Are there any Muslim areas in Poland?

I live in Poland and I wish to find an area that alcohol is for the most part not present. I don't really want my kids to be raised under the dangerous influences of alcohol. And one more question. Are their any wonderful mosques in the Capital? I heard there was one being built back in 2010 but I never heard of it since and I would love to visit.

Poland is vodka-land. Finding alcohol free zones in Poland is impossible.
You would easier find an Iceberg in Algeria or nice sandy beach on Greenland.

There are some Tatar muslim communities living around Białystok. But they are Polish too.

So why did you come to Poland in the first place?

Why do you want a place without alcohol, just because you have chosen not to drink, should that mean that others cannot too?
Maybe mate you need to become more tolerant of people who wish to drink.

I don't understand why the OP would think there would be a dry area in Poland. The UK has a large Muslim community and yet there are off licenses everywhere there. If you choose to live in a non-Muslim country then you need to accept that Sharia law will not apply. Same applies to someone from Europe moving to Saudi for work, you just need to accept the bad differences with the good.

There is no such area unfortunately in Poland. I'm Muslim living here too and all I can say people here hate Muslims and if your have such choice i would recommend you to find other better country today live in like I'm willing to do :)

First of all as a Muslim living in the west let me explain the premise from which this question stems from, particularly for our non Muslim guests. The reason is that as Muslims we have been given a pure way of living, a clear code of conduct which safeguards us as human from sin and regrettable consequences here in this world and ultimately in the hereafter leading to hellfire. As Muslims we worship only one Allah and follow his instructions and try to obey His commandments. With this in mind it makes it easy for Muslims to practice their beliefs and raise their children in an environment where people share similar beliefs and practices.

Muslims are very inviting, in fact it is haraam (forbidden to be racist and force religion upon someone.) On the contrary Muslims have been very tolerant towards other communities. At the end of the day it is better to walk down a clean street rather than walk down through a dirty alley.

To answer the question, I have found Muslim communities towards north east Poland like Bialystok and in smaller communities in most cities like Krakow and Warsaw.

There has been an Islamic presence in Poland since the Fourteenth Century.

There are long-standing communities in Kruszniany, Podlasie and some villages around, also communities of Polish Muslims in Białystok and Gdańsk (these communities were originally Tatar but are now Polonised and largely indistinguishable from their neighbours) as well as more recent communities in Warsaw, Kraków and Poznań, but above all in Warsaw.

Kruszniany doesn't have a shop so buying vodka is no issue and in any case not all (very few even) Polish Muslims abstain. Nor are there any predominantly Muslim areas however vodka is sold near the few mosques that it is. Worth mentioning that alcohol sales are banned close to churches in PL.

I have been reading about Poland and Polish people and these far-right groups that oppose Muslims and Islam in Poland. I do believe that some level of paranoia and fear is normal especially with radical groups such as ISIS. These articles give a grime reality of how Muslims are treated in Poland. Can polish people living in Poland give me feedback on the matter? Are these articles true or a mere exaggeration? Also, how do you think Muslims are treated in Poland?

@Zaven: although 99.99% of Poles hate Muslims and everybody who happens to be/look different, since the Muslims must represent some 0.0....% in Poland, it is not an issue. People will not accept you but they will not bother you too... If coming to Poland, you'll hang around your Muslim buddies and that's all. 99.99% of Poles see Muslims the way Polish tv show them and do not try to see beyond....

It depends. Every municipality (gmina) have its own regulations regard this subject.

Biedronka is a shop, not a bar.

There are some exceptions involving bars/restaurants in cities, however the rule still stands in most places.

Well they do sell alcohol, because in Syria there's a similar rule and it applies to all stores or restaurants that sell alcohol.

There's one place somewhere in Poland where a shop owner made stairs with handrails going left and right like 5 times to make the distance far enough from the church (or school...?). No kidding.

That's an extremely good point. There used to be a (short-lived) little bar in Warsaw right behind the church on pl. Zbawiciela however it was low-key, didn't last long and in theory you'd have to walk a long way round.

However closer to the OP's question, alcohol is part of the culture of Poland - after all, some say it's where vodka originated - however there are not many suburban pubs or bars and it is easy to avoid.

Yet. Remember that Poland is supposed to receive in the next 12 months 20 thousand illegal immigrants. (Thank Angela Merkel for that).

Since the average birth rate in Afhganistan / Somalia / Yemen is around 6 kids per woman, in 2 years those 20 thousand will bring their kids and wifes (can be around 4 wifes, but lets be optimistic and say that each one have only 1).

So, at the end of the day, in 2 years Poland will have 160 000 illegal immigrants.

So then they will be able to create a city of the size of Rzeszów.

At this city, the Polish constitution will not be the law. Instead, the law will be their own law.

Poland is also highly likely to enforce the law with them - they aren't going to be allowed to settle here permanently.
