Dentist prices in Poland

Hello everyone.

I am a student studying here in Poland.

Just my luck that a few weeks after moving here one of the fillings in my molar teeth cracked or chiped or something and part of it fell off. It's not painful or sensitive at all, but I think I need to get it sorted.

I've made an appointment with a clinic with an English webpage for foreigners coming for cosmetic procedures in my city (I know!). However, the clinic does have lots of reviews on Google and Facebook and all are in Polish.

They said that the price will be 40 zloty if I just have an examination and between 150 and 200 in total if the tooth needs to be drilled and re-filled.

Is this a reasonable price?

I am worried too in case I need to have a root canal and a crown as my UK dentist said it was very deep and he was unsure whether I'd need a crown or not. How much do you think this should cost?

Also, I have an EHIC card but no insurance - is there any clinic that gives free treatment for someone with this card?

Thanks

the price seems normal - just to extract a tooth costs 100 PLN in most places

ok - my mom just told me that filling a tooth can be as low as 100 PLN - sorry for misinforming you - the price you were quoted seems to be a premium for English speaking dentist

OK, can anyone recommend any cheaper clinics then? I am studying in Lodz.

I checked out their prices page on the Polish language site and the prices are the same as what the receptionist quoted me on the phone. It does seem like a bit of a fancy place, but then I really would prefer an English speaking dentist.

I have used a dentist in Krakow, Poland. Drilling and re-filling at 200 pln is extremely reasonable, if you need root canal work it will be over 1K pln. I paid over 200 pln for each tooth extraction.

The EHIC card is absolutely of no use here. Please read carefully what the EHIC is for.

Yes, it is the correct price. Just like American dentists (as one US teacher told me decades ago), Polish ones are little money making machines, .

Filling a tooth may differ in price depending on what material is used for the filling. Economy class can still ask for amalgam filling and their wish will be fulfilled.
