOU can watch tv not so people in Poland can watch it! Strange post, oh well it takes all sorts!

It was a cable station - we paid for it in our cable subscribtion to the cable company who had to pay the BBC for it. Without overseas sales (a huge part of the BBC's revenue), either the license fee would be higher, the programmes worse, or they'd have to run adverts. Or all three.

Anyway, a lot of the content on BBC Prime was bought in from ITV and the BBC franchise that you get in Poland now has adverts.

Hello....big " ;) " at the end of post..... I spend half my time watching stuff on the net ,Im hardly likely to condem anyone. Why so touchy?

Just to clear something up YOU pay your tv license so YOU can watch tv not so people in Poland can watch it!

So why should YOU get To watch it FOR free then IF Im paying FOR it to BE made her IN the UK and you ARE not paying a PENNY towards IT?

Whereabouts in Poland are you? The further east you get, the bigger the dish you need. And beyond a certain point, you're outside the satellite's reach.

I am paying for it, I just can't watch it.

Only if you spoof the IP address so Sky think that you are in the UK.

The further east you get, the bigger the dish you need. And beyond a certain point, you're outside the satellite's reach.

As far as I know, the same sized dish which most people use in Warsaw (90cm to 1 metre) works in Lublin. And as I know places in Moscow which have Sky Sports, you need to be a lot further east than Poland to be outside the Astra footprint!

identitycloaker.com - Not a free service but it's got all the UK (French, German, Spanish, etc etc) proxies you could ever wish for. Instructions on-site.

There are two methods for streaming British TV..

1st: To spoof the IP address, you need access to a virtual private Network within the UK,
"I can provide this Technology for a small fee"
or you can Google "UK VPN" or "US VPN" and there are loads of sites who offer this services.

2nd: look through theses post, if you are short of cash and the 1st method isn't right for you..

Not for much longer you will not, as the BBC is starting to clamp down on this and only last weekend they blocked many foreign satellites from receiving the BBC's service and this is only the start, as soon they will be blocking all hosting services in the UK that host VPN services.
