Fashion and Style in Poland

Not this season.

There are two varieties of string vest as far as I can tell. There are off-white ones worn by fat men who do building work (or just very little work at all), and there are black string vests worn by certain kinds of ladies in the modelling business.

I like them, they soak up the sweat rather than let ur t-shirt get drenched. They are not so popular tho but they are so useful

the above is from the gospel itself. following seanus' advice will allow you to increase the life of your wardrobe's better items simply by not having to wash them after every wearing. of course if you're like me then your sweat actually smells like sweet and zesty nectar and this isn't a problem. but if you're like seanus (hehehe)..., well then you'd better invest in some string vests and pronto.

horses have been wearing string vests to soak up sweat for years. I'm not sure what nationality this one is, looks kind of German though.

Polish kids/teens fashion style?

What kinds of clothes do kids in Poland where? what brands are popular there? Are baggy pants or pants low showing underwear popular there? What about piercings/tattoos? Are they popular with Polish youth. I might go there for highschool and I want to know what the teens are like.

G-String style bikinis are generally the sexiest. Sexy swimwear is important to show others that you have a great body.

it is like anywhere else, you get
dresy = they usually wear nike sneakers, joggin pants , and have shaved heads or reall short hair
goths/metalheds - well you know what they wear

'rich kids' - those kids who wear absurdly expensive brands and like to flaunt their crap ..
then you have people who wear things like they just came out of Britpop videoclip

and skatekids .

I am french and i am living in Poland, and I must say that Polish Girls are really very very fashion. The guys are less fashion but it is ok. Moreover in Poland you really have the same shops as in every country : Zara , H&M , Kenzo , Sephora.... As well as you have very good website to buy fashion clothes, Intymna.pl ( for lingerie) , Vintageshop.pl ( for vintage clothes , And I have just been invited by a friend to become member of a club where you can buy all the best brands for really cheap : espace-max.pl , if you want to enter the site you need to be member ( you can use my email: michourocard@yahoo.fr )

ha ha yeah right, people always stare if you look just a tad different from average. in UK some people wear flip flops and short sleeves in the winter (obviously when there's no snow) whilst everyone else is wearing coats and boots but nobody stares, in Poland they would drop their shopping bags and gasp in disbelief ha ha... funny thing is, they dress up to go to a supermarket, i mean you will never see people in their pjs (God forbid) or wellies in biedronka :D. maybe it is true that Nie szata zdobi człowieka, but they will so judge you on what you're wearing. just some of my observations. and all Polish girls try to look the same, there are hardly any individual styles.

And that's wrong? I think people who wear PJs outside their homes are seriously messed up. What next - going out in your underwear? And of course people would gasp in disbelief if they saw someone in short sleeves in winter, it's cold in winter and a normal person has enough self-preservation instinct to realise that and dress accordingly. I don't understand why people who dress foolishly and / or inappropriately shouldn't draw stares and attract attention. I always dressed quite flamboyantly in Poland and if people stared I took it as a compliment ;-)

In the UK people don't stare because they don't acknowledge your existence, and because they couldn't care less about your style or lack thereof, not because they are polite or tolerant.

I used to be shocked when I first came to US and would see women going out shopping with their hair curlers on. Now that's trashy.

My question is why polish girls wear most often jeans while Russian and Ukrainian ones prefer skirts.

I enjoy my trips to alma in sweat pants and an old black flag hoodie. Might as well be comfortable while shopping, I'm not out to impress.

and that's the way it should be, why should you care if the person is just a random on the street? live and let live


have i said it was wrong? to me going out for any reason wearing pjs, robes or anything inappropriate is wrong. it doesn't take long to throw some clothes on. there's been quite a dispute here recently because tescos banned people wearing pyjamas and this guy who didn't wear shoes (!) from shopping in their stores, and people are actually outraged and blame tescos for being 'stuck up'. it's funny how those chavs have the time to put on their make up and jewelry, but clothes/shoes - nope.

It's not rude as such. I sometimes enjoy being stared at ;-p


I don't think it's OK if people are so confined within their own little world that they don't realise there are other people out there. I prefer people who react to me, even negatively, to people who just look straight through me (this is rude in my opinion).

i hate it! i often catch people staring and it makes me think i have a bit of my lunch on my face or there's something wrong with my clothes lol. if someone is staring they usually get my 'WTF' look ha ha.

I don't tend to dress in discarded banana skins and old rags, so hopefully "ewww" is not a reaction I often encounter ;-)

But yes, I prefer someone to give me an outraged / surprised look than to to totally ignore me (if I know I look "different" of course).

In other words, I prefer living, breathing people, with the capacity to be shocked or amused, to indifferent and disinterested ladies and gentlemen who are afraid of even casual eye contact.

Ofc just rushing past each other in the street is another kettle of fish.

ahh i see, you like to be noticed! attention seeker comes to mind, but i'm sure it's totally not like that :P. if a guy walks into a lamp post whilst ogling at me then of course i will take it as a compliment :)


ok cos i thought you meant people in the street, so who is it that you wanna make an impression on so much? cos if i make an effort with how i look then i suppose it is nice that other people notice it, getting evils from other girls and all that is funny too, but most importantly i want the people that matter to me to notice and compliment me, not some randoms in the street drooling or shouting from their cars...

the womens fashion and sense of style is horrible! I cant understand the need for jeans and white trainers all the time, casual dress can be stylish too! and when smartly dressed they look like they are going to work on a street corner.

People on the street if I'm just walking enjoying myself, or people on the bus / tube, people in the pub...

Overall, dressing is a social activity, a sort of one-person theatre, and if you have no audience than why bother to live (and dress) at all? ;-))))

do you get many people coming over to you to compliment you or smiling at you? like i said i like attention but only from people that matter to me, i hate judging people based on their look and vice versa, i don't wanna be judged. if someone is dressed a bit out of ordinary then i'll just casually walk past, there are some weird dressed people around here sometimes... that's how they wanna look and it doesn't affect my life in any way, i don't expect many people are after a 'reaction' either. i'm aware that i draw many looks but it's not my goal or my wish to get 'noticed' all the time. i'm not some aspiring model (too old for that anyway ha ha). i like to look good and be dressed well (i have a great wardrobe and some really nice garments) but i do it for me and my happiness, not for the others.


there is always an audience but don't expect a standing ovation every single time you 'perform' lol
