Can I buy a Vertu phone in Poland (has it been released here yet)? If it’s not released yet, do you know when it will be? Also, if I buy one from outside Poland, can I use it in Poland with all its functionality (if yes, with which wireless operator)? Same questions go for the iPhone as well…
Vertu (or iPhone) in Poland ??
I heard that Orange is planning on releasing the iPhone in Poland :)
Besides it being a waste of money, I hear some are rubbish (the constellation anyway). It should be able to be used anywhere in Europe. I believe its a tri band GSM. If you're on a ntwk that supports your device, then you'll have no problems.
I usually pick up Era automatically.
The iPhone is a quad band, so, you'll have no problems.

Thanx for the info.

T-Mobile signed a deal with Apple to distribute iPhones in Europe. Era is owned by T-Mobile.
Orange PL is owned by Orange... :P
And i think they signed a deal with Apple too...

I wouldnt touch orange in Poland with a 50ft barge pole.
I think I tried to roam on Orange and it was horrible.
I’m new to Poland, so don’t know much about the providers, but WOW, Orange seems to be pretty bad from what I’m reading here.
I guess I made a mistake by going with them for my current cell. They (and all the rest) told me that I can’t get a plan (post-paid contract) with them because I don’t have a Polish ID card (which I still don’t have, and probably won’t have at all). So I had to go with the Orange prepaid cards.
The problem is that I’m traveling outside of Poland frequently (and from time to time outside of Europe), and have to pay some serious per minute rates when using my cell abroad (even when calling abroad from Poland). For now, I’m paying like PLN 300-400 per month for prepaid cards (this is only for calls and SMS…I’m not at all able to use internet and all those extra stuff on my phone with those cards). How’s that compared to a plan?
Any ideas on how to cut expenses? Change provider?

I have no problem with Orange (France), and the same when i'm in Poland.
I bought a copy VERTU, very satisfied, but I had problem finding case for it. I found a store on Ebay: FerrellPro with cases for all VERTU models, for original or for copies vertu.
Good - people think you will have bought a copy trying to show you are rich :)
What is the use buying a phone which normally costs a fortune, when you can have an average Nokia for a fraction? My 6310 works still like a dream.

bluetooth for synchronization - check
makes phone calls - check
write an sms or two - check
touch as nails - check
week long battery life - check
awesome phone.
I cannot remember how often it dropped on the kitchen flloor, and it still works.
Battery life, I think much more as a trendy I-Phone.
SMS and phoning - for that it works just fine. For me a phone is basically for that.
Apps?

Not sure what kind of phone you have now but if it's iPhone 4 I'd stick with it. I now have 4s but in some aspects prefered the 4.
