The role of government agencies in Poland. Who is making decisions?

Whats this thing about a 'rada' , a 'komisja' or 'komitet' always deciding things in Poland? Could this be because whilst all are happy to argue and force their will on others, should anything go ape @%#x, there's no single figure to take responsibility?

No use trying to get any person in a gmina, wojewodztwo or even a ministry to make a decision for you. Its always one of those faceless 'group entities'. Never implicating one person in choices they make.

Could I risk an assertion that in an inherent weakness of a socialist society is inability to produce people with any sense of pride and responsibility. Where authority is purposely kept free from the competent and honorable, able to make and answer for their decisions in PERSON? Any thoughts?

Are you serious? I thought every modern democracy has local government, town councils e.t.c.

Not in US it not. President makes the decosions and carries the can. And localy its the county sherif. Letters you get are sined by him, if any,are signed by him,not a faceless office.

Here in the US, the Office of the President has traditionally, indeed historically, been that of "servant" to the Senate! In order for any president to declare war, for instance, an absolute 2/3 majority is necessary.The entire notion of checks and balances, so core to the American value system, has been to prevent precisely the sort of overweening power which our current leader is attempting to fortify, often at both the expense of our Constitution as well as Jeffersonian Democracy itself!

While I'm obviously not as familiar with Poland, what I've observed, it's Duda who has the power and Kaczynski who is the titular figure head, so to speak. Put another way, Duda is in Poland where Trump is here in the US, Kaczynski is more of what VP Pence would represent.

I am in Poland. but from living and working in 3 US states, in the past, I dont recall so many things being decided, actioned or signed by some faceless collectives..where often each member will point at 'the others' if any questions arise.

I'm wondering what you've been doing, because every decision I've ever received in Poland has been by a named individual.
