Where to buy a clothes dryer in Poland?

Does anyone have a clothes dryer? Where did you get it (imported or found local?) how do you run it (LPG, electric?) and how much did/does it cost you?

They're not hard to find - if you don't buy on-line every shopping centre will have electrical shops with a small selection

We got one with output hosing though condensing units seemed popular too.
Electric ... haven't seen anything else.

Can't remember the price - it's been a few years now. Efficiency saving is C so it could be worse ...

Size-wise ... between the small one I had in the UK and the gigantic one we had in Canada.

Even thousands do.


An electrical shop. Do people import them? Why? Poland isn't a desert.


Nowadays, Bobbystand, home appliances run on electricity. Safer than gas and less hassle than clockwork.

@bobbystand : I wouldn't recommend importing from too far away. The North American dryers are to die for, but ... in my opinion would be too awkward to set up here. And probably cost an arm and a leg to run.

i can give you an advice. and that is to buy a combo dryer/washer, don't buy the cheap ones they are crap.

Buy Miele or AEG. they are like 6-9000 PLN.

there is no point of having these American beasts of machines :)

Not always, I had an Indesit which cost me under a grand and lasted for eleven years before failing terminally (the first time it had ever gone wrong).


Miele perhaps (my mother has them and her dryer is more than 25 years old but I'm not convinced that the quality is really worth paying several times more for); AEG no (they're pretty much just badge engineered Electrolux these days).

As for where to buy, work out which model (or models) you're interested in and then hit ceneo.pl to find the cheapest online supplier.

I guess I wasn't clear that I am looking for the exhaust type (wywiewna?) or as the guy at RTV called it ewakuacyjne.
The condensing ones that seem prevalent are just heated spin cycles and not worth the energy spent.
I found one for 500 PLN which is suspiciously cheap.

Don't bother with dryer sheets, just ball up some aluminium foil and throw it in.

I need to buy a washer/dryer combo, ventless unit for my apartment in Krakow. Is there an appliance store other than Saturn where I might find one?

On Allegro they have lots, but they're nowhere near as cheap as regular washing machines. Hotpoint machines cost from 1799 PLN; Samsung go for 2490 and even well over 3000. Got a bit of string and a bath?

Plus the things also break a lot more often.

My place is real small, 2 people and the drying rack never leaves the middle of the room. Since we're staying for more than a year (usually only 2-3 weeks) I just can't take it.

For 2 people the combination washer/dryer should work fine, but be prepared for high electricity bills.

I found some machines on Allegro and on Ceneo as well.

I used to have a combination LG machine - worked fine for 6 years then stopped all together without warning. Before that I had a Norge, and that one lasted 7 years.

I had a combination one in the UK and it was good. Smaller loads I'd you want to put the laundry in dirty and take it out dry but normal loads just as a washing machine. They aren't popular in Poland but I think Saturn and Euro AGD have them.
