I had to google what a GUM clinic was, it's where you go to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases, right?
They are called Klinika Chorób Wenerycznych in Polish.

I don't know where they are in Poznan.

Good luck.

it is but in general they are yes but they also offer other services so i wouldn't stigmatize it with STD's soley, I'm not embarrassed to say I've been to them here in UK past few years for general sexual health check i ended up getting my Hep. B vaccine re-boosted even though I'm no longer employed by NHS but as they detected my vaccine was low i got a booster jab :) cant grumble i also had the HIV/Aids test which you can refuse to have carried out if you wish ... but it's nice to know sometimes that you are good in terms of sexual health :)

but in general for the OP they are more often these days referred to as Sexual Health Clinics than GUM which is short for genito-urinary medicine.

I'd suggest just walking into your local hospital and asking. they probably have one.

There are also a lot of private Clinics around if you can afford to pay and I am sure they offer the service.

Merged thread:
Free STD testing in Warsaw?

Does anyone know where you can go to get free std testing in Warsaw where someone would definitely speak English?

A dermatologist or urologist can treat male VD, or a gynaecologist if you're female. There are English speaking ones at the centum LIM, and if you ask for a venereology consultation they'll book you an appointment with the right person.

Not free, but then again, does the clap clinic in your country offer free appointments in Polish? If you want free, use a phrasebook.

Or the free translation service here. Alternatively just whip it out and let the doc decide.

Yeah, 'free' and speaking English just for your benefit don't go together in Poland.

Funnily enough, my dentist speaks English - all under the NFZ. Appointments are easy to come by as well.

There are definitely English speaking people out there - it's just a matter of calling around until you find one.
