Is it common for Polish people to speak English in Poland?

The only Polish words I can remember my Mom saying were curse words. Well, they meant 'thunder and lightning' I was told, so not REALLY curse words. Just LOOKING at some of the vowel deficient words make me cringe. But if I were to go to Poland to meet any of my relatives...if WWII left any FOR me to visit...I'd give it a crack.

More and more Poles speak English nowadays than in former times no doubt. This though in no way diminishes the importance of learning the language of country one happens to be in, either to work or to live:-)
