Is living cost in Poland is lower than Germany ? if yes, could u give me some comparison about that ? Thank

Yes, much lower. I'd say that Germany (like France I guess) is way too expensive, in a way ;)
Poland is much more affordable. Of course, it depends on how much you make every month.
In Poland, you can have a decent life with around 4000PLN, net (around 1000 euros). Maybe a bit more in big cities.

It really depends on ones' lifestyle... generally services are a lot cheaper in most cases, rent/bills/food cheaper but not that much, consumer goods, usually the same or more expensive.

- here they say that Warsaw is around 25% cheaper, when comparing with Berlin (considered in Germany as a cheap city).

- SGH is the best in Poland, but I don't think that it's recognized internationally, so if you don't plan to work in Poland after graduation, perhaps better do master in Germany.

It's one of the best univ level school in Poland, however I don't have any first hand experience with them, so hard to say If it is due to teaching quality or more due to attracting skilled students... Besides hard to tell how much their degree is worth abroad... but for sure it's not any clown school.

General consensus seems to be that degrees in Polish from a good university are worth something, but English language courses are mostly seen as being a complete joke (why would anyone come to Poland to study in English when they can study in an English speaking country?).

So average salary:

Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS) provided in 2009 that 65,35% of Polish wages are below Polish avarage wage and this is a fact.

The most common wage was 2.091,35 (about 700USD)

Only 10% earned more than 5.376,34 PLN (1792 USD)

only 34,65% employees had avarage wages (3.232,07)(1077USD)

All data quoted are gross monthly wages.

In relation to wage and context it is much cheaper to live in Germany ; otherwise Poland would be flooded with Germans rather than the other way round

It depends on so many things that is hard to say. I have lived in both countries and find poland much more affordable. Food is about the same, if not cheaper in germany but cultural housing/events/restaurants and going out in general is cheaper in Poland.

some things are cheaper, some are more expensive.... and some are the same. example: i paid 60 cents for 3.5% milk this morning.

with some of the housing offers i've seen on here i'd say that plenty of folk are paying less in Germany.

Certainly it's cheaper to live in many parts of the ex-DDR than in Western Poland.

Perhaps you may enlighten us why you choose to bother studying for a masters degree when there is no job available at the end of your torturous studies? Why don't you head to the UK like bunches of Poles have previously done and use your maths and economic skills to claim as much welfare as you may be entitled to?

As her economy improves though, Poland will start becoming more expensive. Having never compared the living standard in either, I cannot accurately judge:-)

I was so surprised when I got to Poland: If you still think Poland is not really developed then you have no idea. They are something like Europe's tiger state with an ever-growing standard of living. In 20 years they will be on-par with Finland, I think. Plus they all speak English!

Things might look different in Poland in the countryside, outside the big cities though.

One city was referred to as the Miracle on the Vistula, i.e. the Slavic Tiger, because of her miraculous development!

If you are a foreigner, nope you wouldn't earn 4000 PLN (only promising money). I think better to go to England than German and earn your money, your respect. You can earn there 1500-2000 Pounds a month,as a worker and 3000-5000 pounds as a computer operator. 1000 times better than Poland. All Foreigners, including Asians, Americans and Europeans including Poles go to England, Denmark and earn handsome amount of money. I hope that you can speak English, so earn and enjoy your money.

By the way English people are rude, but they are kind and pay you money and respect to other Nations, I am a Pakistani and I must say that English people are better than other nations in Europe. They dam care from which nation you belong too.

@Nojas go and experience yourself. England is not far away from Poland, by a ticket of a cheap airways like ryan air and enjoy learning the Europe. Poles can't speak English well, nor any other language except Polish. They are studying English now. We Asians were in fact the colony of England, so in our schools our teacher taught us English. Difficult for someone who is from Asia, America, Africa to migrate to Poland in search of Job. Polish Language is too difficult, I believe it is the 2nd difficult language of the world. 1st Chinese and 3rd German. Only few German and English students came to Poland for a semester than return, They all complains about polish behavior.

The countryside looks even better in terms of rapid development than the cities!

Costs of living are IMO lower in Germany if you takes the earnings in Germany and not those in Poland into account. You earn much more while grocery is not much more expensive, maybe with the exception of fruit and vegetables - those are cheaper and of better quality in Poland.


3rd German? Nope. In some aspects it's even easier than English. And languages like Finnish or Hungarian are also not easy.

And why is everyone considering Polish so diffucult and Russian at the same time not? Grammar is quite similar. The only difficult thing in Polish I may think of is that we have quite a wide variety of different sounds - from nasal, French-sounding vowels such as ą and ę to hard "humming" cosonants like sz, cz or dz. But it's not something that is not present in other European languages, in Polish it's just everything mixed together.
