a large wild boar run into the path of his Harley....the wild piggie survived...my friend did not...

An animal in the path of a traveling vehicle, can become a deadly situation. My former neighbors had hit a cow crossing a road. All but one family member were killed, during the tragic car accident.

I've hit deers before with my car

Poor Bambi :( Btw, the plural form of the noun deer is deer, not deers.

Doesn't it have to be checked for rabies first?

Deer? No. Wild Boar I wouldn't think either. Wild animals carry disease but generally speaking It's probably safer to eat wild game than domestic. At least you know where it came from. Deer in the USA, some have CWD disease but it's questionable if it's transferable. Rabbit is the one in the states that you have to worry about. Something about liver disease which can affect consumption of the meat. If you're worried about wild game soak it in a salt brine for a day, that should take care of any cooties.

Yeah that animal should have been taken home, though de-boning a large animal is quite a task.

Does insurance cover the cost of hitting wild animals?

Yes his insurance covers such accidents.

Is eating roadkill legal?

I wouldn't want to do this and the Police said the Boar had to be destroyed so it couldn't be consumed as it could harbour harmful diseases. I checked this out yesterday when I went to the National Veterinary Institute here in Pulawy and they told me that there are certain butchering procedures that must be strictly adhered to when handling game meat and the carcass and organs are also subjected to a full inspection by a trained person for Trichinella disease testing..

Too much hassle to be honest....

Wild Boar

First name: Wild, last name: Boar.

you mean with a dzik? is the dzik ok?

:D

Why dzik wanted to ram a car?

- Had a bad day, that's all.

Is eating roadkill legal?

- It was accidentally hunted with the use of car. You can take the boar to a vet if still alive or to a place where they collect game, to have it inspected, I think. And remember: Not all dzik is bad. Sometimes they are just chillin' on the beach and doing nuttin':
