Edit.

vetala, is funny.

Remember a lot of Europeans are people of colour.

Not strictly true, when people say "people of colour" they generally mean black people, I dont know about you, but as far as Im concerned, black people are not european.

Very well put, enkidu. Most Poles are indifferent to things around them. They won't pester you unless they are drunks and you find such people in so many places in the world.

Oh, and even the drunks in Poland are not that persistent. I've never had a problem with gypsies either. They tend to go away quite quickly, unlike in Skopje (Macedonia). I was so close to giving a Crocop kick to the head to one there but he was young and I can't go about doing that. He harassed me enough though.

Poland is fairly safe if you avoid the skinheads.

"Remember a lot of Europeans are people of colour." ? - quote 'jonni'

The euphemism that you apply "people of colour" refers to Africans and Asians. Correct?

Europeans are not "people of colour" by the same rule of political correctness. In fact Europeans are demonised to the extent that the mass colonisation of my Continent by Afro-Asians has to be 'sold' as a wonderful phenomenon. The reality is that Afro-Asian mass re-settlement has brought displacement of Europeans and the ethnic cleansing of Europeans in many of Europe's cities

So when asked "Remember a lot of Europeans are people of colour" it puzzles me .
Why should a European be asked to "remember" a fallacy borne of political correctness?

It is wishful thinking borne of political correctness to label African and Asian settlers colonists and immigrants in Europe as "Europeans ".

It is a terrible shock to those who have been indoctrinated by the Eurocommunist EU system and its 'race industry'to realise that this European is one of the many who will always regard Africans and Asians as............. Africans and Asians irrespective of where they settle.

It refers to people who are identified by the majority group on the basis of skin tone.

And would you say that to a black person? To their face, that is, rather than on an internet forum?

There are many Black British people
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_black_Britons

are they not European?
If not then you have a fair few Olympic medals to hand back and a bunch of other awards.

The same way that Europeans emigrating to the USA become Americans.

I never really understood why some people got so fixated on the natural evolutionary pigment Melanin.
It is just bizarre when you think of it and read some of the posts.

So how do asians and africans who emigrate to europe become europeans?

They dont refer to themselves as such, they refer to their nationality,(in a recent 5pm new prog a Brit born Indian bloke call himself English! not even British...how rude!), if born or naturalised in Ireland they call themselves Irish or if in Britain they call themselves British...Same as a Brit born in Zimbabwe would call themselves Zimbabwian(well they wouldnt really) not Afrian...Nationality is different from your ethnicity.

The same way that Europeans emigrating to the USA become Americans.

Goes back to nationality and not ethnicity

I never really understood why some people got so fixated on the natural evolutionary pigment Melanin.

Why? Most if not all of the countries with dark skinned people are slow developing and flee to devleoped countries where they have light coloured skin - economics play a large part, but not always - As wrong as it is, white have always dominated and therefore dark skin will always be looked down on, even in countries where dark skin is prevalent, those with darker skin are looked down on - so its not just a European thing.

So, just because a lot of people have other skin color they got lower IQ or something?! Give me a break!
I thought going to School and reading books made you more intellectual :)
Well what do I know ;)

Why?

Because it is ridiculous, Melanin has no effect on people's ability to succeed in life.

Most if not all of the countries with dark skinned people are slow developing and flee to devleoped countries where they have light coloured skin

Again I recommend you read Guns, Germs, and Steel, it is an investigation in to that question.

so its not just a European thing.

I said ''some people'', not Europeans.

Look at the economic state of any country where they are darked skinned and you might find they fair less than those in fairer skinned countries...they dont even have the fundamental basics - is it just coincidence? Ireland was oppressed and still is in part but has made it through some difficult times and became an economic success (no black gold there either!)...Poland the same..

As for your recommendations, I know very well how asians feel about "dark" skinned asians, thats why the fashion industry and skin lighten products (carcinogenic and unregulated) and bollywood is full of fair skinned women..no dark ones, unlike in the west where we have every colour under the sun...(pardo the pun)...In all honesty S... we are less racist in the west than they are in their own countries! FACT!

