I hadn't been in the M&S food counter in Arkadia for ages, but I have the impression they hiked up their prices quite a lot. Anybody else has the same feeling?

Could be that they're not doing too well with food in Poland - they cut back their choice quite dramatically in Poznan.
I was always buying corned beef there, but at 20 PLN a tin....
If any PF member where to buy corned beef in Warsaw, information welcome :)

They have more choice in Warsaw than they used to (more shelves full of products in the same amount of floorspace as there used to be). They've also added a bakery, so you can now get superb muffins, crumpets and the like.
Why not just order this: britishcornershop/princes-john-west-corned-beef-large
Delivery is £12 (60zl) for up to 20kg. If you spend £100 or more, delivery is £6.

I'm really gutted about the fact they seem to be closing all stores in Poland. The Warsaw stores seem busy. I'd say they could do with just one as both are quite close to each other. It's really nice grabbing the odd British beer, some nice chutney or getting the clothing staples from there. I can get all these elsewhere but it's a really schlep going round Carrefour etc.
Well, with respect you certainly can't get the same clothes in Carrefour. The quality doesn't compare.
I only went to M&S a couple of times (in Warsaw, I don't even know if they have a store where I live) so this isn't exactly crushing news for me.
But it does show (again) that for all the neo-communist rhetoric of PiS, foreign retailers actually tend to have a hard time of it in Poland and don't end up with much profit for the huge capital outlays they have to make.
Economic illiterates imagine that they're carting money out of Poland in semis but the reality is different....

Let the healing begin!

Closure of M&S in Poland has nothing to do with PiS.
