its common here if you dont pay an incentive (shall we say) you get crap service period or back of the line.

Emmm..... Common? I know a lot of doctors who don't take bribes.
Don't listen to people' opinions. If you intend to give it, you will do it.
So, try not to give it and expect as good treatment as without giving bribes. doctors earn enough to live.

I came in with 10k in cash and was pushing It into that guy's mouth

You came in with 10K? youve been trying to buy a gold membership on here for two years at $25.... besides even if that story was true which i doubt it, any Docotor will smell a rat at being handed 10K, thats why they tell you to leave bags outside, their worried about hidden cameras. You should have offered 1k.

If you must pay then do It but next eliminate the trash, who took the cash, cut off dirty hands which take that cash, that's the only solution to this problem.

Of course its absolutely disgusting and really needs to be dealt with. Its the Doctors committing a crime for accepting and the governments at fault for not having the resources. The poor old patient (and Family) is left with a difficult choice.

So, try not to give it and expect as good treatment as without giving bribes. doctors earn enough to live.

Cancer treatment ie, chemotherapy and radioptherapy is not available in Poland at the moment in short notice there is a three month waiting list. Consultations in certain areas are over 6 months wait. This period which can allow cancer to metastise, invade other organs, spread via the lymph nodes or blood vessels is a death sentance. Whats the bigger crime? Wait and possibly die or pay an incentive for fast track service? Cancer is a terrible disease which has my mother in law totally crippled. In the UK time is of the essence, diagnoses, action plan, treatment, pronto.

The system is rotten to the core. However once you start recieving treatment its usually pretty decent.

G you shouldnt really be threatening me for exposing truths, this matter needs to be dealt with. Youre attitude is a sweep under the carpet you know that. If youre story is true youre more than aware and angered by this system.

Wait 3 months on the NHS or pay to go private - so in Poland you give a backhander or in the UK you are forced to pay to go private (to see the same consultant by the way - ..

That's a very fair point, are those two scenarios really so different?

are those two scenarios really so different?

Institutionalised behaviour (legitimacy), invoicing and being able to claim it off your health insurance (if you are covered.)

I have heard of people, in the far East, paying doctors when they are healthy, so when they are sick the docotor looks after them for free.

I don't know the intricacies of it or how it would work in reality but I suppose the good thing about that way is that then the onus is on the doctor to keep you healthy.

Now the damned bastards are demanding theirs bribes officially.
Recently I tried to find the doctor for my mother, for tarczyca (thyrod gland?)
They will not see anybody at this year. The first term I'd be able to find without giving the bribe would be at the December.

And at every registration boxoffice there is the piece of paper saying something like "Private visit=100 zl" If you pay, you can have the visit right away!

If you are polish endocrynologist and you read this post, I therfore spit in your face.

An official bribe, LOL. Isn't that an oxymoron? ;)

Not any more than an unofficial salary ;)
Many doctors are not paid enough to support their families:

Firstly, salaries are low, especially in hospitals—much lower than the average salary in public institutions (in a public hospital, doctors typically earn about EU300 (£206; $362) per month after tax). This is not enough to live on, so doctors (particularly young ones) cannot be fully independent and have to seek financial support from their families

Since their skills are involved with the most important thing we have - health - constant practice is essential for a doctor. We cannot expect them to be looking to earn some extra cash in some other field in meantime. It is possible, of course, but I think in case of doctors it is unrecommendable - simply for our own sake as patients. This is why doctors take bribes. Wouldn't anyone of you? You can be fair and all that when you are on your own, but when you have a kid and wife, it is tough. Once I paid doctor what may be understood as bribe. He didn't ask, but it is unwritten law if you want to make things moving. In my case it was Ukraine. It was one of the most uncomfortable moments in my life, I have to say. But this is what happens when people are not paid what they are supposed to. And what are they supposed to? At least, to be able to live on your salary, be able to buy food for your family and maybe, go for a week vacation once a year. In some Western countries you may wait in line forever to get an operation, but as soon as you put the cash on table, you get the op done the same day. Maybe, I am saying obvious things, but many of these were new to me.

It is not a fault of everyone endo out there and the main accusation, in my opinion, should be directed to the government not to the docs.

How so? You are aware salaries for doctors in Poland are not high like in the West right? Especially those who work in the government system.

Even the private clinics don't charge anything near what the USA does for example so there isn't the money to pay them 150,000usd a year or more as in the USA.

All the doctors I dealt with in Poland drove basic cars and dressed like everyone else. I know from what I paid at the clinics there is no way they could be making a lot of money.

You've got to be kidding me. I don't donate any money to the forums as a rule, I post enough of valuable content here and that's enough. Anyway one doesn't have to be a millioner to have 10k, don't you think ?

any Docotor will smell a rat at being handed 10K, thats why they tell you to leave bags outside, their worried about hidden cameras.

These days you don't really need a bag to have a hidden camera.

You should have offered 1k.

You want to tell me that you are making any serious difference bribing doctors with 1k ? Now that's funny, for 1k one can nothing more than a room in the hospital with a better view.

So why did you ask when Gold membership was first introduced "how to pay"?

I post enough of valuable content here and that's enough.

Judging by your latest thread i highly doubt that
