WTH? You could get a pracetamol?! I just have to drink water and wait until it's over! I am starting to think their are shortages of medicine in Norway... I should move to Poland
Also ive have been reading some of this, main problem for many western people in Poland is the thing of not funding a minority. Here in Norway there are organized minorities (Church etc) or even events! I bet you could sample up a bunch of Irish people toghether, and they wouldn't mind it :)

I was born in bielawa, poland (1hr from Wroclaw) in '84, moved to Mississauga, ON, Canada in '90 with my parents and brother, been here ever since.
I've been to Poland 3 times
94 - visit 99 - my dad's funeral 08 - to meet my wife's family and go with my wife to pick up her Canadian PR papers
and going again this July for my (church) wedding :P
I love Canada, the attractions, the people, lot of stuff, but my heart has always been in Poland.
I met my wife here in canada while she was here on visit 2yrs ago. We had a civil wedding, been married 1yr. which brings us to present day.
My wife really misses Poland as she has a huge family back home, I on the other hand have a small family in Poland but still bigger then what I have here (mom and brother). I've had numerous friends here in canada that have been here a couple years, some 20+ yrs and decided to move back to Canada. The economy in Canada is ok, but my week consists of work, sleep, and repeat. I've been told that even though Poland's economy is less then perfect, it's more laid back then Canada (not all work and no play).
I graduated from college with an advanced diploma in business administration-human resources, but currently work as a tech support agent at a help deks for one of Canada's biggest banks.
I've been reading about jobs in Poland, and the "simple life" intrigued me, teach english, come home and still have time have some free time to travel a bit, sight see, etc.
now down to my question...
In Canada there are 2 post secondary systems, universities & colleges. Colleges run 2-3yrs and you graduate with a diploma, with universities are 4+ yrs and you graduate with a degree/bachelors/masters.
I only have a diploma and wouldnt mind teaching english in Poland for a bit until I find some other job where English is an asset, as its practically my native tongue (20yrs) but everywhere I look it says that a bachelor's degree is required, is that true? or will diploma be viewed the same way?
I just want my wife to be happy, and my paper pushing job that I currently have is killing my spirits. not to mention the $1000+ plane ticket to Poland is a pain in the ass.
What do you guys think? Is there a chance for this 24yr old newlywed in Poland?
I alos havent ruled out another EU country as the plane ticket to Poland will be a lot cheaper then from Canada
I wouldn't say that everyone hates Islam at all but it's not part of life here. I'm glad about that as they've spread to enough places and have caused enough problems elsewhere, the radicals that is.
The advice about coming over a few times NOT in a "holiday" frame of mind is excellent. Here's something to consider about Warsaw (and I actually consider this a plus of the city): it is not like lots of Western European cities where everything is out on a plate. You have to seek and find for things here, which is actually good for us as people.
Plus even with an excellent public transport system (others may disagree but I think Warsaw has great transport links even mid-Remont) you still have to walk a lot - stairs, crossings etc. For someone who had a life which was quite sedentary in the UK this has come as a rude biological shock, and is helping me drop weight I've wanted to lose for years :)

Ok, I'll drag things back on topic. It looks like I'll be heading to Poland in about a month. My personal goal is to learn more Polish, but if I have a job too, it can't be bad :-)
So, based on that, I had an interview last Friday in Kraków, and should hopefully have a decision and answer by the end of this week. All going well, I'd hope to move over at the start of July!
i want to do that too! how did you work with visas or residencies or anything? im scared about that, im from indiana and need to get out of here with my son.
Was tired of living in NYC and the thought of living in Poland sounded great... and it has been... but I do miss New York at times. Luckily I still have an apt. there and can go back at any time...but something keeps me here...
I am also thinking of moving to Poland. My love is Polish, I am American...she is living in Germany right now and she hates it. I've mentioned sometime in the future if she'd move in with me...but it doesn't look good.
I guess I wouldn't mind living to Poland, it is very beautiful and I really like the people. I have already lived in Germany for a few years..and I do love her so much. But how would it be trying to find a job if I can't speak Polish? I am an MP in the Army...do you Polish guys out there think it'd be very hard to find decent work? I am not looking to be rich.. just to get by...just to spend my life with the woman I love...a simple life I guess :)

People who marry the polish girl, be very,very carefull, I know of many instance where the polish girl see a foreign born, (most poles believe that all foreign born have big big money) then they will be rich, in many instance the foreign man is no hoper and a reject from the country he come from. Marriage last very short as no rich man would ever consider to live in Poland, the no hoper then becomes the parasite and living off the polish community.
ive been ALL over the states and have yet to find anything as amazing as some places in Poland.
I'm sorry, i just cant believe that. A vast country like America, with a wide variety of climates and topographies and you can't find anything "as amazing as some places in Poland". PLease tell me where are these places?
