I would like to see an increase of enforcement by the Polish authorities regarding drivers and the use of their mobile phones whilst driving. It seems that in almost every car I look, the driver is engaged in deep conversation on their phone, which as we all know can be the cause of accidents on a catastrophic scale due to the lack of concentration. I know this is a global problem but something needs to be done about it. UK cops would have a field day over here.....3 points and a £60 fine thank you very much....next please !
Drivers and Mobile Phones In Poland

I would like to see the enforcement of cops not taking bribes for misdemeanours like these.
Speeding fines are no problem, just hand the cop 100zl with you license and problem disappears.
It's a sad state of affairs but that's just how it is here.
Utter nonsense.. Was the case 10 years ago, no longer true..
Lucky you ! I had to pay 400zl !!
Alex67 The drivers on the phones need to be shot. Police need to do something asap. I saw a woman on the phone behind a police car the other day. They did nothing, lazy good for nothing police.
Smurf do not be so stupid. If anyone does hand the police officer 100zl when they get pulled over should go to jail.
My biggest pet hate in Poland is drivers. They are so up there own arses. They need to learn other drivers are on the road too and we are going places.
I would like to see the police stood at some problem traffic lights. Pull every driver over uses the other lane and pushes in at the last minute.

Sad to say but this still does exist.....
most patrol cars have cameras in them now so it is harder to take a bribe.

I told my boss recently that I'm not going to pick up the phone while driving anymore. Of course he wasn't happy. Result: calls drop (new tasks) 60 percent ;)

It's illegal in Poland, but they still risk it. Selfishness is part of the driving culture.
Speeding too - a kind of sarmacka fantazja thing. Definitely not clever, and frankly self-destructive, but still they do it.
This quote is something of an understatement:
Local driving standards are poor: speed limits, traffic lights and road signs are often ignored and drivers rarely indicate before manoeuvring.......

Still works out in the sticks - don't even think about it round Warsaw.

You're the one talking nonsense :P
Every traffic cop I've ever come across we've always been able to come to an arrangement.
Still works out in the sticks
Yea, I live out in the sticks. (^_^)
Prob costs 200zl in thievin' Warsaw :P
The Silesian Metropolis lies within one of the largest urban areas in European Union. Its population is 2,039,454 (2008)
Apologies for a [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upper_Silesian_Metropolitan_Union] Wiki link, but it was the only one I could find in Eng

Either you live in the sticks (the Silesian Metropolis, give me a break!) or you're a liar
I dont think telephones are the problem, while in Poland are more car accidents in all EU countries together ..
The roads are ridicolous for 2013 and once I saw in Zabrze, that a man drank beer while driving ..

Last bus I got 6 months ago went like this, bus driver,in a city, stops and picks me and 3 others up while on the phone; and, continued phone chat while we paid our fares; he just did the whole transaction with one hand while deep in conversation with some pal. To make it even worse he proceeded in this pattern for the next 5 stops, and not one passenger seemed the slightest bit concerned. Twilight zone of apathy.
you're a liar
Next time I'll video it, I'm sure the cop won't mind. :P
