I am planning on buying a video capture card/tuner for my computer, and I'd like to be able to use it in both the US and Poland. I assume I will need to get some kind of adapter. I assume that cable tv in Poland gets run over coax cable terminated with the Belling-Lee connector AKA IEC 169-2 connector, more simply known as TV aerial plug or PAL connector. Am I correct?

There is a picture of this connector at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_aerial_plug

Thanks in advance.

Merged: How to set up cable TV channels (Warsaw)?

Hi,

just moved to Warsaw couple of weeks ago, bought a tv - but cant figure out how to find the channels that are running through the cabel?

I mean, there must be a couple of free channels that are available without having to order anything.
Whick network id number(regional id number) should i choose to search for channels?

Thanks in advance!

If you mean the antenna cabel from tv to the cabel port in the wall then yes.
but when i search for channels it does not find any channels - though i need to select a regional code aswell.
i know for example in denmark, Copenhagen you have to choose 151.
Maybe you know which one for Warsaw area?

Have you tried reading the instructions?

If you put the make and model into google you can probably find the instructions in several languages.

Don't recall a regional code here.....

No, he meant do you have cable tv in the place you live or telewizja naziemnna (=antenna signal).
Maybe ask some neighbour why you cannot receive any channel?

I mean, there must be a couple of free channels that are available without having to order anything.

There is a common practice to unplug other end of cable in router located in the basement.
All or nothing. They do not transmit or amplify channels availible in the air.

So buy a small indoor antenna and if your tv has MPEG4 you will
find free digital channels aired by TVP.
