Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best?

He's done far more than you, that's for certain.

A brave statement considering you know very little about me. He does some stuff for the community does he? You mean to say after he was elected he actually did something? What a great guy. Anyway what exactly does he do for the community? Since you like to keep having a go at me and assuming I do nothing, what do you do for the community oh great delph?

So he holds a regular surgery with constituents in an aging and declining population. Big deal. He is nothing more than a simple caretaker for people who now have little wants or needs in life. An apathetic electorate to be sure.

A regular surgery? Far more than that, as far as I'm aware. He was (maybe still is, I haven't read about him in a while) involved with many community ventures and took up many issues on behalf of the people.

You mean he is not compensated at all? Not even one złoty goes from the taxpayer to his bank account? Sorry for you but he is not a volunteer by any stretch of the imagination. It sounds like he is earning a very easy paycheck indeed. As far as being ordinary the electorate deserve far more than that from their politicians or is this ordinary immigrant filling one of those jobs that ordinary Poles refuse to do?

He was doing all these things long before he entered the Sejm. In fact, as I recall, it's how he started in politics - because he took up the issues of the common people.

And yes, the ordinary Poles somewhat tend to refuse to do such things. There's nothing similar where I live, except a useless local community council that does its best not to tell anyone anything about themselves.

Any reasonable person would agree that success in helping others should be identifiable and measurable. Genuine politicians and economists spend their days identifying needs in society and taking measurements and then acting on them.

And who, in today's Europe, does such a thing in politics? Do remember that neither of them hold any positions of power within the government - they are backbenchers with no real influence on Governmental policy.

Surely after all this time at least one average Pole would testify to others that they found the inspiration to get a job or start a business thanks solely to the supposed good deeds of either Godson or Munyama.

Go ask the people of Lodz or the graduates of the university of Economics in Poznan. Not me, for am I neither.

So another way of looking at it is that immigration doesn't make a difference in the long run. All you really need is enough mundane locals and they will get any job done just as well.

Except the locals aren't actually doing this stuff. It's quite shameful that it took an African immigrant to get stuff done in Lodz rather than a local, isn't it?

what do you do for the community oh great delph?

More than you.

If you want to do something for Poland, I'm sure I can arrange something. I could do with someone for the last 2 weeks of January for a community-based initiative to provide English language football training for poor kids that can't afford private English classes. Interested? Accommodation is provided.

I feel like puking when think about ********* Polish retards gave 2 good jobs to aliens from 3rd world, WTF is going on in this country???

Please read about them before you comment. Ridiculous is that a stinking pederast and a disgusting transverstit got elected. These Negros are fine. It doesn't mean we should import millions of Africans but some smart individuals can be found in every part of the world.

Mainly because the Europeans in this case are useless.

Every piece of technology you are currently using was invented by Europeans.

The democracy we currently enjoy, Europeans.

Medical advancement and people living after their 30th birthday, Europeans.

And so on and so forth.

oh for God's sake... YOU must be living in a cave.

Nah, I live in a nice semi four bedroom with a nice hot tub out the back and a '10 alpha romeo out the front.

Sometimes a picture paints a thousand words.

And so on and so forth.

So why is it that they had to rely on a guy from Nigeria to actually help them with their problems?

Even I see the complete absurdity in having to import someone to help the locals because the locals can't help themselves.

Politicians get into politics to enrich and empower themselves. Especially the blacks. Its why Africa is such a complete and utter hole.

Or, do you think this Godson character had a dream one night in his Lagos apartment, woke up and decided that it was time to hit the road, relocate to Lodz and help the locals?

A modern day Joan of Arc, Godson of Lodz!

Judge them on their record, not on their ethnicity.

Then you are in an excellent position to make some charitable contributions to those that are not so fortunate...

Also check out the third world these days:

He uses it when it suits him, does he not?

"The Polish Obama!"

Opens himself to criticism due to his ethnicity so. Fair game.

Question one, can you name one decent black run country?

Question two, can you name one decent predominantly black country?

Far more than that, as far as I'm aware...

In fact, as I recall...

You have exposed your own doubts. Your responses are too qualified to be taken seriously and don't deserve a reply.

And who, in today's Europe, does such a thing in politics?

So according to you these two heroes are just ordinary folk doing the best they can but when you reasonably ask for measurable results of what they've done other than have an immigrant background the shrill cry goes up that no one in Europe measures performance in politics! No wonder the majority of voters are so disaffected and don't care about who is standing in an election. They know it makes little to no difference in their daily lives who gets in and the politicians and their stooge supporters know it as well and so are very content to maintain the status quo. And this explains why millions of Poles have gone abroad.

