So he holds a regular surgery with constituents in an aging and declining population. Big deal. He is nothing more than a simple caretaker for people who now have little wants or needs in life. An apathetic electorate to be sure.
A regular surgery? Far more than that, as far as I'm aware. He was (maybe still is, I haven't read about him in a while) involved with many community ventures and took up many issues on behalf of the people.
You mean he is not compensated at all? Not even one złoty goes from the taxpayer to his bank account? Sorry for you but he is not a volunteer by any stretch of the imagination. It sounds like he is earning a very easy paycheck indeed. As far as being ordinary the electorate deserve far more than that from their politicians or is this ordinary immigrant filling one of those jobs that ordinary Poles refuse to do?
He was doing all these things long before he entered the Sejm. In fact, as I recall, it's how he started in politics - because he took up the issues of the common people.
And yes, the ordinary Poles somewhat tend to refuse to do such things. There's nothing similar where I live, except a useless local community council that does its best not to tell anyone anything about themselves.
Any reasonable person would agree that success in helping others should be identifiable and measurable. Genuine politicians and economists spend their days identifying needs in society and taking measurements and then acting on them.
And who, in today's Europe, does such a thing in politics? Do remember that neither of them hold any positions of power within the government - they are backbenchers with no real influence on Governmental policy.
Surely after all this time at least one average Pole would testify to others that they found the inspiration to get a job or start a business thanks solely to the supposed good deeds of either Godson or Munyama.
Go ask the people of Lodz or the graduates of the university of Economics in Poznan. Not me, for am I neither.
So another way of looking at it is that immigration doesn't make a difference in the long run. All you really need is enough mundane locals and they will get any job done just as well.
Except the locals aren't actually doing this stuff. It's quite shameful that it took an African immigrant to get stuff done in Lodz rather than a local, isn't it?
what do you do for the community oh great delph?
More than you.
If you want to do something for Poland, I'm sure I can arrange something. I could do with someone for the last 2 weeks of January for a community-based initiative to provide English language football training for poor kids that can't afford private English classes.