No it is not coincidence, you should really read that book, you jump to conclusions because it suits you to do so.
If you really are as interested in this subject, as you appear to be by all your posts based on this, you will not mind reading someone asking the question.

As for your recommendations, I know very well how asians feel about...

I recommended a book to read what are you talking about?

FACT!

Oh, excuse me, I thought this was a discussion rather than you shouting anything you think backs up your racist view.

Is Poland a safe country for people of color?

three days should be enough and, then all nice guests go back from where they came
SeanBM  34 | 5781

Ive know enough Asias in my time to know how they look down on "dark" skin.

Oh, excuse me, I thought this was a discussion rather than you shouting anything you think backs up your racist view.

Its not racist, see above.

No it is not coincidence,

So what is it then? So the Irish should still be living in stone houses row up on row and tenements ? with crap (literally!) in the street? Me thinks they moved on..Or this that my imagination?

Do you honestly think that all asias like each other in the UK? Do you think they treat each other equally? Do you think they cant spot some village person? Do you think no matter now educated an asian person is they still cant make it to a polite society! usually dark skinned. Its considered crude!
SeanBM  34 | 5781

Ive know enough Asias in my time to know how they look down on "dark" skin.

But that has nothing to do with my book recommendation.

So what is it then?

You are not asking a question and it is obvious that you are not interested in investigating it at all. You just want more things that backup your already made up mind.

I have offered an alternative but you choose to ignore it and come out with something about Asians. I am not going to help you solidify your already immoveable opinion.

You keep recommending books when I have "real life" experience.

You are not asking a question and it is obvious that you are not interested in investigating it at all.

I have had friends that have made comments..I dont need a book to tell me, you evidently do.

You just want more things that backup your already made up mind.

See above.

I have offered an alternative but you choose to ignore it and come out with something about Asians.

No, what you did was "tell" me to read about something, when in reality, I have experienced something you have not.

Keep calling me a racist, I dont really care, as you can see I once upon a time had friends who were asian and realised what they were about...We make our own minds up as we go along in life, we dont just assume, thats the way I was brought up.

By killing the natives and introducing tropical diseases(small pox)?

If I move to Japan, work and pay taxes, do I become Japanese?

Yeah Pffft! books, who needs them...

We make our own minds up as we go along in life

You have made up your mind already, we both agree on that.
You are unwilling to look at any alternatives, the book is a genuine investigations in to this subject.

No, what you did was "tell" me to read about something,

I recommended it.

Are you drunk?

I have friends in France, Scottland, Ireland, England, Russia, Spain, Germany & Austria & every single one of them said that Poland is very racist and they dont think i should go there

I'm of color and I've been to every single one of those places and I live in England currently. In France a random stranger across a street gave me the finger while throwing a racial slur towards me, I've been called racist things countless times in both Scotland/England while I've been assaulted in St. Petersburg.. Possible because I was colored. Austria is just like Northern Europe and the people are reserved and might harbor hate against you depending on what kind of colored person you are. The Spanish can be very racist if you're black as black people flood into the country from north Africa and they certainly don't like that in Spain.

I've recently been to Poland and the the major cities were probably some of the least racist places in Europe. Warsaw was filled with Asian tourists and many different people and most of all it resembled Manhattan alot. So It's pretty safe to go there and I'm sure you won't run into any racism, in fact you'll probably run into less racism than in the U.S if any at all. The rural areas in Poland were less friendly but that's common for every hillbilly town in the world no matter where you are. As somebody else said, All the people you know in Western Europe who said Poland is racist are hypocrites. Western European nations are FAR more racist than Poland and the fact that you're actually thinking about meeting this guy in France is just stupid. There's no reason to cry about going to Poland... It's not Russia you know. It sounds like the people you've gotten advice from have either been Americans who're out of touch with reality or Western Europeans who all hold a grudge against Poland because migrant workers from Poland snatch their jobs from under their noses.

I think you should pack you're bags and go to Poland, nothings going to happen and you're probably going to have a great time. Just remember, be polite and don't act like a dumb (american) tourist.

Western European nations are FAR more racist

Whats the reason for that?
