Hello everyone.

I am French and I am currently living in Singapore.
I had an offer for a Job in Poland for 8.000 zlotys a month. As an european I do not know the value of it to live in Poland.

Life in Singapore is nice however they are offering me a position in a company I like, in an industry I like too.

Should I jump for it? Would you consider it as enough for living?

Thanks a lot.

What city is the job in?
Personally I wouldn't move here for that salary. It's not bad, but it's not great either.
20% of that is taced and your rent will probably be 1000-1500 per month, so you'll have approx 5000zl left, take your travel costs and food from that and you'll have (300 food per week & 150 pertrol per week) and you'll have in and around 3000.

So you'll have less than 1000Euro for yourself per month.

Will that give you a better liftstyle than what you currently have?

Than again what about a stepping stone to a company and job you like for the future in europe? The hardest thing will be weather after singapore lol and the apparant million fold increase in personal space. As french you will also be very safe. Cheers.

I think it would be enough ( also depends on in which town) but everyone is different. Maybe you should go for short holidays to Poland first. I know holiday is not the same like living there but just for general feeling.

For me it would be very brave to move to completely new country I know very little about.

8.000 zlotys a month.

Is that after tax or before?

Either way, it isn't a great salary for an expat unless you're very young and no dependents. Even then...

Most people in Poland earn no more than around 2000 zł.

I don't know what kind of job it is, but 8000 zł looks good. Even if it's the gross salary, after subtracting the taxes and obligatory health and pension insurance, it should be no less than 5000-6000 zł.

The average for 2015 was 4163,98 zł. Remember that the average is also made up of part-time workers, low-paid shop workers and civil servants etc. and people in the poorest rural areas. Plus expats generally have to pay a little more for housing, don't have the same access to credit and of course a visit home to relatives costs rather more than just a bus fare...

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your answers.

If it can help it's 8000 net + bonus on results.
I do not know if it change something.

I would go for it. No worries, you will not starve. And France is much closer so visiting your family/friends would not take as much money and time from you as flying from/to Singapore.

How much do you make working in Singapore?
