Hey there.

To say it as it is.... Im in deep ****.
I bought a car in Sweden in 2008 and moved to Denmark in 2009, where I sold the car.
Now they in Sweden still think I own the car (money money money)
since it was a polish man I sold the car to I have reason to believe its registered in Poland and I REALLY
need to prove I dont own that car anymore. Can anyone tell me how to contact someone who knows if the car
is registered in Poland???
Thank you so much

Did you not put the buyer's name in the register?

You need to show the bill of sale. Simple.

Try to write a letter to:

MINISTERSTWO SPRAW WEWNĘTRZNYCH
02-591 WARSZAWA
UL. STEFANA BATOREGO 5

Try to explain your problem and ask to check the cars data in CEPIK (central evidence of vehihicules and drivers). You must know VIN of the car.

Why not just ask them to prove you DO own the car.....?

Merged: Tracing my old car in Poland

Please can someone help me - I am trying to trace a car that I sold to a person in Germany and then onto a person in Poland.

I'd like to contact the current owner wit the view of buying it back.

How can I go about finding the car in Poland. It is a RHD UK specification BMW.

Thank you,

Keith

AFAIK, it's impossible to register an RHD car in Poland, so it seems that it's still registered in Germany. I think you should try to find the person you have sold the car to.

Poland used to be a veritable graveyard for old, "hot" i.e. "stolen" West German cars way back in Post-Wall times.

As the former "Ossies" used to say, "Bleibt dein Wagen noch gestohlen, such' ihn wieder mal in Polen!" = Your car's been all but stol', AND, you'll likely find it out in PolAND.!"

Nobody in Germany says or said that because it does not make any sense in German.

- Maybe you could contact the person you have sold the car to in Germany to see if they have the contact details of the person they sold the car on to?

Someone has forgotten about one gold bar in the bumper ;)

Why?

Simply because it is a car that I would like to own again being a relatively rare UK RHD car.

Hence does anyone know if there is a central vehicle register similar to the UK's DVLA for Poland that I can contact to simply give me the name and contact number of a specific car's owner based on the VIN number which I have.

Thank you,

Keith

There is no legal way to obtain such a sensitive data I'm afraid.

Actually, there exists such a service://historiapojazdu.gov.pl/ but apart from the VIN, to access it you need to know the current registraton number and the date of the first registration (in Poland).

The exception is when your car is a bus, then you can get some data with the registration number only, using this webpage://bezpiecznyautobus.gov.pl/

But you don't know the registration number, so it's still not enough.

And, as I've said, it CANNOT have been registered in Poland if it's an RHD. Unless the owner modified it and moved the steering wheel to the left.

I am not sure, though, if it's also impossible with vintage cars.

And this services still doesn't show the car owner. It's too "sensitive" data to make it accessible on the Internet.
