Random fine in Poland - Maybe Jaywalking - Does anybody actually pay these fines and how?

Hey folks,

Got off the tram today and walked along what seemed like a gravel path between the tram line and the road, as I got further down I realised I was just on the gravel that the track was laid on. A policeman waved at me to cross over to him. He didn't speak a word of English (fair enough im in Poland) and the Polish I know goes as far as telling him my hobbies and about my family.

He couldn't communicate why I was getting a fine, or how to pay it.

Does anybody actually pay these fines and how? I mean its like £10 so I don't really care. I tried to pay him there but he wouldn't take it.

Thanks
eh?

If he took some ID and EU address off you, you'll get a summons to court if you don't pay it. Don't get in the habit of crossing the road anywhere you please nor on the red man even if others do it.

Cheers for the reply.

I noticed they are religious about the red/green man. I was walking toward the crossing I just walked in the wrong spot I think haha. Oh well.

I think I figured out how to pay. There's a big long number and google translates the heading to "No. Offices account" and he kept saying something that sounded like internet while pointing at it.... so maybe its a bank transfer.
