Hi Forum Go'ers!
I am new to this forum and I have been searching the internet for some somebody who is in the same position as myself.
And due to the britishinpoland website being closed down I am drawing at straws to find a depository of knowledge!
My wife (understands Polish but can't speak that well) and I (barely any Polish knowledge) have recently purchased a brand new house (they call it an apartment as they are built in a row of four) in Gdansk and everything has been smooth sailing so far.
We have found a good sworn translator for all of our notary requirements and although it took a couple of weeks we have found a decorator/builder to start finishing off the interior of our house.
And this is when we got a out of the blue e-mail from our developers notifying us that they want to switch over the ownership of the gas supplier into our name. (They only gave me 7 working day's notice and I can't get the time off work to fly over there on a week day.)
My wife has e-mailed them to see if we can postpone the sign over but I have a feeling this isn't going to happen... so my questions are as follows -
1. If we miss the deadline and I have to reconnect this service ... how hard will this be? (I understand that it will cost around 150zl to reconnect). Will I have the same situation with Water & Gas?
2. Once I have registered my home address will the PEZEL arrive automatically? My wife tells me this is soon to be redundant so maybe a waste of time.
3. How easy will it be to sign up for broadband, tv and mobile phone services as a foreigner?
4. How important is it that I am registered before I do some of the above? What can I do with and without it is maybe a better question.
Thanks for taking your time to read this and any responses are appreciated.
Thanks
Chris