Go ask the people of Lodz or the graduates of the university of Economics in Poznan.

Oh, so you are willing to defend these two greasy pole climbers with very vague and guarded wording but when pressed for real proof you expect me to go around taking my own street surveys. You're just dodging the issue because you have no answers (or more likely don't want to admit to the reality of the answers) to the very questions you had the temerity to ask me.

Go read for yourself. It's all there - or even better, ask the people of Lodz why they voted for him overwhelmingly in 2011.

And this explains why millions of Poles have gone abroad.

Well, go ahead and ask the people of Lodz what they've done. Or even better, ask the students at the university what they think.

As for the Poles having gone abroad - there are millions of other people who live abroad, too. No big deal.

Oh, so you are willing to defend these two greasy pole climbers but when pressed for proof you expect me to go around taking my own street surveys.

Why take a street survey? The popularity of Godson (and the street politics of Killion) speak for themselves.

Both of them got to where they were not because they rode behind the leaders, but because they did something tangible for local communities and people. Unless of course, you count supporting locals as being insignificant because it doesn't result in wealth creation...

Sadly, both of them have done a far better job with their local constituents than most of the local born ones. They certainly didn't get elected for any other reason.

You might want to check these facts. Either google them or visit your local library.
Can you tell me, for instance, which European countries invented medicine, gunpowder, algebra or even the wheel?

But what acts of legislation have either of them authored that significantly improved the quality of life for all Poles?

Do you desire to supplement your knowledge with new information or are you testing me?

How about a little search?

johngodson.pl

Godson is well known to be a "man of the people" - he did a hell of a lot in Lodz for people, which is why he got elected in the first place. It's well known that now that he's in the Sejm, he's focusing on ordinary issues of ordinary people, rather than trying to be a legislator. He has immense personal popularity in Lodz - because he cares about the people.

Chosen at random from his site - he sponsors junior high school students with his own scholarships.

Dear students!

If you are creative and have innovative and interesting ideas related to the vision of Our Town, in the future, we invite everyone to participate in the competition "£ÓD- OF MY DREAMS ". The prize is a scholarship in the amount of 200 zł per month for the school year 2013/14 year. The winners will also have the opportunity to pursue an internship in the Office of Deputies John Godson. The competition is open to high school students. The aim is to encourage them to think creatively about Lodz through artistic expression in the form of ideas for exploiting the potential of the city and its ideas in the future. So far, the scholarship received more than 72 young, ambitious people.

johngodson.pl/?page_id=10

They are there (not only Godson and the other one but all of them) to improve their's (in a broad sense) quality of life

Whjy are you in US? Were you a political refugee?

No, you went to US to improve your fekking quality of life.

Remember one saying: Live and let live.

Except Godson has done far more for Polish people than you ever will.

Funny and sad at the same time.

How many jobs or new businesses have either of these two men been directly responsible for creating?

If I say zero, will it entail condemnation from your side?

If I say Godson has worked on improving the quality of life of average residents of the city of £ódź, will you be satisfied?

Great idea. I hope to do the same with elementary school children someday - I got exceptionally angry a few days ago after reading about how much money parents have to spend on books. Any of our usual suspects want to contribute on PF?

Good question.

Polish society can run its course with or without them. If they weren't there (and eventually they will have to vacate their positions) someone else would be doing their jobs. That's the facts of life.

Yes, of course. Nobody is irreplaceable. If one day you or me vanish from this forum for ever, do you think anybody will care? :):):):)

:):):):):) Guys, I love this exchange of yours.

PF is irreplaceable, after all.

interesting point, but what your list has in common, is that all these were from the elite of their countries, and held the 'top job'.

so I don't think they are comparable with Godson.

They all started off with the promise of doing the best for their constituents/people, they all lied. The fact that they reached the top only goes to show that they lied better than those around them.

Honest men seem to be in a very small minority. Edmund Burke (1729-1797) on being asked why he wanted to be a member of Parliament replied " I wish to have my share of doing good and resisting evil",

possibly the last, honest, politician.

Edmund Burke

... it ought to be the happiness and glory of a representative to live in the strictest union, the closest correspondence, and the most unreserved communication with his constituents. Their wishes ought to have great weight with him; their opinion, high respect; their business, unremitted attention. It is his duty to sacrifice his repose, his pleasures, his satisfactions, to theirs; and above all, ever, and in all cases, to prefer their interest to his own. But his unbiased opinion, his mature judgment, his enlightened conscience, he ought not to sacrifice to you, to any man, or to any set of men living. These he does not derive from your pleasure; no, nor from the law and the constitution. They are a trust from Providence, for the abuse of which he is deeply answerable. Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion.[54]
